I enjoyed this movie. The animation was simple, but it was clearly a particular style they were going for, and it was well executed.
The jokes I found were entertaining, and the dialogue good also. I like how it's not made for kids.

I didn't take this movie quite as serious as some who've reviewed it here on IMDb. Their views are perfectly valid and insightful and I for one appreciate their efforts; I guess I just assumed this movie was going to be offbeat (due to the title) and went in just hoping to be entertained not to have a life-changing experience. Guess what?! I really was (entertained that is)! In my opinion, it was just the right amount of nostalgia for Batman The Animated Series (BTAS) of the 90's with a bit of modern WTF & OMG thrown in for good measure. I was genuinely shocked a couple of times (you'll know when you get to THAT scene) and laughed out loud at others (keep your eyes out for the Batusi!!) Thought I must admit, I really missed Arleen Sorkin's voice as Harley. Not sure what happened there WB?! I mean, it seems like a no brainer to bring her back if you bring everyone else from BTAS back (just sayin').
One way you might be able to enjoy 'Batman & Harley Quinn' more is if you just look at it as a really long "lost episode" of BTAS, not an addition to the DC Animated Universe. That's what I found myself doing. I didn't love every single episode of BTAS (gasp!) but I did love the entire series overall. There are people who will trash this film, stating that it somehow destroyed their childhood, but honestly, if that's the case then they took it WAY too seriously. It was exactly what the title implied; a crazy hybrid story that intertwines Batman (and Nightwing) with a Harley Quinn story. My suggestion is this: if you are hankerin' for an animated film, want to be entertained and maybe kill 75 min., watch this quirky, sometimes shocking flick.
Lighten up people, or as a great clown once said..."Why so serious?!"

Plot wise, not much to say, but then again it isn't about the plot it's about DC humor, or better yet, Harley's humor. To me it was very entertaining. For mature crowd, since it has some "adult humor." All in all a good tribute to the Adam West TV series.
So I saw the movie yesterday and I've gotta say that I was pretty disappointed. I've been a DC fan for almost 15 years and Harley Quinn is one of my favorite characters. This movie didn't really do her justice. She was constantly on edge and very snappy. Now I understand that this was a different take on her but since it was a Bruce Timm movie I had hoped to see his version of her (gleeful, naughty, goofy and aggressive when needed). I understand that this was aftermath Harley, she's been through a lot and will not let anyone walk over her. I suppose that's realistic. But it wasn't enough for me to truly enjoy the movie. This was because of multiple reasons.
The script writing was meager and kept going from serious to gag. I wasn't sure what this movie wanted to be. It could have been both but it just switched it up too fast and often. The plot was pretty generic and there were a lot of OOC moments for some of the characters. I could have given this movie much more credit but sadly the abrupt and anti-climatic ending made me seal the deal. This movie was okay, not great.
To prevent being a complete sour puss I will add what I did like about the movie. I loved the animation style, it made me feel very nostalgic. Some of the jokes were pretty funny and I did enjoy the fight scenes. There's also a fair amount of easter eggs referring to Adam West his Batman. So should you watch this movie? My answer is yes, because this is just my opinion and you might like it either way ;)

I had a feeling that if they were going to make a movie where "Harley Quinn" is about half of the title, she would steal the show. And I was right! Unfortunately, the show which Harley stole was not not a very good one...
At first I didn't know how to feel about this movie. I grew up on the "Batman the Animated Series" cartoons which this movie spawned from. Those cartoons always took themselves very seriously, and explored themes that were pretty dark and complex for kids shows at the time. However, that show ran in the '90s, and it's 2017 now, and Batman has been pretty thoroughly explored and picked apart on TV and in film since then (see The Lego Batman Movie).
Maybe because of this, I think Paul Dini and Bruce Timm decided they would try a different route than what one might expect from the original cartoons: this movie DOES NOT take itself very seriously. Harley Quinn is good for that, she is making jokes and acting silly throughout. Batman and the main villains take themselves very seriously, but literally no other character in the movie does. About half of the jokes and antics are funny, and the other half fall pretty flat. Comedy was never the original series's strength though, in fact jokes falling flat was the norm. That normally wasn't a problem in the original series though, because the story, mystery, or character development was the focus, not the humor.
In this movie though, the story is pretty generic, there is no mystery, and there aren't very many new or interesting characters to develop. On top of that, the focus of this movie is shifted more onto the humor and to Harley Quinn's various antics, which makes it feel, well... really CAMPY. Honestly though, many of Batman's iterations over the years have been quite campy (RIP Adam West) so I would bet there would be many fans of Batman who would not see this as a problem.
Where it does become a bit of a problem is when some characters act VERY out of character with minimal explanation as to why. Without spoiling anything, one scene in particular has a character act EXTREMELY out of character for what I have to assume is only for the sake of "fan service" (if you see the movie you'll know what scene I'm talking about). Combine this fan service with the campiness and you come away from this film feeling as if you just saw someone's fan fiction brought to life. Admittedly it's not really BAD fan fiction, but it is very AVERAGE fan fiction.
Truthfully, even with all of that I could easily justify giving this movie a 7/10, or maybe even an 8/10 if you really enjoy camp. However, THAT ENDING THOUGH!!?!?! Without spoiling anything, the movie's ending is abrupt, overly silly, and anti- climactic. They really build up a character appearance and an epic fight, but the payoff is instead that the character leaves as soon as they arrive, a silly moment happens, and then the film pulls with a Looney Tunes-esque moment. It felt like suddenly Harley Quinn became the director and directed this final scene. It felt like I was trolled by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. They might as well have played the movie out to the tune of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". I knocked two whole points off of my rating just for that ending!
It should also be noted that there are two stingers in the credits: one that happens a few minutes into the credits, and another that happens after they have ended. Both are pretty silly. In addition, after the final stinger, there is a short interview/behind the scenes look in which Bruce and Paul and others are asked about the origins of Harley Quinn, a look at what her real-life sociopathic disorder would be, and just a description of her as a character. It's good, as good as or possibly even better than the movie that came before it... In fact, I added a point back onto my score because it was good. Admittedly it did feel a bit like they were justifying some of the poor decisions being made in this movie (including the fan service one...) but still cool to know!
So overall, it's a very okay movie with some problems, but was still fun to see. 6/10

Well, there isn't much to talk about this movie. In fact, it's just a silly but entertaining animation (for the most part), it's far from DC's best, but is far from the worst too.
Although, I think that the movie will have a hard time to find his public, it has some sexual jokes in some parts, so I really don't know if is the best DC animation for kids, but, at the same time, it sounds like a fluffy dumb kid movie for the majority of his runtime, thus I don't think that is for adults too. Anyway, Batman and Harley is over all just a short and "ok" DC animation, will someday show up on the TV, you'll probably see, and may like, or might not.
Other things: The animation isn't great, but is better than some recent DC films (like Son of Batman, or Batman vs Robin). The structure itself is pretty basic, predictable and etc, you basically knows how the film will end (almost). Overall, I get it (kind off), but I really don't like the way that they approach Batman here, he gets his ass kick to almost everyone (so does nightwing), and he does some silly jokes as well.

A funny movie that was worth watching. Harley came into her own once she was out from under the Joker's shadow. Unlike most Batman movies, this one is a little lighter and has a huge humor factor. Definitely worth seeing!
With the new mainstream popularity of Harley Quinn it was inevitable they were going to cash in, and with the forthcoming movie coming out were teased a future Quinn/Ivy team up with this animated DC venture.
Immediately I was struck with the inconsistency of the tone, it looks and sounds like the old Batman animated series but blood, swearing and over sexualisation of Quinn was present. But then the opening credits was like a Pink Panther movie, half the sequences were camp comedy and the whole thing felt like the original series on acid.
That's not saying it wasn't watchable, but its like that Family Guy/Simpsons crossover. It was like a Simpsons episode, with blood violence and rape jokes. Something about it just felt wrong.
Batman and Harley Quinn is a Saturday Morning cartoon with content thrown into keep adults entertained and they've been doing that a lot lately. What with Batman sleeping with Batgirl in the huge letdown that was Killing Joke (2016), Deadshot hooking up with Killer Frost in Assault On Arkham (2014) and here we have another such encounter.
Due to the mixed tone I really didn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to. It was like mixing the Adam West series with the Nolan Franchise and blending it with the animated TV show.
The Good:
Great voice work
Nice to see old school Harley Quinn again
The Bad:
Inconsistent tone
Most jokes fall flat
Ridiculous opening credits

Funny animated film with surprisingly smart dialogs. I simply do not understand bad ratings and negative fan reactions! 🦇 Some lines of Harley Quinn are hilarious, and the scene at her apartment may be highlighted. The homage to the 60's series at the Shrubby's bar was very nice. The light approach of this film makes Batman's impatience quite funny too. For some surprising periods in the first part of the movie, it may be the most sexual DC film since Batman Returns!
The opening credits make it obvious it's going to be a lighthearted animation, but it is a bit silly. The tone of the movie was inconsistent and felt disjointed. As a result, you can't take the dramatic scenes very seriously, and most of the humourous stuff is out of character.
The best part was definitely the Nightwing and Harley scenes, and when Batman finds them. Another plus is Kevin Michael Richardson's voice acting - excellent, as usual.
An overly long music and dance scene was a bit ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as the ending itself.
Overall a refreshing break from the doom and gloom of the other animated movies leading up to and following this movie. Not the worst, but not the best either.

While the voice acting was great, nothing else was even meh about this.
If they wanted to make a Harley movie, they should have made a good one. Harley Vs Ivy with Batman and "Night-wig" along for the ride was a great idea in theory but poorly poorly poorly executed. Just another cash grab capitalizing on Harley's popularity.
Thin plot, terrible jokes, characters lacked depth, tried way too hard to be zany. This is the Batman Universe, not Family Guy.
Even as a B-movie parody, it's still terrible. Nothing clever about how any of it was done. Wasted opportunity.
This made Teen Titans Go! look like Shakespeare.

So with Birds Of Prey finally with us tomorrow I decided to do some late revision and watch the Animated Film Batman & Harley Quinn from a few years ago and this is my review for it. The premise of the film sees Batman & Nightwing forced into teaming up Harley Quinn in order to stop Poison Ivy and The Floronic Man from turning everyone in the world into nature.
Main Character For me possibly the most iconic portrayal of Batman has to be this one, Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman takes me back to my childhood and to the excellent Arkham games that have come out over the last decade. He has the perfect voice for the caped crusader and for me this is one of the best versions of the character ever, he nails the brooding nature of Batman but has a little bit of fun in the role to allow a more complete performance as Batman. Melissa Rauch voices Harley Quinn in this film and she does a really good job, this was the only time that she voiced the character but I thought she delivered a fun take on the Harley Quinn character, there is some depth there and she has some really funny lines in the film that make you like her as she isn't the most evil version of the character and is a pretty easy character to root for given the circumstances.
Supporting Characters Paget Brewster voices Poison Ivy in the film and I have always liked the animated version of Ivy as I feel like it is given some real depth and even though she clearly isn't the most likeable of characters the film does a good job of selling her point of view and making you kind of understand why she does the things that she does. Kevin Michael Richardson plays The Floronic Man and I have to admit this is a character I know nothing about from the comics but he played the role well as the hulking henchman but he also had some depth to his motivations and I thought him and Ivy were a good pairing as the antagonists in this film. It is a bit unfair that this film isn't called Batman, Nightwing & Harley Quinn as Loren Lester & Nightwing is along for the journey the entire film and he fills his role well, I thought the trio bounced off each other very well and were fun to watch.
Story I thought as mentioned the concept of Batman & Nightwing having to work with Harley Quinn is an interesting one and I thought they did a good job of really showing the difference between the two heroes and Quinn. Also as mentioned I felt the villains had decent motivations and I liked how they fit in the history between Harley & Ivy in the film. However, my biggest negative of this film is the ending, the last 5 minutes are utter nonsense and include an incredibly pointless cameo that seems to be just there as a bit of fan service. Also it is just how abrupt the ending is, I felt like I was expecting at least another 10 minutes but no the film just ended and I really wasn't satisfied with the ending.
Script This film has some good drama in it, especially between Harley & Ivy to make you care about their friendship and relationship and also some good lines from Batman. The humour is a bit of a mixed bag for me, some of it worked and did make me laugh but they also resorted with some childish humour which makes no sense as this film is definitley not aimed for kids.
Style I thought that the more mature tone taken for this film was a good decision, with a character like Harley Quinn as one of the leads it made sense for this film to have a bit more adult content in it, also all the action scenes were well handled and felt exciting to watch. But I can't stop thinking about the pacing of the film and how it just ends abruptly and doesn't really answer any of the questions from the film.
Overall Overall this is a fun easy to watch film that is just over an hour long so won't take up too much of your time. If you are a fan of Batman The Animated Series then you will probably like this film, just be prepared that it doesn't provide the payoff like that epic show did.
Rating - 7/10.

First things first, DO NOT take this film seriously, it doesn't take itself seriously so neither should you. Just go into it with an open mind and expect some laughs! It had me smiling through most of it, I thought it was a bit of a feel good film. It's like marmite, you'll either love it or you'll hate it. Give it a try!
Your going to enjoy or hate this simple as that, i personally loved it, found it very entertaining and geared to a more adult audience which i must say is very welcomed.
I gave it a 7.5 out of 10, but its not going to be to every ones taste.
I wish they made Batman sing!!!!

So when I went into this movie I was already going in with the expectation to pretty much despise it. I didn't like the Killing Joke and my faith in Bruce Timm was really beginning to weaken. So it comes as a shock to me when I did finally watch it that I kinda had fun with this.
No this is not the serious return to the world of Batman the animated series I wanted, but instead this feels more like a what if scenario. This movie is a comedy through and through. And it watches as one. It takes a minute for it to click though that you are really watching one and if you don't see it as one your probably going to call it a guilty pleasure. The film is riddled with nothing but dick jokes and crude and unusual humor too. Not all the jokes really hit, but the few that do really work.
I also must speak about the voice cast in this movie. And more specifically I want to talk about Harley Quinn's va known as Melissa Raunch whose entire casting should have signaled that this wasn't a movie to take seriously. Melissa gives a very fun performance in the movie and one that if she wasn't the voice I don't think this movie could of worked as well. She made the movie a lot more enjoyable for me. There is this song in the movie Harley has to sing and it really is just amazing and was probably my favorite part of the entire movie.
In fact the entire bar scene in the film was just amazing to watch. I t really was probably my favorite part of the film and was really when the film started to click with me.
I also couldn't not talk about this film without talking about the Nightwing x Harley scene. If Im being completely honest this scene worked for me weirdly enough. I thought it made sense for each of these characters and the situation they were in at the time. And it really just added on a new layer to the film as a whole.
Much like any comedy the plot is really just a background layer that is just there to keep things moving and doesn't have any real substance beyond that fact.
Overall this film really was a bit of a pleasant surprise. Was it silly? Yea. Was it kinda dumb? Yea. But I had defiantly had some fun with it which I didn't expect too.

Without a doubt this is the worst DC animated movie made. It frankly is so bad I am confident that it is also the worst DC animated movie that will EVER be made.
This movie cannot decide if it wants to be a continuation of the Batman Animated Series or a goofball comedy. It absolutely fails at both. First the whole premise of the movie is bad. The characters don't ring true, despite having Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester returning in their roles as Batman and Nightwing. The jokes are not funny and frankly badly executed.
Without a spoiler the ending actually comes across as a "F*ck you" to the audience who sat through this train wreck of a movie.
I have watched ALL the DC Animated movies that have been released. Some I loved, some I liked, and some I didn't enjoy or thought were very good. But with this movie, I actually feel that I am owed an apology for wasting my time and money.
This could not have been worse.

What.. the heck.. did I just watch? This is just a parody of Batman. Sure it has Kevin Conroy, but the character of Batman is not the same. WB is getting pop. Not popular, sadly. More vulgar, erotic, toilet jokes, less detective and more comic like. IS THIS REALLY BATMAN??? I am sad I have watched this :(

This is by far the longest, least funny Robot Chicken skit I have ever seen.
It's the worst of their animated films and they're releasing it just before their 10th anniversary 30 film collection. I wonder if it's too late for them to throw this movie out and make another one before the Blu Ray set goes on sale. lol

This is not a good film, but it is very enjoyable. Just turn your brain off and dont think about the fact that this film is taking a dump on Batman as a character. This is Harley Quinn's movie, so think of this as her perspective of life.
If you do this, you will likely enjoy it (atleast just a little bit).
