The US do this sort of show so well. In fact, depressingly for ITV a Brit in the US (James Corden) does this so well. That may explain why in their wisdom they have moved the news back to create room for this attempt at 'a late night topical comedy show'.

And what a rubbish show it is. David Walliams has been the first host, but all he's done is make jokes about Trump (an easy target) and play his usual "I'm camp" card, combined with lots of references to Simon Cowell.

Apparently 12 expert comedy writers script this show. It's not surprising that none of them have come out in the press and owned up to that. I mean, you wouldn't, would you.

It's a nice attempt ITV. Shame it's not a good one.

This is an awful hodge-podge of various things. It's a show that doesn't know what it is. I watched several episodes, and it often descended into childish messing around. It tries to be several things in each episode - and fails miserably at every one. The makers should have made up its mind what it was and stuck to that - instead of trying to be a stand-up comedy show, a game show, a talk show etc. all in each episode.

Bizarrely, Channel 4 decided to create an equally awful show called Host the Week - using a similar format. At least that was axed after only one episode.

We tonight's show was by far the best , all others have been so bad could not watch poor show from the lot if them , reading from a board even ones that do this for living were shocking , Bradley was himself no showing off bring him on every night , or bin it , Bradley was was fun guests were true to themselves unlike idiots that have been on , can't buy class experience rest were limp not funny at all , Gordon god help us he made us cringe ( what with the hair 😂😂😂) Over paid jokes the lot of them
