Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins had been included in the list of guest hosts of The Nightly Show. However, the duo withdrew from negotiations to host the show stating that they were unable to host a week-long run of episodes due to their busy schedule.
The Nightly Show was included in a list of ITV shows, published in the broadcaster's annual report, that had not performed as well as hoped and would therefore not return in 2018.
