The End of Summer (1959)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
Mildly entertaining short film from director Ralph Hirshorn that has a little girl pulling a sled as she walks around Philadelphia. That's pretty much the only thing that happens throughout the 12-minute running time but it ends in such a strange way that I'd recommend the film to people. I think this was meant to have a Europeon feel like something that Godard would have made. There's no reason why this girl is walking around dressed for winter and pulling a sled on a summer day yet she encounters a few strange people along the way. Of course, this isn't as great as something Godard would have pulled off but it seems that director was an influence.
