This series introduced snippets between the theatrical movies and animated series. Most of them have reprised their roles as providing their voices.
Not as bad as we see here, if you understand what went through. We know some of the back stories behind some of the changes or attitude of caracters which made the "Forces of Destiny" in the "Star Wars" world...
And by the way, yes Stormtroopers are nasty, but do not deserve an Ewok "spit-roasting" after defeat... So says Leia !

I'm going to give it a 6 just for it's story and dialogue. It's animation is just meh and voice acting could be better too. But I love how they show the untold scenes from past movies.
Also, did you know this show is canon?

Even by Disney-Star-Wars standards this series is a low-point for the franchise. There was PLENTY of aesthetic potential here, but they squandered that by making these shorts look like refined flash-animations from 2005. Hell; it doesn't look half as good as the Star Wars: Clone Wars series from 2003-2004. And considering Disney, freaking DISNEY, did this as opposed to Cartoon Network you'd think they'd utilize Gravity Falls-esque quality of animation for a Star Wars project: but no; this series looks like digital puke in comparison to Clone Wars.
I love the women of Star Wars, I truly do, but the medium they decided to tell these stories through, FLASH-animations, was a misfire of astronomical proportions. It doesn't matter how good or bad the story is; it all goes down to the basic execution of a project especially with highly-franchised work such as Star Wars. And unfortunately these shorts definitely succumb to the latter: they're bad. Lackluster animation accompanied by underwhelming side-stories accompanied by sleep-inducing voice-acting adds up to an official Star Wars mess. What a shame.
Hopefully the next PROPER animated Star Wars project will be so much better than this 'filler' product.

Now I understand this show is normally for kids way younger than the average who would watch Cartoon Network or Disney XD, The only thing that's making me want to talk about it is that it's confirmed canon. The reason why this is a problem is because the stuff I see in the series feels WAY too out of character. None of the characters really feel any similar to the characters I would see in the movies or the Clone Wars show except for the Ewok episode. The way the characters are portrayed in the series and how they deal with a problem is really corny, and the animation of the show is too weak to support it. I wish this show could've worked much more to the characters put into this series. But now like I said, if this wasn't canon, I'd mostly give it a past for it being a kid show, but is there a downfall to this beyond the canon problem? Well, sort of, As I said before the character designs and the animation look very off. But this isn't the worst to come out of Star Wars, so I'm cool with it.

Really good stories but not sure I understand the very short episodes? Would have been superb with full length episodes.
Oddly enough then I had actually never heard about this 2017 animated "Star Wars" series titled "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" before here in 2022, as I happened to stumble upon it by sheer random chance. And with it being a "Star Wars" title and me being a huge fan of the franchise, then there was no doubt about me picking this up and watching it.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this being an animated series, but of course I gave the series the benefit of the doubt. The only thing that really bothered me about this series was the run time of the episodes.
And I will say that I actually was genuinely surprised with "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny", despite of the short run time for each episode. I liked the stories, despite of it being mere snippets of stories actually, and it was enjoyable that they spanned over the prequel era, the original saga era and the sequel era. Not to mention a great variety in characters showing up in the series as well.
The art style and animation was good, and I will say that of all the animated series in the franchise, then "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" is definitely one of the better and more outstanding of shows.
And the voice cast was great, it was especially amazing that they had so many of the original voices of the characters show up and do the voice acting.
If you like "Star Wars", then "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" is definitely worth watching.
I am rating "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" a six out of ten stars.

What can I say without spoilers?
This series is actively fighting for "Christmass Special" crowd.
First things first - animation. It's really bad. Both the graphic design and the actual animation looks like something made by untalented fan. If that was the case - I would apploud the effort. But it's Disney production and I can't really understand what drove them to make that atrocious graphic style choice. It's like mistaking simple stuff with simpleton - sounds right about familliar, but actually are oposites.
I would say I'm guilty of watching some poor series with good graphics only because they please me esteticly. True - but I can watch awful animation if the plot is kicking, so how "Forces of Destiny" is doing in this department?
Well... it's not.
The stories are shamefully weak.
Both protagonists and antagonists are poorly writen and developed which leads to unpleasent expirience.
The writers are clearly pushing some agenda - and I wouldn't mind that much, if they would create entertaining show on the way. Well... they didn't. And I had pretty little idea why - they were so preoccupied with telling viewer what to think, to tell them actuall compeling story.
So why a gave 3 stars? Well, the show have some redeeming qualities (hidden really deep), it can throw few interesting nodes into canon, and it can (barely) expand some known (and loved by me) characters.
I would love to see this series rebooted and done right by some competent writers and animators that know what they are doing.
My opinion? Give it a try, maybe Your kids will watch it and won't hold a grudge... but on the other hand - why risk it? Show them "Gravity Falls" or "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", or "Clone Wars", "Rebels"...

I just saw an episode and that already ruined this for me. In the plot the new female character fights against a stormtrooper that .... tries to take a pet from a little girl ..... I mean seriously ? I know that a thing of dictatorships is that they try to micromanage the life of the people that live under them, but seriously ? Why ban having pets ? What kind of moron would actually enforce such ridiculous law ? What ? Palpatine is afraid that a pet suddenly becomes force sentient and defeats him ? Is that some kind of untold prophecy ? The return of the puppies ? Get out of here. A hero is just as good as their villain, and a villain that steals puppies reminds me less of an Evil Empire and more of PETA. Also it's feminist propaganda, which in my book automatically turns any series into cr*p. I love many female leading cartoons. MLP Friendship is Magic, Star vs The Forces of Evil ( which I consider a masterpiece ), and let us not forget Powerpuff Girls not the horrible remake but the original one which I miss every day I see the new version , but one thing is having a female being the protagonist, and another being trash feminist propaganda, this show does the later.

Many people are writing terrible things about a kids show because it's ruining "their Star Wars." The truth is this show is for kids. It's a great way for parents who love Star Wars to bond with their kids who love Star Wars without having to sit down for a 2 hour movie. The fact of the matter is writing a bad review of this with reasons such as "the story and animation suck" is like writing a review on peppa pig saying the same thing.
This is so bad. the graphic is terrible. u gone become eye cancer from this bulls..t .... this is the worst star wars i ever seen..... the story is bad too. my children's can make better cartoons then this. this cant being a star wars series worth watching. u just wast your time.... if somebody finds this good than sorry for this comment, but for me this series is dead....

This show is really awful. I am all for female heros and what not, but this is a bit too much propaganda.
Disney tries to make Star Wars also for kids, meanwhile the kids always liked the movies. This is a useless show that doesn't bring anything worth into the Universe.

It looks like a school project made by a wannabe cartoonist that by chance is a feminist Star Wars fan. I've watched all episodes and it feels like Disney is trying to test the water with a new concept that pushes too hard some agenda that I would not mention here. The result is a puerile attempt at a cartoon that is so low in quality (cartoon style and plot) that almost rivals the "Xmas special". I give it a 2 because I think that some unknown artist in this project tried his/her best despite the horrible puerile writing.

This mini series, designed for consumption through digital outlets such as the YouTube Kids App, is an excellent way to introduce the world of Star Wars to young viewers through short stories that show simple actions of right vs. wrong. While some fanboys may have their feelings hurt, this series is an amazing way for me (a lifelong Star Wars fan) to watch Star Wars with my daughter (who is three years old and does not care if the grown adults leaving low star reviews dislike the story, animation, or "agenda".). The animation is higher quality than most children's content put out by major studios, and the voice work is very impressive - most of the main characters are reprised by their film or television actors. This series is fun to watch, my daughter asks to watch it over and over again - which we will be doing until she's old enough to watch the films and the other animated series.

Terrible, terrible series with just three-minute-long episodes. Not well animated for a multimegabillionare company and without any plot, just characters doing stuff like fighting sand winning for two minutes. But the worst part: they didn't even bring Emilia to this! Unbelievable!

The Clone wars was made for kids yet appealed to adults and teenagers alike and even if it that was a valid argument that does not excuse bad writing. Someone tried comparing this to peppa pig but have you watched puffin rock which is a kids show yet it at least makes your kids think and has a interesting animation that looks beautiful.

What can I say that hasn't been said before... the writing is non existent, the animation amateurish, the overall style and design lacking (to say the least), and the protagonists act out of character.
But in the end it doesn't really overstay its welcome... I guess it's best to look at this "cartoon" for what it is: a series of 2 minutes long advertisement spots aimed at toddlers

Forces of Destiny, compacts everything Lucas wanted to achieve with Star Wars into 3 mins stories.
Action and adventure with a strong moral within the narrative.
Yes it's simple animation, and yes the stories are short and very twee. But that's the point, clearly some of "so called" fans missed the point with FOD that it's not made for them.
I sit with my 2 yr old and he loves them, just the right duration for him to keep him entertained and educate him on what's right and wrong.
They're great... don't believe the haters!
I wasn't a HIGE Star Wars fan but I do like the old movies and almost anything before the force awakens but holy crap everything after the force awakens just made me hate everything Star Wars in general, I can't stand seeing anything from Star Wars anymore. I don't get how or why idiots still like it.

The story lines was short, the animation basic, they could have put more effort into it, they could have also made the episodes much longer even 10 minutes each would have been interesting, some of the story lines felt rushed. it wasn't good, I was falling asleep watching them. we need a new show, like clone wars or rebels. this new one star wars resistance is also the same the animation is very bad, I'm shocked it is made by Disney.
After the Clone Wars and Rebels I watched, or rather tried to watch, the Resistance. And that was mildly said bad. And then I ran across this. My first thought? WHAT THE F...? Sorry for being blunt and rude, but I am saying it honestly. This is... it is... I can't really even describe this. It's simply waste of time.
So another ruined cartoon and more dirt on Star Wars universe. Bravo Disney. If your plan is to ruin the Star Wars then you are doing first class job.
I am starting to worry about the new Clone Wars season. I hope I am wrong, but with all of this? I got a bad feeling about this.
