It was remade in Telugu as Suswagatham, in Kannada as Majnu, and in Hindi as Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai.
Movie had successful run for 250 days in theater, got positive review due to its unique climax.
Only Vijay movie with director Balasekaran till date. After success of this movie, their planned to worked together for a movie named 'Priyamudan', but the movie was shelved and title used for another Vijay movie.
