"Avanti or a fan ti" actually is not a person's name, but a title, which comes from the Turkic: "Efcndi". It means "sir" and "teacher", which is a respectful name for a person with knowledge.
"The Story of Avanti" is based on the story of Nasreddin that is widely circulated in Xinjiang, China.
