It's the first Comedy by Director Rico Herre. He's usually working with dramatic content.
Originally the movie was shot for a film-contest called "99-Fire".
So the movie was produced entirely in 99 hours and had a run-time of 99 seconds.
Director Rico Herre was not satisfied with the result of a "too fast paced movie" and arranged re-shoots to get more material for the sake of a proper storytelling.
The final Cut of the movie is now 07:26 mins. run-time.
"Worldquake" was originally the title of another screenplay by Rico Herre.
He wrote it in advance to have a possible pitch for the "99-Fire"-Contest.
In this case, "Worldquake" was a dramatic love story (the world of two people, their relationship, begins to shatter).
When it was clear that it should be a comedy, Rico Herre wrote a screenplay with the old text data, using "Worldquake" as a working title.
In the end he just used the title for the comedy, in this case for the movie in the movie. Now "Worldquake" has a hilarious meaning.
Kristina Kostiv, the actress which portrays the Make-Up Artist, had the idea for the story.
When the team was sitting around for a production meeting no one really had a good idea.
Then she came up with "Why do we just make a movie about what we're doing? People shooting a movie, but in worse and funny."
Rico Herre liked the idea from the very start. A few hours later the script was finished.
