    Great show for social lessons

I love this show and am enjoying watching it with my elementary aged daughter. It is a happy show that teaches children how to think positively and persevere even through failures.

As to the the negative reviews... I have two children and work with elementary and preschool age students. This show does NOT contribute to gender stereotypes. There are all types of characters and personalities represented here. It is very happy and if it does include things like pink tutu's, ballerinas, ponies, and baking it is because those are things young girls like. Even among the trio of Sunny, Blair, and Rox, there are major personality differences that challenge the problematic gender stereotypes. Such as: Blair is a type A perfectionist that is the quintessential girly-girl. Rox is the cool punk that finds order in chaos type of girl. They do things in opposite ways but they show that each way is valid and it is worth while to find a way to meet in the middle to accomplish a common goal. It's good stuff.

Some of the lesson resolutions are left wanting (no real consequences for a bully's actions). But that is forgivable because the lesson's focus is on perseverance and remaining positive.

The episode I am watching right now has the girls pretending to be astronauts and adventuring into space. Definitely not a frontier they would be exploring if this was reinforcing negative stereotypes

Let's not review a show negatively for the sake of furthering radical feminist propaganda. If a little girl likes pink or ponies that is not a testimony of the power of a patriarchal society. I would put little boys in front of this show and feel like they would enjoy this show and receive social benefits from its lessons.

It reminds me of a lot of great shows from the 80's stirred into one.. think rainbow brite, strawberry shortcake, punky bruster, and lady lovely locks.

Plus in Sunny's Birthday Suprise Episode (season 1) there is a definite nod to Sailor Moon hidden as a person in the crowd at her surprise party.

Please keep in mind that this is a show that is teaching SOCIAL LESSONS. These types of lessons are paramount in early childhood education. This is one of the only shows that provides these types of lessons while not talking down to preschoolers.

One Of The Better Shows on Nickelodeon in recent years

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of the modern Nick Jr shows like PAW Patrol (even if it's a pretty decent show) and Peter Rabbit, this was a nice return to the "classic" style of Nick Jr. While it has some typical modern-y stuff, It's still a fun show!!!!!

Sunny Day should always be my favorite while I'm in high school

I grew up in a family with three girls and to only know Sunny Day is one of my favorite Nick Jr. shows besides Paw Patrol. First of all I really like the little girl, Sunny Minerva Day. She's so cute! I like her because she's 10-years-old. My other favorite character is Blair because she's a manicurist/pedicurist. She is also 10-years-old. Blair's cute too. My last favorite character is Doodle. If I can adopt any cartoon dog besides Chase from Paw Patrol, it would be Doodle.

It's good.....for anyone that likes to watch vapid drivel

What happened to Nick Jr? When I was a kid, they had tons of entertaining shows to watch such as Blue's Clues and The Backyardigans. They were good because they combined a solid curriculum with entertainment.

But, Prick Jr apparently wants to take us back to the 80s, where cartoons were cheap-looking, corny, were made to sell toys, and had fake educational value. Because all of their original productions since 2010 are all of those thing (Paw Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, the list goes on)....and Sunny Day is no exception.

First of all, this show is a Strawberry Shortcake copy. In Strawberry Shortcake, the characters are kids and they have jobs, and there are no parents. In Sunny Day, the characters are kids and they have jobs, and there are no parents. So Sunny Day is about this Mary-Sue named Sunny who runs a hair-salon. In every episode, the main characters have a problem, can't solve it, and then they solve it with hair-styling.

I thought media was trying to eliminate female stereotypes, but NO. In this show, the characters (especially Blair) worry about their looks and obsess over makeovers and other stereotypical girly things. I'd like to see a tomboy character in a modern Nick Jr show for once, instead of a girly girl. It makes me so sad to see such one-dimensional, shallow characters in animation.

The animation is also horrid. The characters are rendered in 2D, and they are very unpleasant on the eyes. They are animated in poor Adobe Flash. Everything else is rendered in VIDEO- BRINQUEDO LEVEL CGI. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. The only cartoon that mixes 2D and 3D correctly is The Amazing World of Gumball.

Just avoid this show. Horrible messages to kids and is nothing of substance. Watch Ready Jet Go instead.
