Meat Loaf as a vampire beast. In love with a very pretty girl who we see running through the forest. Fugitive Meat Loaf on a motorcycle being pursued by police. There's this castle...
I began collecting music videos featuring pretty girls back in the Late Eighties. Of course I had a preference for solo girls and girl groups, but I also went for the titles featuring models appearing on the screen.
Cutting that long story short, let me just say that I was flabbergasted when I first saw this lavishly-filmed mini- masterpiece. I wasn't used to music videos that were mini-movies. I couldn't believe my eyes that something that good appeared on the scene in my field.
This one set a whole new standard.
I have for years searched to find this on DVD. I have stood in a supermarket with baited breath, "ah, Bat Out Of Hell - now for the acid test - read the track list on the back cover." Then, Aw damn, all hopes shattered, it's everything but the one track I am looking for. Dejected as I put it back on the shelf. I'd have paid ten times the already high price. I still would. More than ever.
Years later on the Internet* I found a Meat Loaf compilation that looked so promising, the title was included, but I couldn't be sure if it was the original video. Only way to know for sure was to order it. But no, turned out it was a concert performance. Curses, back to the drawing board.
*yeah, I downloaded it. But a download doesn't have shop quality. And the downloaded sound of this particular title comes out kinda scrawny and doesn't do the song justice. Back in my VHS days, I had it loud and proud with the motorcycle sound raw and Mr. Meat Loaf belting it out.
Why is this jewel so exclusive? Extensive searches on the Internet failed to find me The Real Thing. I hope I made a mistake, but suspect NOT.
I want the original music video. I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR it, BUT I WON'T give up.
