Trivia
Early in the game, a group of soldiers can be seen lying dead in one of the surface caverns. This is the Galactic Federation Special Squadron that was sent to wipe out the Metroids, but were killed themselves. They are mentioned in the manual of Metroid II: Return of Samus (1991), but this is the first time that they are actually shown onscreen.

Crazy credits
Following the credits, there is an additional scene on the surface of SR-388, where a native Hornoad gnaws on one of Proteus Ridley's discarded mechanical claws, when it is attacked and mimicked by an X parasite, setting the stage for Metroid: Fusion (2002).

Great 2D Sci-Fi adventure

After a long wait, Samus is back again in a new Metroid game that is full of everything that Metroid fans love. It's got stunning graphics, a great Sci-Fi atmosphere and the iconic power up and features that Metroid fans love. It is a very well constructed and designed game with an intricate layout to explore with that feeling of isolation that you come to expect from a Metroid game, It's still doesn't compare to the original Metroid games like Super Metroid and Prime, but it is a great effort from Nintendo once again listening to what the fans want to see in a Metroid game

It's difficult and challenging with the right amount of puzzles and environments to explore with a good soundtrack that matches the atmosphere of Metroid very well. Definitley buy it if you're a Metroid fan
