Marketed as a Final Destination film in Russia, where it's a common practice to retitle movies by connecting them to the widely known series, even if they have very little in common.
Aquaslash takes inspiration from a pitched script "Summer Slash" from horror podcaster Eric of Horrorscope. This was brought up and discussed in their Midsommar episode.
