- [first lines]
- Walter Louis: Chief! Chief! There's been another murder, at 21st and 22nd street!
- James Houston: God dammit, Walter, that's the fourteenth murder this month!
- Detective Henderson: Well, so far, all the victims have been male. Besides that, nothing connects them.
- Tom Cluz: Other than they are all dead! Ha ha!
- Tom Cluz: Listen, buddy. I don't like you. Here's the deal: I'm in charge, and you're just tagging along for the ride. You got that, buddy?
- [No response from Carter]
- Tom Cluz: I said do you understand?
- Devin Carter: Got any ideas to go with that?
- Tom Cluz: Are you even listening to me, you bell-end?
- Devin Carter: Listen here, Cluz. If we're going to be working together, you and I better start getting along now.
- Tom Cluz: Oh, so you think this is some sort of nineteen-nineties buddy cop film? You think we're going to be getting along fine, eating donuts in the park? You think we're going to have to learn some "underlined force-fed message" at the end? That's not how it works here, bud.
- Devin Carter: What are you talking about?
- Tom Cluz: Kapeesch?
- Devin Carter: Whatever you say, Tom.
- Tom Cluz: That's Detective Cluz to you, bell-end.
- Tom Cluz: Oh really? And what's your opinion on the matter, Sherlock?
- Devin Carter: I don't know, man, it's just- something I can't kick. It's got more holes than the plot of a noir parody film in it, and that's saying something.
