Six months later he’s unable to get over her death and his son Nick blames him for his mother’s death and won’t return his calls.
The final straw however comes when the agency calls him in for questioning, trying to frame her as a double agent and freezing him out. XYZ Films knows a good thing when they see it, and that’s why the studio preemptively purchased the U.S. rights to Skyline: Warpath, a sequel in the Skyline universe starring Iko Uwais and Scott Adkins. Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline) directs the threequel from his own script, with filming taking place in Indonesia. You can check out Uwais and Adkins in the first-look images from Skyline: Warpath above and below.
Joining Uwais and Adkins and cast members are Louis Mandylor, Randall J. Bacon, and Yayan Ruhain.
According to XYZ, the story for Skyline: Warpath picks up five years after Beyond Skyline. The plot “follows Sua (Uwais) as he leads The Resistance against the aliens. When he discovers the powerful alien Radial Gauntlet, he must deal with both the corrupt Eric (Adkins) and the army of alien invaders.”

Filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson discusses his long-gestating passion project, Boudica: Queen of War, and how finding the right person to play Boudica was crucial for the film's development. Johnson highlights the unique challenges of directing Boudica, a historical epic, compared to his previous action and martial arts films, emphasizing the need for authenticity and realism in portraying ancient warfare. The director expresses his admiration for leading lady Olga Kurylenko, praising her performance as Boudica and her ability to embody both the wife and mother as well as the warrior aspects of the character.
Filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson is a well-seasoned stuntman and stunt coordinator, which prepared him well for the travails of directing action movies. Johnson is well known for such action movie hits as Accident Man, Triple Threat, Avengement, and The Debt Collector movies, with his films often teaming him with high-level and respected martial arts stars like Scott Adkins,...

To quote the great Taylor Swift, “August slipped away like a moment in time.” September has arrived, and with it, a countdown to certain films and shows leaving Netflix at the end of the 30-day month. Penny Marshall’s “A League of Their Own” (1992) has one more month to teach you that “There’s no crying in baseball,” and why not watch it in support of the Prime Video series that can’t seem to catch a break? If you’re more in the mood for a childish story and magical whimsy, the person you need is “Nanny McPhee” (2005).
Franchise films exiting the streamer’s rotation this month include “Rocky,” “Rocky II,” “Rocky III,” “Rocky IV” and “Rocky V.” Along with those wrestling movies, other films departing at the end of September are “Snow White & the Huntsman,” “Star Trek,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Titanic” and “Warm Bodies.”

Somehow, when we weren't looking, summer was drawing to a close. It's somewhat alarming to realize that fall and winter are both right around the corner, creeping in, bringing cold darkness to us all! As the month changes over, the almighty Netflix algorithm giveth and taketh away. The streaming giant will be kicking several currently available titles to the curb to make way for more stuff, which means you better go through your queue and see what's hitting the bricks and what's sticking around. Luckily, we're here to help, breaking down exactly what's leaving Netflix in September 2023.

The “John Wick” franchise has a reputation for razzle-dazzle filmmaking and serving as demo reels for some of the world’s finest – or at least most promising – action movie stars. “John Wick: Chapter 4” is no exception, with Donnie Yen taking center stage alongside franchise star Keanu Reeves, as Hiroyuki Sanada and Marko Zaror lend prestige and support. Bringing the opposite of “prestige,” at least in terms of the role he plays in the Chad Stahelski-directed actioner, is Scott Adkins.
Adkins has made a name for himself as one of the preeminent filmmakers in the world of direct-to-consumer (DVD/VOD/streaming/etc.) action movies. The likes of Adkins, Michael Jai White, Tony Jaa, Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren hold court in low-budget genre flicks helmed by directors like Isaac Florentine, Jesse V. Johnson, Christian Sesma, and the Kirby Brothers, that emphasize quality action sequences delivered with visual...

MidWest WeirdFest have announced the full program for 2023. The 7th annual film festival – a cinematic celebration of of all things fantastic, frightening, paranormal, and just plain weird – takes place March 3rd – 5th, 2025 at the Micon Downtown Cinema in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Among the fest’s fantastic line-up of horror, sci-fi, underground and documentary cinema, are several fantastic films that will be premiering at the event. One of these is Braek (pictured above), a genre-bending crime caper come rural horror movie. Says Braek director John Fallon:
The making of Braek was a suicide mission and I couldn’t have pulled it off without my small yet efficient cast/crew. Better to go to war with 15 lions than a 100 sheep as they say. We are very proud to have our USA premiere at Midwest WeirdFest, a festival that I’ve always esteemed. Braek is more than just another ‘home invasion’ type...

"Just get rid of them both, whatever the cost." Another day, another bad Bruce Willis action movie. There's an official trailer available now for White Elephant, the latest from the mindless action filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson. When an assassination attempt goes wrong, an ex-marine-turned-mob enforcer is forced to set things right or face the wrath of his ruthless mob boss. If that sounds like nearly every other boring action film recently, it's because it is exactly that, and they're not doing much different besides just shaking the bottle each time. Bruce Willis & Michael Rooker star, along with Michael Rose, Olga Kurylenko, Vadhir Derbez, and John Malkovich. This looks so bland and awful, please don't waste any of your time on this. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Jesse V. Johnson's White Elephant, direct from YouTube: When an assassination attempt is witnessed by two cops, an ex-marine ...

Night at the Eagle Inn is the latest film from Erik and Carson Bloomquist. We’ve been following these filmmakers since way back in 2015 and their first short film The Cobblestone Corridor. Since then they’ve released films like Long Lost and Ten Minutes to Midnight; and now the pair have one of the most anticipated films on last year’s festival circuit making its digital debut in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Since the only thing harder than making a hit film is making another one, the question is, can they keep their streak alive?
Sarah Moss and her twin brother Spencer (Taylor Turner; Lillith) are on a mission to solve a dark mystery from their past. They were born prematurely, their mother died during childbirth.

We imagine it’s never thrilling to be recognized for your past work. Yet when you have action movie talents like Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor on hand, it makes absolute sense a certain type of fan will crop up—and likely need a likely beat down in some circumstances! That’s at least one humorous takeaway from a new exclusive clip of Payback: Debt Collectors 2, an action-thriller starring Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor.
In the film, Adkins and Mandylor star as a pair of debt collecting heavies who are muscle for a particular type of bad men—all while avoiding another group entirely that wants them dead. And in the scene we have below, the men known as French and Sue are starting their morning by getting hassled for the fact Mandylor used to star in a direct-to-video martial arts movie named Ninja. While Sue never technically starred in such a movie,...

To celebrate the release of Payback (aka Debt Collectors 2), we got the chance to sit down with star and executive producer Scott Adkins to chat about his latest action extravaganza.
Reprising his role as French from 2018’s The Debt Collector, Adkins, and co-star Louis Mandylor are back and up to their old tricks. Thrust into an explosively dangerous situation, the pair chase down various lowlifes while also evading a vengeful kingpin – just a normal day’s work for our dynamic duo.
In our exclusive interview, Adkins tells us about the sequel as dealing with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic both at home and after his new film Castle Falls (co-starring Dolph Lundgren) was shut down after its first day of filming. He also recounts his love of 80’s action cinema and director Sam Raimi, the latter of which is now directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – with...

Growing up action movies were, for me, second only to horror flicks as my go to genre. I used to scour the pages of Impact for news on the latest films and then pre-order the VHS at my local video shop – because yes, back in the day you could actually pre-order a video rental and I Always had to be first to rent my most-anticipated flicks! I mention this only because it was back in that era that the action movie star was king. Starting out with the likes of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the VHS era gave birth to a myriad of action movie superstars: guys like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Jeff Speakman, Jeff Wincott and the queen of action films Cynthia Rothrock… all of whom carved out careers in what were – for the most part – direct to video films.

From the title alone, you might imagine Debt Collectors to be a nightmare come true, following polite people who daily use the telephone to exact vengeance upon those poor souls among us who have fallen behind on their debt payments. Oh, how wrong assumptions can be! Instead, Debt Collectors sees the return of Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor as French and Sue, who previously teamed up in 2018's The Debt Collector. This time, "they're summoned to Las Vegas to collect from a dirty casino owner, who happens to be a vicious ex-lover of Sue's," according to the official synopsis. "Meanwhile, a notorious drug kingpin is on the warpath to kill French and Sue to avenge his brother's death. Facing danger from all angles, the pair...

“The Half of It,” a coming-of-age drama written and directed by Alice Wu, and actors Steve Zahn and Assol Abdullina were among the winners of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival’s slate of juried awards.
“The Half of It,” which will be released on Netflix on May 1, follows a shy, straight-a student named Ellie Chu who makes some extra money by writing papers for her high school peers. She reluctantly agrees to write a love letter for a lovesick jock to his crush, a girl Ellie also secretly loves. All three students go on a journey of complicated friendship and self-discovery in the drama-comedy film.
The Polish film “The Hater” by Jan Komasa won for best international narrative feature and “Socks on Fire” directed by Bo McGuire won for best documentary feature.

The Polish film “The Hater” by Jan Komasa won for best international narrative feature and “Socks on Fire” directed by Bo McGuire won for best documentary feature.

"She gave it up way too easy, French." Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted the first official trailer for Debt Collectors, also known as The Debt Collector 2, a sequel to the 2018 action crime thriller also titled The Debt Collector (also with Scott Adkins and also directed by former stuntman Jesse V. Johnson). As the title indicates, this time there are Two debt collectors who get into a whole load of trouble trying to collect from a dirty casino owner in Las Vegas. "Facing danger from all angles, the pair will have no other choice but to fight their way out of an explosively dangerous situation." Of course. Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor star as French and Sue, along with Vladimir Kulich, Mayling Ng, Louie Ski Carr, Charity Collins, and Marina Sirtis. This looks exactly like the extra dumb, packed with pointless action, barely bargain bin, pile of filmmaking junk you're expecting it to look like.

Scott Adkins, one of our favorite action stars, and Louis Mandylor, one of our favorite off-beat actors, reunite with ace director Jesse V. Johnson -- yes, another favorite! -- in a new trailer for Debt Collectors. As in The Debt Collector (2018) -- refresh yourself by watching that trailer -- Adkins and Mandylor return as French and Sue, the titular characters, who are very good at cracking heads, kicking butt, escaping danger, and aggressively chasing down those who do not pay what they owe. The new film picks up right where the last one left off. This time, "they're summoned to Las Vegas to collect from a dirty casino owner, who happens to be a vicious ex-lover of Sue's. Meanwhile, a notorious drug kingpin is...

Blockbuster season might not be happening this summer, but that doesn’t mean audiences will be left without new movies. “Debt Collectors” is here to fill any action movie-shaped hole left by closed theaters, and the new trailer is here to get your adrenaline pumping.
French is back in the follow up to 2018’s “The Debt Collector.” The sequel sees him and his fellow debt collector, Sue, chasing down low-lifes who owe money to their boss, Tommy, and getting that money by any means necessary.

As a big fan of Triple Threat, I'm happy to hear that director Jesse V. Johnson's The Mercenary is coming soon to DVD and Digital. A new trailer reinforces the feeling. To quote myself: "Over the past couple of years, I've watched and enjoyed Johnson's Savage Dog (2017), Accident Man (2018), and The Debt Collector (2018), which established his credentials as a card-carrying member of the 'action first, talk whatever' club of filmmaking." Triple Threat did not disappoint. Dominiquie Vandenberg (Triple Threat) stars in The Mercenary as Maxx, "a legionnaire turned mercenary," according to the official synopsis. "When a mission in South America goes wrong Maxx is left for dead, but he...

Last week Scott Adkins took to the red carpet with his cast to premiere revenge thriller Avengement in London. Adkins has made quite a name for himself in the action movie arena, and Avengement is his latest brutal outing. Acting as producer as well as star, Adkins has gathered a decent cast around him here, including Thomas Turgoose, Nick Moran, Craig Fairbrass, Beau Fowler, Kierston Wareing and Louis Mandylor.
We have interviews with Adkins and Turgoose from the carpet of the Stratford East Picturehouse where they talk about developing the new movie. They talk about strength of story and character development as well as impactful action, and why it’s important to make these films here in the UK.
Avengement Premiere Interviews
Synopsis
While granted leave from prison, a lowly criminal evades his guards and returns to his old haunts to take revenge on the people that made him a cold hearted killer.

Writer/director Jesse V. Johnson and actor Scott Adkins have developed a very interesting creative relationship over the past two years. Working in the largely ignored realm of "straight to video” film releases, the duo has put together a string of meagerly budgeted action films that have impressed critics and fans of action cinema in equal measure with their quality. If their films like Savage Dog, Accident Man, and The Debt Collector had been released in the 1990s it would have not seemed out of place to see them on a marquee beside films like Under Seige or Sudden Death and they likely would have been financially successful crowd pleasures as well. The films made by the duo are a throwback to a simpler style...

"This ends tonight." "Shock and awe, baby!" Well Go USA has released an intense official trailer for the "major martial arts action event" movie titled Triple Threat, the latest from stuntman director Jesse V. Johnson. The action ensemble is about a hit contract that's taken out on a billionaire's daughter intent on bringing down a major crime syndicate. This trailer is really going all out hyping this up, claiming it's the "biggest action event" of the year. Let's see. Here's the official Us trailer (+ poster) for Jesse V. Johnson's Triple Threat, direct from YouTube: A down-and-out team of mercenaries ...

"So we're supposed to be debt collectors, yeah? We didn't collect anything." An official international trailer has debuted for an action comedy titled The Debt Collector, which is the same title as a 1999 film starring Billy Connolly & Ken Stott. This new The Debt Collector is executive produced by and stars Scott Adkins, who plays a classically-trained martial artist who takes a job as a debt collector for the mob. The typical plot involves a client that "pulls him into a situation deeper than could ever be expected." Also starring Louis Mandylor, Michael Pare, Tony Todd, and Vladimir Kulich. This looks like a crazy violent, awkward dark comedy, buddy movie and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Could be good, could be bad? Take a look. Here's the first international trailer (+ poster) for Jesse V. Johnson's The Debt Collector, from YouTube: A classically-trained martial artist (Scott Adkins...

I will readily admit that I have fallen into debt in the past and experienced not so charming people encouraging me to pay up. But. If Scott Adkins knocked on my door and asked me to pay what I owed, I would never dream of saying no. In the first trailer for The Debt Collector, however, we see a few people who haven't gotten that message yet. Watch it below and start saving up money now so you can see The Debt Collector when it opens in June 2018. Louis Mandylor, Michael Pare, Tony Todd and Vladimir Kulich also star. Jesse V. Johnson directed. P.S. Note that the trailer may be considered Nsfw (Not Safe For Work), due to profanity and glimpses of certain bare...
