Todd Martin adapted "Happy Anniversary!' from a short story he wrote back in 2005.
"Happy Anniversary!" was originally going to be featured in another horror anthology that was released in 2016. However, screenwriter Todd Martin left that project due to "creative differences" with the film's producer.
