This documentary really does a great job at showcasing the vulnerability and rawness of a high school environment in the 2010's involving the rapid increase of social media influence as well as a faculty that is struggling to assert authority over their students. Highly recommend for anyone, especially ones who feel nostalgic about the dysfunctions of high school culture.
I hope this show ends up filming at different high schools nationwide in each season to keep things more interesting.

I was really excited when I first saw the premise of the show. However when I saw it, it was a big disappointment. The members that go back are picked to fulfill a role. They seek out certain groups to see how the see high school. A lot of the members picked are doing it to better understand the experience for themselves instead of trying to showcase these real life high school student. The 25 year old women with the pink hair seem to be there in order for it to help her career or a paper or book she might write in the future. She seemed like a parent and was so far removed from any of the students. I really didn't see the point of the series. The only thing new I found out is students are allowed to use cell phones in class...and the student body is a lot more tolerant than it use to be.
The show was made with great intention to understand high schoolers in depth. With those undercovers, I, who's far away from American culture got to see some real life about the students in school and what they suffer. I watched til the end. And learning that all those students that got close to the participants have turned into a more motivating life with goals, it really touched me. The senior staff from highland park seem truly amazing, they care about their students and education. The participants were genuine and contributed a lot. I hope things will be better for the schoolers and school systems. All kids deserve a good future. Thanks you for producing this show.
