Jane Fonda is set to receive the SAG Life Achievement Award, considered the highest tribute by SAG-AFTRA, at next year’s SAG Awards. The famed actress and activist will be the the 60th recpient of the kudo.

“Jane Fonda is a trailblazer and an extraordinary talent; a dynamic force who has shaped the landscape of entertainment, advocacy and culture with unwavering passion,” said SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher, as the award was announced on Thursday morning. “We honor Jane not only for her artistic brilliance but for the profound legacy of activism and empowerment she has created. Her fearless honesty has been an inspiration to me and many others in our industry.”

Fonda will be given the honor during the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which Netflix will stream live on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at 8 p.m. Et / 5 p.m. Pt.

Adding to an acclaim-filled 2019, “Leaving Neverland” took home the top award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special at Saturday night’s Creative Arts Emmys.

The two-part series chronicles the accounts of James Safechuck and Wade Robson, who each allege that as children they were victims of sexual abuse by Michael Jackson. Each of them recount their experiences, explaining the pattern of action and manipulation they say culminated in criminal and predatory action on Jackson’s part.

Accepting the award at Saturday evening’s ceremony was director Dan Reed, who was also nominated in the Documentary/Nonfiction Directing category as well. The film was nominated for three additional awards: Editing, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing.

The Producers Guild of America will present producer and actress Jane Fonda with the 2019 Stanley Kramer Award, the guild announced Thursday.

The award is generally given to a specific film as represented by its producer team. Fonda is just the second individual to receive the award since it was established in 2002, with the other being Sean Penn in 2010. Fonda is being recognized for her lifetime activism and philanthropic work.

Fonda will be presented with the award at the 30th annual PGA Awards on Jan. 19 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.

Jane Fonda believes the downfall of Leslie Moonves won’t be the last we’ll see among powerful entertainment industry executives.

“It’s a shame he didn’t behave, [but now] it’s come back to get him,” Fonda said at Thursday night’s Los Angeles premiere of the HBO documentary “Jane Fonda in Five Acts” at the Armand Hammer Museum.

Moonves departed on Sunday amid a cascade of sexual assault and misconduct allegations.

“This has been happening for a long time and it’s been an epidemic of behavior like this on the part of people who have power,” Fonda said. “I think the #MeToo movement has started an avalanche. And it’s only the beginning.”

Hollywood legend Jane Fonda wants to work with Quentin Tarantino and has asked Michael Madsen to make it happen. The pair were filming an online talkshow for cosmetics brand L’Oreal on the Croisette in Cannes on Monday when the subject came up. Asked if she was interested in working with a director like the “Pulp Fiction” helmer, Fonda said: “Yeah, in a blue minute I’d work with Quentin.
