Created as an entry for 2018 Treklanta Star Trek fan film competition.
Visual effects were done using some of the free-to-use stock footage and green screen videos online while the director edited them together by either slowing the effects down or posting them over one another to make them match up as best as possible.
Actor Christian Vasquez, who is also a cosplayer, channeled Scotty from The Original Series while playing the Dr. Bashir character to help make the alternate reality even harder to comprehend and more distorted.
The transporter room and bridge scenes were filmed in a library meeting room with cast and crew putting up whatever they could find, and the director brightening up scenes in post, to make it look passable for a moody looking starship.
