Meg Ryan is not standing by silently and letting people label her actor son Jack Quaid a nepo baby, a term used for kids of famous parents. Quaid is the son of Ryan and actor Dennis Quaid.

In a new interview, Ryan defends her son of the label, calling it “dismissive.”

“Jack is really talented. He’s more of a natural than I’ll ever be. That nepo stuff is so dismissive of his work ethic, his gifts, and how sensitive he is to the idea of his privilege,” she told Glamour magazine.

Quaid currently stars in Amazon’s Prime Video series The Boys in the role of Hugh “Hughie” Campbell. Ryan recalled Quaid’s talent when he starred in a play he was cast in at school.

HBO Max’s “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai” is set for a world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 13.

Produced by Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros. Animation, the highly awaited animated prequel series to the now classic film franchise will see its first episode bow at Annecy’s biggest auditorium, the lakeside Bonlieu’s Grande Salle.

The world premiere will be attended by executive producers Tze Chun and Brendan Hay, along with Joe Dante, director of the “Gremlins” films and consulting producer for the series. They will participate in a post screening Q&a discussion about the making of the 10-part half hour series.

Netflix has confirmed that 56 new original series, movies and specials will be debuting on the streaming service in January. Leading off the lineup are the final seasons of some of the biggest shows on Netflix, including the Emmy-winning animated series “BoJack Horseman,” the family favorite “Anne With an E” and the Ashton Kutcher comedy series “The Ranch.”

Among those shows launching their first seasons in the first month of the year are the Tyler Perry family drama “A Fall From Grace,” the sly satire “Medical Police” and the crime thriller “The Stranger.”

Also look for the sophomore edition of the British import “Sex Education,” season 3 of “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and season 6 of “Grace & Frankie” with real-life pals Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Several national treasures are coming to Netflix in June, but only one stars Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger. Other gems set to hit the streaming service next month besides “National Treasure” include Disney animated classics “101 Dalmatians” and “Tarzan,” as well as Colin Firth-starrer “The King’s Speech” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

Incoming television shows include Season 8 of “Portlandia,” Season 14 of “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Season 5 of Marvel’s “Agents of Shield.” “Queer Eye” Season 2 and “The Break With Michelle Wolf” Season 1 are among the original series set to debut on the streaming platform.

Netflix has confirmed that a slew of new original series will be debuting on the streaming service in June, including the second season of the Emmy contender “Glow.” And there will also be new to Netflix seasons of some of your favorites from other networks, including season 14 of “Grey’s Anatomy” and season 8 of “Portlandia.” Likewise, there will be plenty of movies making their first Netflix appearances including the latest installment in the “Star Wars” franchise, “The Last Jedi,” and the Oscar-winning “The King’s Speech.”

Of the new Netflix originals, several stand out as particularly binge-worthy, including the the sophomore edition of “Luke Cage” and the series finale of “Sense8.” And there will be weekly episodes of “The Break with Michelle Wolf,” fresh from her stint as host of the White House correspondents dinner.

With June around the corner, a fresh round of shows and movies will soon arrive on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.

Netflix kicks off the month with some fan favorites for the first blistering hot days of the summer with “National Treasure,” “Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok,” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” Several binge-worthy shows will be returning for viewers for another season, including “Glow” Season 2, “Marvel’s Luke Cage” Season 2, and the “Sense8” season finale.
