Do you have fond memories of "Bionic Commando" but, for whatever nightmarish reason, can't put your hands on a copy? Well fear not, because "Rearmed" has you more than covered. It's true to the original NES spirit while offering major graphical upgrades; good enough to stand in for the original. It is a gorgeous looking game and the fluid animation heightens the gameplay considerably. And I love Nathan's cocky personality in the cutscenes, they are a blast.
But more than just aesthetically pleasing, it is a lot of fun. The bionic arm is way more functional here, useful in defense against enemies and offering more creativity in solving logistical problems. More to the point: the swinging aspect of the game is fairly addicting, so a huge win there.
I had a lot of fun with this game, and the replay value is a pleasant surprise. "Rearmed" had big shoes to fill and it more than accomplishes that mission.
Well worth your time.
