The trailer shows a street sign in one of Drew's dreams that reads "Elm St." and "W Craven Ave.". This a homage to Wes Craven, creator of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise who passed away in 2015.

Nice

Contrary to the other review, Freddy was serious in the original. He didn't crack jokes. He just stalked each person to terrify them then he finished them off. The one liners and overall comedic tone of the sequels is one of the reasons that they never came close to living up to the original. I think this is a solid attempt to bring those days back.
