The apartment scenes were filmed in one day. Travon Walton (Butch) improvised a majority of his lines. Benjamin Onyango was considered for the role of Mr. Kamau. Mari Orstavic improvised drinking the Whiskey Bottle. Kofi Boakye improvised the "Can I have some more whiskey?" line, and the other characters' responses were genuine.
