Annie Starke doesn’t want to talk about last Christmas. The host of the freshly minted Magnolia Network show, “The Mountain Kitchen,” admits her family dinner was a disaster.
“I probably had too many drinks in the morning,” Starke tells me, laughing. “I don’t know what happened, but I messed up. I burned the absolute hell out of the ham and it was terrible. I screamed so loud that even my deaf aunt heard me. She can’t hear the giant freight train that goes by her house but she heard me scream. But we were like, ‘Let’s just wolf this down and move on with it.’”
“The Mountain Kitchen” is shot in Bozeman, Montana, on Starke’s mom Glenn Close’s ranch.

Disney reaches a new milestone with “Encanto”, the studio’s first feature-length animated musical set in Latin America (watch the new trailer below). Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Vivo”) contributing eight songs that help explore the rich cultural diversity of Colombia through the magical Madrigal family and their enchanted village. They all possess superpowers, except Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz from “In the Heights”), whose quirky ordinariness makes her feel like an outsider.
The idea started percolating well before directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush finished their Oscar-winning “Zootopia.” They both decided on a musical follow-up, especially after Bush told Howard how much he enjoyed working on “Moana” with Miranda. “It seemed like this natural convergence and in talking to Lin, he [told us] how he always wanted to do a movie about Latin America with Disney animation,” said Howard, whose previous musical experience was directing “Tangled.”

Titled after the Southern Italian tradition that made its way across the Atlantic to become a part of many Italian-American families’ Christmas Eve celebrations, Robert Tinnell’s adaptation of his own graphic novel/recipe book Feast of the Seven Fishes does well to center itself upon its food even if the people eating it prove the real focal point. It’s probably not a coincidence then that most of our attention is specifically spent on seven teens with a direct or peripheral connection to dinner at Grandpa Johnny’s (Paul Ben-Victor). What transpires wouldn’t be the same without each of them participating similar to how the meal couldn’t survive the removal of a single seafood favorite. And as the fish follow the baccalà’s culinary lead, the characters find themselves taking their cues from Tony (Skyler Gisondo).

"I turn my back for one minute, and you guys screw up Christmas!" Shout Studios has debuted a trailer for a "deliciously warm and inviting, feel-good family gathering" film titled Feast of the Seven Fishes, from writer / director Robert Tinnell. A slice of life story that follows a large Italian family on Christmas Eve as they prepare for the traditional "Feast of the Seven Fishes" (also an Italian cookbook), reminisce about the past, and seek love in the future. Set in 1983, just days before Christmas, the Oliverio family readies their Feast of the Seven Fishes, an Italian tradition stretching back to the old country of Calabria. The full cast includes Skyler Gisondo, Madison Iseman, Josh Helman, Addison Timlin, Ray Abruzzo, Lynn Cohen, with Joe Pantoliano and Paul Ben-Victor. This seems like such an oddly quaint film for these days - nothing crazy happens, just a family getting together for the holidays with a big feast.

Bad Boys 3, billed as Bad Boys for Life, will see Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back together in January 2020.
Bad Boys 3 or Bad Boys for Life, has been, up until now, a long-kept secret. The difficulty, as producer Jerry Bruckheimer said back in summer 2013, centered on the task of reuniting its duo headlining personnel. Back then, he was "trying to find a hole in Will Smith's schedule."
Having finally overcome dilatory issues, the long-awaited threequel revives the popular buddy cop film franchise of 1995's Bad Boys and 2003's Bad Boys II, both of which were directed by Michael Bay. While he ultimately dropped out of directing the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence revival vehicle, he would be replaced by a duo of up-and-comers in Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
Now, Bad Boys for Life, the third film in the series is ready to once again ask the ever-pertinent question,...
