P.J. Marino wrote the first draft of Captain Tsunami over seven days during Christmas break while visiting his parents in Florida, mostly by the pool, overlooking the inter-coastal waterway.
One of P.J. Marino's favorite acting gigs was as "Luigi" on Video Game Reunion (2011). He was thrilled to work with lots of the same crew on Captain Tsunami, including associate producer Alex Lorant, sound mixer Sean Oakley, producer Amy Bloom, actor Craig Frank, and director Aaron Sherry.
Writer P.J. Marino used to read a children's alphabet fish book to his young sons. They'd always giggle the hardest when he got to certain letters/fish. This inspired P.J. to create the legend of Captain Tsunami and his army of sea creatures.
