Movie said to be sequel have no connection from first part , it's just a ploy to grab eyeball , story is nt clear and screenplay is uneven , mahesh bhatt returned to direction after 21 years to give such a disaster, Alia bhatt hamming in every scene Sanjay dutt doesn't look interested Aditya roy kapur is wasted he is no where in second half I think bhatt have lost their touch in past few years It will add up to their flop list

The first question that crosses your mind after having watched Sadak 2 is, for whom has director Mahesh Bhatt made this film? Is it for the Indian audience - the upper strata, the commoners, the hoi polloi? Or is it targetted at the international audience?
Sadak 2 is neither novel nor experimental. It falls flat on its face! While bits and pieces of the first half are somewhat watchable, the film goes completely awry in its post-interval portions. A disaster of epic proportion! Seriously, what was Mahesh Bhatt and Suhrita Sengupta thinking while penning this apology of a script? Strangely, director Mahesh Bhatt's style is abstract this time around, which fails to catch the viewer's fancy. He seems completely clueless.
To sum up, there are good films and there are bad films. Sadak 2 is neither good nor bad. It's just excruciatingly boring! In addition, there are too many coincidences all through, which totally seem unreal and unbelievable. Sadak 2 is over two hours of complete drivel.

I think hype should be in proportion to the quality of content. Otherwise movies fall really flat on their faces. I have faint memories of the older one being decent, definitely not a 2, with what I am rating this.
This movie was the epitome of mediocrity. The acting was over done by most, insincere drama in most of the places, India's beaten to death concept of showing some religious dude in bad light, and Alia's cliche'd angry loud young girl acting which is getting really really old and boring now.
And most importantly right from the start, unless you are really distracted, you can sense if the director has passionately applied a vision or not. Half and hour in, it is just not visible in this movie. Too bad fantastic film crew and technical teams are misused by mediocre directors like these.

I tried to keep an objective perspective on this movie and the trailer really disappointed me but the film overall was so painful to sit through.
Sadak 2 shows Ravi mourning his dead wife but soon finds purpose in life after meeting Aryaa.
With all the controversy surrounding the Bollywood film industry, I try to stay honest and objective towards every film I see and believe me when I say, Sadak 2 is the WORST film I've seen in 2020 so far and its issues lie in its outdated script. This film didn't even need to be called Sadak 2 as it barely adds anything to the first film. I even tried to watch this as a comedy and there were some funny moments but so much of it was boring that I wanted it to end as soon as possible. If this came out in 90s, it would have probably worked as I don't think I've seen something so outdated in a long time.
The story is fairly predictable but Mahesh Bhatt and Suhrita Sengupta add a few twists along the way. These twists come out of nowhere and there is zero build up for any of them. I cannot forget to mention how bad the villains were. They're so poorly developed and underutilised. Mahesh Bhatt could've told this story in a non-linear fashion which would have enhanced the story and characters in some way but this film takes none of those options. It decides to reveal everyone's backstory in the most uncreative and lazy way: exposition. Its storytelling methods tell me nothing about Mahesh Bhatt's skill as a director. There are no risks taken to present a bland story like this in an unconventional and original way. It's told in the most basic way possible.
The song placements were so obnoxious. When stakes began to rise, for some reason a song would be played right after it. Not only is it tonally inconsistent but it relieves any tension the film may have built up. Then there were little things which got on my nerves. There's this scene where Jisshu Sengupta plays a voice message of Alia Bhatt and before she speaks, the message is already halfway done but then she speaks for around two minutes which makes no sense. This shows the lack of care and effort that went into making Sadak 2. The film tries to spread the message of how God has turned into a business where the vulnerable are being taken advantage of and how you can find purpose in life after dealing with a loss but none of these are explored in greater detail.
I liked Sanjay Dutt's performance here even though he had little to work with. Alia Bhatt is one of the best actresses working today and did an okay job. There are other films where I feel she gave a more memorable performance. Aditya Roy Kapur is completely wasted here. Jisshu Sengupta tries but the material he had to work with was so bad.
There are quite a few scenes that are unintentionally funny. I honestly couldn't take Makrand Deshpande's character seriously and some scenes with Alia Bhatt shouting and a scene involving an owl were quite funny. However, there is no point watching Sadak 2. Nothing about it is remotely enjoyable or special. It's a very forgettable film and one I won't ever see again.

Aa it was a Friday evening so I watched this movie on OTT, but this is honestly so bad that could not tolerate for 40 mins and I had to switch to some other hollywood flick, worst acting by Alia Bhatt who is daughter of director of this movie, direction is so bad that a newcomer can do better work then this, actor is wasted in this movie and used as a prop of lead actress who has drowned the good actors also with her, Sanjay Dutt did decent acting with limited role given to him but it's only because of his fan following, overall nit worth watching even once, you will waste 120 minutes, better to watch some good documentary on nat geo or discovery rather than wasting time on a poor sequel.

Just watch it and then YOU decide how was the movie. I know the biggest controversy of this decade has been connected with the maker of this movie : Mahesh bhatt. I don't know what his role was in it. But if we talk JUST about the movie it is phenomenal. I haven't seen such an emotional story since years. Sanjay Dutt's most heartwarming and powerful role that only Mahesh bhatt could make. It is surprising that Mahesh after taking a break of 20 long years could make a comeback with a strong movie like this, considering the time and situation in which it released. I will not write any spoilers because I want you to watch the movie. Many people have worked behind the scenes in the making of this movie whether it be technicians, crew members, spotboys, composers, lyricists and many more. Don't just ignore it because of one single man. You will not regret watching it. Take the film as a film and judge it like one.

After the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, the people of India took it upon themselves to give him justice by low rating the movie and negatively publicize it out of sheer emotion and empathy towards him. The movie was at best a one time watch as the story is not intriguing enough to keep you at your seat. Main focus of the movie was Alia where she gave a good performance. Sanjay Dutt bring all the energy into the movie despite being the most passive character, he is just the most watchable character in the movie. Movie is not as good as Sadak, but it would be unfair to give such low ratings based on suicide of my favourite actor. Hence, I'm giving it 8/10 for no reason. ;)

I liked the plot. It was quite interesting. There were a few parts where the actors did not act too well but otherwise I think was good. Everyone just hates this movie because of the negative attention that Mahesh Bhatt has received recently for the nepotism and everything. I feel like people should not just form an opinion about a movie without watching it. I am pretty sure that the same people who are hating on this movie are the ones who see the names of the cast members before watching a movie. Lets be honest here, most people only watch movies of they know there are actors with famous surnames in them. I also believe that all actors should given a fair chance. If the audiences like them, it shouldn't be such a big deal if they get more roles. I suggest that you watch the movie before forming an opinion about it.

This movie shouldnt have been released at all Because It's a Time waste to watch this movie. First Half was Ok. But Second Half ...It was so Boring that it was a major task to keep my eyelids Open. I found Alia and aditya acting ok but others such as sanjay dutt were major disappointment. The movie was so slow. Story made no sense. This movie tarnished the image Of Disney Hotstar. One of the worst movie of this year....
Dear Users,
I am going to tell you the genuine review, irrespective of circumstances going on.
1. This movie unable to catch viewer attention.
2. Week Story, ill-logical movie and Poor acting skills by actors.
3. Good singers are missing from this movie.
4. This is not family movie. There are lots of kissing movements in movie.

Mahesh Bhatt back with Sadak's sequel after 29 years. Again a Love Story wrapped up in revenge and revenge against godman. The story is predictable, boring and cliche. Acting wise Sanjay Dutt is very good, Makarand Deshpande was very good, Aditya Roy Kapur was okay, nothing extraordinary. Alia Bhatt was seem overacting. Music is one of positive in movie. Cinematography is also good. But direction is boring and predictablity is main issue.

Despite of all controversies and so many dislikes, I still decided to watch the movie because of two reasons- first one being the music. For 2 decades (90s-2000s), Vishesh films gave us countless hits. From Aashiqui to Jannat 2, we all grown up while listening those songs. And second reason being the storyline. He never came with good cast but the topics of vishesh films are always unique. Few great examples are Kalyug, Awarapan, Crook, Angaarey etc.
So with these 2 reasons, I thought I should take a chance. Idea behind story is great but very badly executed. In terms of music too, its havent met expectations.
Performances wise, its good.
I dont recommend anything. Watch if you were/are fan of Vishesh Films production house.

I am big fan of Alia madam. I started watching the movie with lots of expectations and excitement. First few minutes were ok, but slowly it became boring. Story line is dead slow. You cannot watch the movie for more than 1 hr.
I hope Alia madam will be more careful in selecting scripts in future. One request to you maam, please don't disappoint your fans.
Even after whole negative propaganda being circulated about Mahesh Bhatt, I watched the movie and especially because of Mahesh Bhatt, I always liked his cinema. For me the added benefit was Sanjay Dutt. But the movie turns out to be a dud. Far below my expectation.
The only saving grace was watching Sanjay Dutt. Alia Bhatt is so talented but she overacted in almost many scenes and so was Aditya Roy Kapur. He simply can't act.
Music was above average, but everything was so wasted. Mahesh Bhatt should never have made this movie. No storytelling, no strong plot and no any direction whatsoever.

Aditya also did good😍1st half was fully managed by him
SANJAY DUTT DID IT SO WELL HE WAS THE HIGHLIGHTER OF THE WHOLE STORY
YOU CAN WATCH IT WONT DISAPPOINT YOU😗

THE FILM IS NOT BAD. I'M NOT A FAN OF ALIA BHAT OR ADITYA ROY KAPOOR OR SANJAY DUTT. BUT I HAVE TO TO SAY THAT THE FILM IS QUITE GOOD. YES, IT IS TRUE THAT THE STORYLINE OF THIS FILM IS NOT MAINTAINED ACCORDING TO ITS TITLE OR THE BEGINING OF THIS FILM BUT THERE'S NOTHING TO TROLL OR GIVE SUCH BAD RATINGS.....
GOOD LUCK TO ADITYA. HOPE YOU WILL DO SUCH GOOD FILMS LIKE MALANG.

Apart from all the nonsense of negative publicity, the movie was complete trash material from the word go. Alia Bhatt worst performance till date and Aditya Roy Kapoor will certainly have nightmares after watching it himself. Then again, one hit movie boy wonder has got not much acting skills.
Movie revolves around only and only Sanjay Dutt and yes the memory flash backs of Sadak 1 was the only good thing about.
Mahesh bhatt direction was simply horribly horrible. There was no continuity in the movie, half heart direction. An extra appearance of Pooja Bhatt could have add some excitement to the movie, but guess she saw what horror his father was making.
Nevertheless nothing to watch in it and complete bored movie.

I am not much about movie controversy. If it's good, then I will tell you that. But Sorry Sadak 2 is an illogical drag.First half I survived only because of Himachal and it's beauty which too this movie fails to capture to it's full potential. The acting is pathetically lazy.Sanjay dutt seems unable or unwilling to deliver dialogues. He is not even trying.Alia is okayish. The main villain(don't know his name)is unintentionally hilarious. The songs are impactless. And above all the script which is just LAZY! Mahesh Bhatt intented to earn few quick bucks by encashing his old franchise. But in the age of OTT when we have marvellous movies to watch and with so many options, this is a waste of time.
My suggestion: Don't waste ur time
I would rather watch the old Sadak again.

Hotstar's SADAK 2 is no match to the original Sadak. Except for Sanjay Dutt and Jisshu Sengupta's acting, the movie has nothing exciting to offer. Sanjay looks solid in his role but had limited scope to prove his full acting skills. It is the same case with Jisshu. He is a terrific actor but again, no scope of improvement. The original had depth and great characters, sply Sadashiv playing the role of Maharani. This one has a character that looks like a comedian. What a waste of talent.
The movies' background score is another villain here that makes this movie a dull affair and depressing. Pooja has no scene here. Just her voice. Alia and Aditya's roles are sketched so badly that you wonder if the writers were just filling the blanks.
The movie is anyways marred with nepotism and on top of it, the poor direction and story will make it just a bad experiment.
Suggest you skip this and stick to the original Sadak!

Sadak 2 review :
Sadak is my all time favorite 90s film. Featuring Sanjay Dutt as the sanki taxi driver Ravi who rescues his lady love Pooja Bhatt from clutches of the transgender pimp Maharani, Sadak had terrific performances, Nadeem Shravan's extraordinary music and pulsating action in the climax which made it one of Mahesh Bhatt's most successful as well as memorable film till date.
Unfortunately, Sadak 2 which has arrived twenty nine years later, is still stuck in the 90s. Starting as a road trip for which Alia Bhatt hires Sanjay Dutt as her cabbie, the inconsistent plot tries to cram in multiple characters and elements in to it. Aditya Roy Kapoor plays Alia's love interest who is falsely convicted by a sinister godman (Deshpande). Alia, labelled a mentally unstable person, is running away from her parents who are blind followers of that godman. Somewhere in all this mess, there is good ole Gulshan Grover who is turned in to a sidekick of sorts!!
Alia screaming or hamming in every scene she appears, Sanju Baba largely ineffective with not even one good fight scene accorded to him, Pooja Bhatt heard (not even seen!!) as a ghostly voice who only Sanju can hear and a tame villain in form of Makarand Deshpande who cannot achieve even ten percent of what the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar did as the menacingly evil Maharani makes Sadak 2 the biggest disappointment of the year. Skip it.
Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

The saving grace of sadak 2 is sanjay dutt. There is an innocence in his character which makes him lovable on screen. The next best was jishu sengupta as the bad dad. The cinematography and production values were good.
But the story has nothing new to offer, script was predictable, the fake guru angle was just unnecessary if the main villain was aarya's dad and how badly they ruined makhrand deshpande's character in the climax where he runs as if a mice runs after seeing a cat. Its a depressing storyline on the lines of logan. But unlike logan, it doesn't hit you emotionally. Most of the supporting cast were wasted especially gulshan grover. Nobody's character was properly developed apart from sanjay, alia and jishu's. Alia hams unnecessarily in some scenes.
On the whole sadak 2 is flawed but not a very bad film for me. One time watchable.
I don, t hav any words to even describe abt this film.. Its truly a great film i have never watched such story before.. It has a great story, emotional, romance revenge it has everything fr me.. My tears aren't still stopping coz my story is somewhat related to this film.. This movie is a masterpiece a treat to watch.. I can, t believe.. I never thought this film would be soo good i m sure even you people will love this film after watching it.. Alia and sanjay dutt outstanding performance.. Today i can say after watching this film alia is surely tge best actress of this generation.. I mean how can she do such diffrent roles in a beautiful and perfect way.. Its feels like the character is actually alia.. How can she act aooo realistic..i became her fan now..

I tried watching the movie keeping aside the nepotism fact but it turn out to be a disaster, Alia Bhatt's overacting and keeping Aditya off from second half made the plot like without a head and tail...
I wish I could rate it lower rating as I feel it doesn't deserve to be rated as 1 rating even.
I feel Alia Bhatt retire now giving back to back flop Kalank than Sadak.
