The name of the film is based on the qualification that had been given to Colombia as "The Happiest Country in the World". In 2017, Colombia had been listed as the second happiest country in the world, behind the Fiji Islands, according to the "World Happiness Report", a study financed by the UN that has been carried out for more than ten years. Three years later, a new study revealed that Colombians went from position 2 to 52 in the ranking that includes 149 countries and that analyzes different aspects in which Colombians do not feel good in the country. The study measured life expectancy, trust in the government, and the purchasing power of the country, aspects in which Colombians said they felt uncomfortable and lacked total confidence to be able to aspire to a better quality of life.
