I have quit watching countless Netflix drama series after an episode or two. More often than not theres nothing that hooks the audience in. Either the plot lacks character or the characters lack heart. This Korean based series draws you in on the first episode with the introduction of the series rookies. You see what drives them and you cant help but cheer them on. This is fresh material that I havent seen on Netflix in awhile. I hope there is a season 2.
No matter what your ethnicity, where you live, or nationality, love and compassion are the same. I cried, laughed and smiled through these episodes. This is one series I didn't just watch...I experienced.

Every summer, the South Korean television industry puts forth the best and most promising shows and crosses its fingers that the public falls in love. Of course, not every show can be a surefire win; it can often take weeks before a show hits its stride, or they may just lose their momentum and drop off altogether. Luckily, this show is the one that makes the public fall in love more and more after each of its episode.
Instead of the serious, bleak, and depressing atmosphere that recent South Korean police or detective series such as "Signal" or "Secret Forest", "Live" is very refreshing, heart-warming, and realistic. Just as the title shows us, this series does not heavily focus on police corruption or the police force's long, troubled history of misconduct toward the community it exists to serve. Instead, it paints a vivid, detailed picture of the police's daily struggles and how they overcome those day-to-day difficulties to fulfill their missions and somehow make their lives less miserable. These cops have to live their lives right, so they can help others live right. Again, this show does contain very optimistic underlying messages. It is relatable, especially for people who are in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
Moreover, what makes this show stand out is the acting of its cast, especially that of Bae Jung Woo and Jung Yu Mi, two of the most reliable actors in South Korean movie industry - Chungmunro. The soundtrack is awesome. The camerawork is good, too. All in all, this is one worth-watching show.

I had been watching a lot of K-drama and comedy series on Netflix and this one popped up on my recommendation list. I started watching the first episode and while the acting was excellent, the episode was a little slow and I wasn't hooked. That changed rapidly towards the end of the first episode. I ended up binge watching the entire series over a few days, often giving up sleep so I could watch "just a few minutes more". When I was done, I went back and re-watched a couple of episodes. Then I went back and binge watched the entire series a second time. This show is simply that good. I didn't want it to end.
The show follows the lives of the members of local police station as they deal with issues while on duty and in their everyday lives. The stories are very well developed and the acting is excellent. As the show progresses, the characters grow in depth and you find yourself becoming emotionally attached to them and caring about their outcomes. But be warned, there are some gut-wrenching moments in this show and there were several times I was brought to tears.
As other reviewers have stated, this show needs a season 2.

It's very difficult to explain all the things I felt watching this show. The cast here is impeccable. I've never watched a K-drama before, but ill say this. I'm seriously praying for a 2nd season. Superb acting. Superb script. Superb score. Best show I've ever seen. Huge thanks to the cast and creators. Thanks. Gracias. Much love.

Watched IRIS on NETFLIX, it was great. Now I'm watching 'LIVE' Korean police drama at its best. 18 episodes total, l'm on episode 15.
Wish episode 1 would bore me to death, instead i'm hooked on this show. Great story comes great acting from cast members.
This is NOT spoiler alert, LIVE will make you laugh, feel sad and cry along with the show Hope there will be 'LIVE' season 2.
Great original soundtracks and lastly, I also wish that SUBTITLE can display a little longer on screen.
I am now big fan of Yu-mi Jung, don't tell my wife that.
Live is a fantastic drama, which is equally devastating and inspiring to watch. This is a very realistic drama, and it doesn't hold back to show the brutal realities of the police force. The direction is incredible, the character development is compelling and the acting is amazing. The storytelling was excellent, the overarching plots & story arcs as well as episodic conflicts were well paced. This drama truly gives you a new perspective of life.

Having seen Brooklyn 99, Rookie Blue, The Shield, Without a Trace and Chicago PD, I was hoping for something similar in this series. What made the above mentioned series great are their captivating crime mystery, in depth character arcs, carefully crafted plots.
Live however, didnt delivery like any of them. Overall it is okay but can be way overly dramatic to the point of hysterics. Some of the police cases that comes up seems to be very similar to previous episode and repetitive. There seems to be a lack of creativity in the mystery of the crimes that they solve. As well there theme of having bad family upbringing seems to overly done and core of most characters problematic past. The element of blame-pushing is heavily focused on as the drama builder in each episode. The characters in the first half are done well to build the story, but becomes stale as well due to lack to real bonding between them.
Worth checking out if you're curious of South Korean police and their methods. If you're seeking an ok drama to pass the time, this could be it. Otherwise, for those looking for great police dramas check out one of these: Brooklyn 99, Rookie Blue, The Shield, Without a Trace and Chicago PD.
6.5/10.

Writing from Canada and this Korean police drama just ticks all the boxes. I have laughed hysterically and even cried and I rarely cry watching films or TV. This series takes you through every emotion without even realising it until an episode is over just how much it affected you. The acting is superb as is the directing and filming. Most of the Korean shows I watch from Netflix are hits for me: a few getting a second viewing regardless of how many episodes there are. There is something about the way Koreans approach movie making that is so fantastic and "Live" is another example of it. I will not give out any spoilers but if you are a fan of a great TV series this is one to watch. I really hope there is another season.
PS: I am not Korean...I am Deaf and will watch anything, from any country, as long as it has closed-captioning. :-)

I had seen this on my Netflix suggestions and ignored it, as I get a bit bored with cop shows in general. Then I saw a video on YouTube by a reviewerI rate, recommending it as an undervalued hit, so I took a look for myself. i'm so very glad I did.
Much like "Search WWW", the writers have allowed for the complexity of being a human to show through in the characterisations. No one is simply good or bad (at least of the main focus characters), and everyone is struggling to do the best they can with their individual situations. The acting was consistently strong across the board, and it was a nice commentary about how the public in the media can pile on about something they know very little truth about.
It's a salient reminder for us to always consider the wider implications of any situation we find people like the police in. Yes there are police who choose to make very bad decisions. But most of the time, most police are just trying to do their best to look out for the people in their community. It's easy to forget that when all we hear about are the extremes....
I was never much a fan of T.V dramas because of waiting until the next episode or season when a story line was not finished. Then I watched "Live" and my whole world was turned, the emotional roller coaster that this series brings to viewers, even an hardcore people, will be brought to tears. The cast did a great job of bringing there characters to life, which you must also commend the directors and producers. I'm not going to ruin it and tell you any spoilers, all I can say is that you really need to watch it, I really hope there's another season in the making. Make sure you stack up on the tissues, because It will make you laugh and will make you cry, believe it when I say it's worth your time.

I sa this show on Netflix Australia and instantly was addicted.
Live is captivating and all the cast, script and songs are amazing, i actually could watch the season all over again and not be bored. Korean shows have talented actors and I am watching these over English speaking shows, just because of the shows are so much better. I do hope that it gets picked up for a second season, I thought A Korean Odessy was great, but this show blows it out of the park.

This series is so well written by picturing the Police's point of view as humans. They still have to face their personal issues, their fear, the public pressures while still have to do their job well to serve the community. Well done to the scripwriter, directors and all the actors. You guys did a great job!

I'm finding S Korean made shows very refreshing. Also more realistic. This one did not disappoint. If only they would talk American. Ha Ha. The story is excellent. It was nice to see a show that didn't make cops look like bullies or idiots. They also did a good job on showing how today society treats it's hero's Like garbage that should be thrown out. I will watch more S Korean shows.
I have watched this because of Lee Kwang Soo but ended up falling in love with all the casts. I felt every characters emotions. It touched my heart in every ways i don't even know possible. Highly recommended. If you're thinking if it's worth the watch.
It is.
IT. DEFINITELY. IS.
This show is everything people are saying and so much more. It is beyond amazing in everyway. Wonderful acting, superb set and costume design, and great stories. The only thing i want more from this series is a season 2!
This show will make you both laugh and cry and think about life throughout the various episodes and situations the characters go through!
I was thoroughly entertained with each episode, and I kept wanting more whenever an episode ended. Now that I finished the show, I sure do wish we could get a second season!
The cast did really well with their acting, especially the main characters; loved to see how they developed throughout the show to becoming stronger characters.
The stories in-between the overall plot were also done well.
The music and background tracks were few and I did notice them repeat a bit too much near the end since I've heard them a lot, and yes while they were really good it could be better with a slightly bigger variety of tracks.
Definitely watch this show, you will have a blast!

This show makes me cry a lot. Cases will happen in life. Police fights for people who got injured. It's really important that police officers know their responsibility and job. Love the show!
A group of young cadets are assigned to their mentors at a city police station and this series is about the trials and tribulations they face. A well acted series with interesting stories showing the human side of the police force and also the circumstances which sometimes cause good people to commit crime. My only criticism would be the love story which taking into account the theme of many of the stories I found a little creepy as it gives the impression if the girl says she is not interested just hang in there and she will change her mind.

I watched so many Korean drama especially detective one and I feel korean drama has too many romance scene that dragging on. However, when I watched this drama, I feel really engage in the life of the characters since they act so comfortably & naturally with each other. Some of the characters can be a bit awkward at some scene but that makes it more natural & engaging. I cried heaps watching each episode & the romance scene is so natural. It was really fun to watch Kwang soo expressions when doing a romance scene. This drama is so different than the others & I really love it!

One of the best kdrama I have ever watched. There is no better dramas in the west. Koreans are really good at films and series. Their acting skills are really good. I recomend everybody who has never watch a Korean drama this serie. I felt the feeling that they are trying to give because everybody in this serie has acted really well I mean even the side lead or the actors and actresses that just showed up for one episode are really good at acting. All the crying all the smiling the happiness and saddness was really perceivable. I couldn't even realized the serie ended because I was really into it and I expected a new episode. The ending and the beginning I love it.
