Lucy's (Hassie Harrison) boyfriend Gene is played by James Paxton, the son of Bill Paxton. The elder Paxton played a supporting role in Club Dread alongside Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme.

Throughout the series, the static, exterior shot of the fire station in no way matches the exterior shots with the actors present. This includes the station having brick siding and slanted roof in the exterior shot, while the actual exteriors are shot in an obvious warehouse setting with no siding and a flat roof.
