To prepare for above- and underwater scenes, Irina Starshenbaum started practicing diving two months prior to filming. Her record was 15 filming hours in the water.
Alexander Petrov's total makeup - with hair extensions, tattoos and scars - took at least 3 hours.

According to the creators of the film, after Attraction no one thought they would go back to this story. The idea of Invasion was born several months after the release of Attraction.
The film was shot by two crews. On average, the first one had about 200 members, and the second one had at least 80. Both crews were brought together to shoot the most complex scenes, in which case about 450 people were on set at the same time.
