Granted, I knew nothing about "Go-Go Sisters" (aka "Thang Nam Ruc Ro") when I sat down to watch it here, late in 2020. All I knew was that it was a Vietnamese movie.
I can't claim to be familiar with director Quang Dung Nguyen's work, nor being familiar with the performances of any of the actresses on the cast list, so everyone in the movie had a clean slate to impress me.
The storyline turned out to be a bit boring actually, and I ended up giving up on the movie after 1 hours of sitting through it. It started out adequately, but as the storyline progressed, it seemed to lose its momentum gradually and slowly turning monotonous and rather mundane. So I gave up eventually, as director Quang Dung Nguyen failed to deliver a movie that captured my interest.
I will say, though, that the acting performances in the movie, both from the adults and teen actresses were rather good, and they definitely were well-cast. Just a shame that the storyline was so boring and mundane.
"Go-Go Sisters", a title which didn't really make much sense, is not a movie that I will be returning to watch again to finish watching what I didn't finish. Why? Well, because director Quang Dung Nguyen just didn't manage to capture and maintain a hold of my interest in this movie.
Visually, then "Go-Go Sisters" was actually quite nice, and it definitely had some good production value to it.
My rating of this 2018 movie lands on a mediocre five out of ten stars.
