I watched uncut gems then forgot about it for a while then Kanye and Julia fox started dating so she was now everywhere howbeit I couldn't quite remember seeing her in uncut gems or anything else ergo I decided to check out her other works since I don't like revisiting things because there's always so much you haven't seen yet so it doesn't make sense to go back in my opinion, even if you love that particular film or show you could be exploring others that are potentially good that you're missing out on. Before going on to talk about the movie itself I just want to say I think that's the longest sentence I've ever written down and I'm not proofreading out of fear of grammatical errors.
Anyway, I didn't get the movie. Not exactly a fan of movies like this because it's filmed like it was homemade and feels like a project made by a group of friends. There's really nothing special about it, It explores the relationship of a cam-girl with her client, focusing on mostly the client and there wasn't much to him, the main character lacks depth and the supporting character(cam girl) with a more interesting life isn't explored as much either so the movie just comes off shallow and flimsy. As far as I know, there aren't many movies that explore characters like these properly and this was the chance to do that and it failed. There's a story there, but has nothing meaningful, it's just a guy who gets "phished"(if I remember my I. T. terminology correctly from high school). Not every movie has to have meaning for it to be good, but this is something that could have simply been a short film like 13min long but was made into an hour thirty. It is a believable story so I'll give it that and for some reason I wasn't bored but when it ended I just thought what was the point of all that? Julia fox unclad is probably the only memorable thing about this. And the ending, imagine being so down bad that even after she takes everything away from you, you're still trying to hit.

For an even more immersive and effective viewing experience, watch this with your great-grandparents.
Or is it him up? No pun intended - actually when you read nudity, mostly and most will think of female nudity. And while there is some of that, you get way more male nudtiy. Whatever you make of that - which includes a fully erect penis that is being ... well played with I guess you would say (by the man himself - whom the penis belongs to).
Just giving you facts - not judging and not telling you to judge or watch. It really isn't that big .. the role in the movie that is (sorry for the pun). Because the movie is about relationships - online ones. About being served... is that how I would put it? Tough to say - it is about power balance. It is about weirdness ... it is about love that you could not put a finger on.
Especially the twist towards the end ... and not the main twist I reckon ... but how it is being resolved. Because the twist ... well you may see it coming (no pun intended, no innuendo in sight) or not - but I doubt you could foresee that ending ... or maybe it is me again ... who knows?

Julia Fox is great and carries the film, but the plot had huge holes and alot is left unanswered. If you want to see it done right watch "Shame" with Michael Fassbender
Male viewers will be disappointed with the prudish nature of this film, especially when it comes to female anatomy. Women? Women in general don't watch this type of erotica. Plot? What plot?. You can find better dialogues even in cheap pornographic movies. Better erotics, with a better storyline, erotics which unlike PVT CHAT are not ashamed of the lower female body parts can be found on many premium adult sites. I ask again. For what audience the movie has been created?

I mean, this was worse than a student film in all aspects. How on Earth did this ever get made and who paid for it? Jesus...

Saw lots of negative reviews so I had to write a positive one as the film is great. You really have to bring something to the film yourself. The plot and the ending are all very clear to me, but you have to think about what it all means. If I'm honest it's worth watching for Julia Fox alone, but the main character comes across as someone you'd meet everyday. You'll know almost straight away if this film is for you or not. I loved it. Found it extremely uncomfortable and gripping right from the word go.
Unfortunately you can really tell it was written by a man, a man who clearly hasn't done much research into the topic.
The characters are so stereotypical it hurts, which really let things down. The character arcs make no sense and then the way the scenes chop between each other is just jarring.

Not a bad film, but once again, Hollywood's latest obsession with needless sexually explicit content of the male variety (albeit with prop, no doubt) distracts from the story and the film itself. Could have benefited from a much better musical score (or, well, any, really). The acting isn't bad, especially from the supporting actors. I get what they were going for, but again the needless explicit content just takes away from it all and it's what the viewer is left with. Would likely have given it a 5 star review but the lacklustre choice of audio throughout and the explicit content both knocked off a star for me.
Even before seeing this PVT chat was an exciting prospect for me. Ben Hozie is quite interesting, the promotional material had me curious and I like Julia fox and Buddy Duress a lot. They were both great but Peter Vack stole the show, his performance is nothing short of brilliant.
At this stage I think PVT chat is underrated. This is a film that probes addiction and reprocustions of addiction deeply, tells telling an erotic engaging story whilst feeling authentic every step of the way. All the characters are very watchable and the dialogue flows like a conversation you might have. None of the nudity is overly gratuitous, it all adds to the characters and to the story. The live can element to the film is presented truthfully which felt like a breath of fresh air, a film that understands technology is something that shouldn't be so impressive, but it is.
I have a few minor complaints. There are a couple continuity errors for visuals sake which I find a little annoying, there are semi-frequent irritating cheesy sound effects and some of the writing feels a little too convenient occasionally.
Use of Beethoven' beautiful piece 'Piano sonata no. 1' is great and sparing. The piano score isn't anything amazing but it is also used thoughtfully and it is emotionally effective.
PVT chat is a film that really resonated with me. It explores interesting themes and interesting dynamics between people all very authenticity and carefully. Check it out, It has a great sense of tone so even if you don't enjoy the story or if the subject matter makes you uncomfortable there are enough funny moments for you to get some enjoyment at least.

Im sad to see so much bad review on this movie.
I think people really missed the point of the film and talk trash about it without trying to understand it.
Viewing this movie only by the erotic side is wrong, this is a movie about a lonely man who search human connexion, but keep ruining is life with lie and addictions.

PVT CHAT shows a surprisingly accurate depiction of many pornography/internet/technology addicts now days. One of the few movies I've seen dealing with these topical issues. Explores unique concepts. However still manages to be playful and funny at the same time. Although it is definitely not for everybody.
Other reviews imply it to be erotica and are therefore disappointed. It is clearly not.
The cinematography is excellent. It is shot through a fish eye lens to give the perspective of viewing the entire movie through a webcam. Which fits in nicely.
Ironically filmed before COVID and Uncut Gems.

This movie is very graphic and was about time we get to see also a gorgeous guy in the leading role showing his attributes.
The acting is very good which makes the characters likeable and realistic.
The only problem i see was the camera work, but the guy who did the cam, also directed and edited, so maybe the amateurish cam work was part of his plan, i just didn't like it.
If you live, or ever lived in NYC. you might identify much more with this movie.
Not for the prude or homophobes, although there's no any lgbtq at all.

I always try to see reviews and critics before I see a film. I saw mostly negative reviews about this one and I am glad all of them were wrong.
It's a unexpectedly good movie. Liked it. Really nice.

Presented the movie so naturally as in real word. Those scenes are lit. Lots of love Julia fox
