"W/O Ram" is a riveting thriller that masterfully blends suspense, emotion, and social commentary. Directed by Vijay Yelakanti, this 2018 Telugu film offers a refreshing departure from conventional narratives, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
The film centers around Deeksha (played by Lakshmi Manchu), a woman who embarks on a quest for justice after her husband's mysterious death. Lakshmi Manchu delivers a powerhouse performance, portraying a range of emotions with depth and authenticity. Her portrayal of a grieving widow determined to uncover the truth is both compelling and heart-wrenching, making the audience root for her every step of the way.
The supporting cast, including Priyadarshi and Samrat Reddy, add substantial weight to the narrative with their strong performances. Each character is well-etched, contributing to the film's intricate plot and ensuring that no scene feels superfluous.
Vijay Yelakanti's direction is sharp and focused, maintaining a taut narrative that never loses its grip. The screenplay is tight, with well-placed twists and turns that keep the audience guessing. The film's pacing is spot-on, ensuring that the suspense builds steadily without any lulls.
Cinematography by Divakar Mani is another highlight, capturing the moody and tense atmosphere of the film perfectly. The use of lighting and camera angles enhances the overall sense of unease and urgency. The background score by Raghu Dixit complements the narrative beautifully, heightening the tension and adding emotional depth to key moments.
"W/O Ram" also stands out for its strong thematic content, addressing issues of corruption, justice, and the plight of women in a patriarchal society. The film's social commentary is woven seamlessly into the narrative, making it thought-provoking without being preachy.
Overall, "W/O Ram" is a must-watch for fans of the thriller genre. Its gripping storyline, stellar performances, and sharp direction make it a standout film that leaves a lasting impression. Lakshmi Manchu's brilliant performance and Vijay Yelakanti's deft handling of the material ensure that "W/O Ram" is a cinematic experience that should not be missed.

Would you call W/O Ram an investigation thriller or a suspence thriller or maybe both. Anyhow, it's a thriller, though you may not feel the thrill while watching it.
There are parts in which were really exciting and then there were parts where the suspence felt fake. I can't have a single opinion about this one.
Investigation scenes were good. Most of it was done using just Facebook, whatsapp and Skype. Though, some parts of investion were unclear. Adarsh Balakrishna was not convincing in his role. The police station scenes were just replica of any other telugu films.
The twist in the middle was good, after that the ending did not feel unexpected.
I didn't feel any resemblence to Kahaani(2012) expect that the character the helpful constable was similar in both.
W/O Ram depends tol much on Lakshmi Manchu, there's nothing much to notice beside her character.

Now-a-days, thriller movies contains twists, quiet natural. But, revealing them through screenplay explains the work of cinema. This film comes into this category. A good movie with one of the social problem facing in our society. Nice thought of doing the movie at correct time.

With a name like that, I wasn't really expecting much of the movie, but since this was available on YouTube, I just thought: "let's just watch it" and I was not at all disappointed. I was completely blown away with the story and the cinematography, it's amazing. I don't want to tell the story, because I mght give some spoilers.
Go ahead and watch the movie when you get time, it free on YouTube.
