Even though our watch lists are more packed the ever with the constant release of shows each week of 2025 so far, it's time to make way for another jam-packed week of new releases. If you're still making your way through the latest binge releases, like Netflix's comedy Running Point and drama Beauty in Black, you'd better hurry before more shows drop this week.
As always, this week boasts even more new episodes of the biggest shows on streaming right now, like Severance, The Pitt, Daredevil: Born Again, and more. There's also new episodes of The White Lotus, Dark Winds, 1923, Yellowjackets, and other hit shows to catch up on throughout the week. We'll be adding a few more can't-miss weekly shows into the mix.

Here we go again…again. Well, maybe. As much fervor as there is for another “Mamma Mia!” installment, the film series’ main star, Amanda Seyfried knows that things in this business take a long time and there are certain considerations studios must undertake, especially in regards to building on IP. There are also certain considerations Seyfried has in mind too.
“Show me the money!” Seyfried said with a laugh during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She added that producer Judy Craymer is “working on it,” but she believes Universal only likes to work on musical at a time, as the first “Wicked” was stalled due to “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” With the release of “Wicked: For Good” still ahead, Seyfried doesn’t think there’s any pressure for the studio to push it forward.

Even Amanda Seyfried can relate to having an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction — only hers was in front of Glen Powell.
During a recent interview with People, the Mamma Mia! actress recalled the time her “boobs fell out of my dress at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.”
“I was wearing this amazing vintage dress. I made my stylist dress up in it before I went just for fun,” she said of the vintage Dior gown she was wearing that night. “It was kind of sewn together and it started truly falling apart, literally falling off of me on the red carpet, and I think there were even interviews where I’m saying it’s breaking off.”
That year, Seyfried was nominated for best actress in a limited series or movie made for television for her role in The Dropout, which she ultimately won.
However, it was during a one-on-one conversation with Powell early...

“I don’t want to be bored, do you?” Amanda Seyfried asks over Zoom in late February.
At 39, she’s been acting for more than half of her life, but only recently has she exuded a level of confidence she admits she lacked for the majority of her career. Recent accolades have helped — see the 2021 Oscar nomination for Mank and the 2022 Emmy win for embodying Silicon Valley hoaxer Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout — as has the move away from Hollywood to the faraway Catskills farm she shares with husband Thomas Sadoski, their two kids and many animals. But realizing when to pass on a project is what really helped things click into place.
These days, there’s plenty to keep Seyfried engaged. Her latest miniseries, Peacock’s true-crime drama Long Bright River, drops March 13; then there’s the planned Venice premiere for Mona Fastvold and Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist follow-up,...

With scores of new series premiering, talent coming to town, and a sizeable industry component, the event will set the stage for the year ahead in scripted TV.
“When I created Series Mania, I was saying that series can reflect our world and Series Mania is where you put them in the light,” founder and General Director Laurence Herszberg tells Deadline, just weeks before the festival commences.
Surveying the International Competition line-up, she addresses the political themes in several series. If it’s a 2025 drama trend, the Series Mania chief is fine with that.

Jimmy Fallon finally got the chance to break out the dulcimer he always keeps behind his Tonight Show desk just in case any of his guests are adept at playing the instrument — such as Amanda Seyfried.
The actress was on hand Tuesday night to promote her upcoming TV show, Long Bright River, but the conversation started with her musical talents. After Seyfried and Fallon bonded over their brief stints playing the clarinet as kids, Seyfried said she also played guitar and learned how to play the dulcimer during the pandemic.

Amanda Seyfried is on board for any “Jennifer’s Body” sequel, which could come sooner than later. The actress, though not confirming the film, told Bloody Disgusting that a “Jennifer’s Body 2” could be in the works soon.
“I think we’re making another one,” Seyfried said while on the red carpet for “Seven Veils.” “I didn’t confirm it! I said, ‘I think.'” IndieWire has reached out to representatives for Seyfried, screenwriter Diablo Cody, and director Karyn Kusama for further comment.
“Jennifer’s Body” was released in 2009. While the feature barely broke even at the box office, the now-iconic film is considered to be a feminist horror classic. Seyfried stars as Needy, whose best friend Jennifer (Megan Fox) is the high school queen bee. However, after Jennifer is sacrificed by the lead singer (Adam Brody) of a band touring through town, she is left as a half-girl, half-demon who feasts on unsuspecting boys to survive.

Here’s a hot take: The year doesn’t really start until March.
For many of us, January and February remain in the cloud of winter — short days, cold weather, seasonal affective disorder (the trifecta!). The IndieWire staff spends those months firmly entrenched in awards season, from Golden Globes to guild awards and the Oscars, happening this Sunday, March 2.
The rest of the month is full of infinite possibilities. What does life look like after months of “Emilia Peréz” discourse? Or with an extra hour of sunlight in the evening? Which shows will emerge from the darkness of winter to shape our spring viewing — and maybe kick off another awards cycle as Emmys season looms ahead?
This March starts with the return of an old favorite in “Daredevil: Born Again,” and culminates in Seth Rogen’s Hollywood-centric satire, “The Studio.” In between, there’s something for everyone: the family-crime-comedy “Deli Boys,...

Amanda Seyfried is singing the praises of just how “crazy” — in a good way — Mona Fastvold’s upcoming “Ann Lee” musical is. Seyfried stars in the title role of the historical film, which centers on the religious leader Ann Lee, who founded the Shaker Movement in the late 1770s. Lee’s followers deemed her the female Jesus Christ, and her worshippers prayed through song and dance, hence her story getting the musical biopic treatment.
The film is co-written by Fastvold and her “The Brutalist” collaborator and real-life partner Brady Corbet. The pair are currently nominated for the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for their work on the film, which is also nominated for Best Picture and in a slew of other categories.

The first trailer for Peacock’s Long Bright River promises some major drama for Amanda Seyfried hunting a serial killer!
Peacock has found a niche with limited series that often use a crime element. That promises some good drama for Long Bright River. It’s based on the 2020 novel by Liz Moore with all eight episodes set to drop on Peacock on Thursday, March 13.
The trailer sets the stage by focusing on Mickey Fitzpatrick, played by Amanda Seyfried. She’s a patrol cop who’s assigned to one of the rougher neighborhoods in Philadelphia, a place hard hit by the Opioid crisis. It gets worse when it appears a serial killer is at work.
For Mickey, this brings up some bad memories and is complicated by the disappearance of her sister, Kacey. Mickey’s search for her sister puts her in the killer’s path and may push her to extremes.

Book fans have been waiting for this one for a while: The trailer for “Long Bright River,” starring Amanda Seyfried, has finally arrived.
The Peacock limited series, based on the bestselling thriller by Liz Moore, follows Mickey (Seyfried) a “police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis,” per a press release. “When a series of murders begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case.”
The novel tackles complicated families, the opioid crisis, and reckoning with your past — very similar topics to that of HBO’s twisty “Mare of Easttown,” to which creators are surely hoping this program gets a similar reception.
In a note to press, “Long Bright River” co-creator/showrunner Nikki Toscano wrote, in part, “perhaps what drew me in the most was the possibility of what this show could achieve in its ambition to upend stereotypes:...

Aside from the peculiar appearance of a certain flightless waterfowl, Saturday night’s WGA Awards were a familiar affair.
“Hacks” won its second trophy in four years for Best Comedy Series, as well as its second trophy in the same span for Best Episodic Comedy, continuing a victory parade that began at the 2024 Emmys when it upset “The Bear” for the top prize. That hot streak has continued into 2025 with wins at the Casting Society of America, Costume Designers Guild Awards, Directors Guild Awards, Producers Guild Awards, and AFI Awards, among others. With Season 4 having wrapped production in January, creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky’s Max original should enter the 2025 Emmy season as the presumptive favorite.
The season’s dominant drama, “Shōgun,” won’t be back in time to compete in 2025 — the writers’ room is still plugging away at Season 2 — but its Season 1 winning streak also...
