I am a HUGE fan of Australian movies but this is awful! Only interesting character is Emily which is decently acted by Steph Tisdell. The storyline is boring and disjointed. I can't believe I paid to watch this.
Seeing the positive reviews I am wondering if they were all done by family and friends of the cast.

Doppy concept poorly executed by a amateur script. Disjointed story. Pathetic acting. Makes 'Home & Away' soapy seem like an Oscar winning movie. I've seen better school plays. We thought it was never going to end.

My title pretty much captures it.
I was only interested in this film because Steph Tidsall was in it and John Jarrat, and whilst they were the only convincing actors in this role, the rest of the movie was absolutely deplorable.
I am gob smacked that there were so many good reviews. I love Australian movies but this was the dead set the worst movie I have ever seen in my whole life - I only saw it to the end because I thought maybe there would be some comedic satire involved and because I paid $2.99 to rent it. Much regret.

I usually love Aussie movies but this was just appalling.
At first I thought it was going to be just another stereotypical cheesy romantic "comedy". However, it turned out to be the most cringeworthy movie I've seen. Boring, predictable and the acting was that terrible.
The only part we found funny (hilarious actually) was the comically absurd facial expressions of Melissa in the cafe scene at the beginning, it was like watching a comedy sketch from Fast Forward. Her acting was so awkward I felt like I was watching a school play.
I seriously had second hand embarrassment watching the whole thing.

Just what we all need at this time 😁 An uplifting couple of hours with plenty of laughs, emotions, beautiful Australian scenery. Loved it ❤
I honestly don't understand how anyone could say anything bad about it.

What a fun film, as Romcom's go this one kept me guessing and laughing, great performance from Steph Tidwell. Storyline has some moments of really! But the overall theme of love being something we should embrace no matter the cost is endearing.
Omg this is just embarrassing, the acting is just weak, the plot is ridiculous, it's gotten "woke" and it's plain boring and corny. It's the product of defunding the Aussie arts combined with "progressive" politics that just creates unwatchable nonsense...shame to see John Jarret stooping so low, what a shocker, Australia can do better surely !!!!!!

Took my mum to go watch this Aussie gem and we loved it! It was extremely well made and the acting was much better than some of the other Aussie movies I've seen. It was full of laughs and love with a couple of tears and even some twists. Wish I hadn't left it to the last night it was showing here so I could have taken my daughter too. Definitely recommend if you want a movie you can walk out of with that 'feel good' feeling. Beautiful!
'Love You Like That' is a breezy, fun rom-com with a host of off-beat characters with a genuinely witty script, along with a cast that knows how to have fun with it. While it stays within familiar rom-com territory, it does so with a genuine sense of sincerity, a nice change in these cynical times. Allira Jaques shines as the free-spirited Honey, and features an interesting turn by Jarratt, who adds his own unique layer of humor and heart.
Though it doesn't break new ground, 'Love You Like That' is a fun, light-hearted watch that delivers what it promises for its target audience: a feel-good movie filled with laughs and second chances. The colourful and punchy cinematography showcases the beautiful coastal regions of Australia's East Coast. Slickly produced, this film is a great film for those craving an earnest and uplifting rom-com.

This is genuinely the most awful movie I have seen in my whole life. I promise that is no exaggeration. I've seen some stinkers but this one takes the cake! I laid awake the night after watching it pondering how it is even possible for such a terrible movie to come in to existence.
The acting is beyond pathetic, the story line makes zero sense and the concept is ridiculous. The creators tried their best but I beg them to not make any more films. Good for a laugh at how bad it is though.

This is an embarrassment to the entire entertainment and film industry. This is why the government assistance to the film industry needs to be reviewed - to stop rubbish like this being commissioned so rich people cant claim the tax off set. It's full of cliche characters, cliche lines and cliche scenes. One can only hope that writers, producers and directors find alternative employment elsewhere and are not involved in the film industry again. I can't even recommend the scenery, it too seems like a cliche the way it was used. The best example I can give for how appalling this movie is when a family go on a boat outing (small boat! ) wearing a suit and tie, dinner dresses during the middle of the day...as if that ever happens!

It's an Australian movie, I wasn't expecting great acting and it was like watch 'around the twist' so it's cute to watch, it's also like home and away but less drama.
The main character was wayyy tooo much she looked like she was over the top at times... the script wasn't adding up either. I'll go get the Nutella and nect minute they all exit and forgot about the Nutella. She also forgot her coffee she loved so much??
The drinking of bourbon in the morning... arnt we trying to help people not to drink???
What's with the profanity some people might think it's not there but I know it's too much for a feel good movie and if it's a family movie.

Why did they bother? A movie usually has a reason for being. This has none, it has poor forced acting, a dumb script with scarcely a plot and basically no character I could find. A comedy without laughs!
It had John Jarret who normally is worthwhile, but the rest of the cast I had not seen before.
Running around a pretty Sydney beach, I thought it was a pilot for some new Australian TV series, but no it was a "movie", apparently. Was it something for experimentation in between COVID lockdowns?
This showing was a midday movie on TV.... and NO, I never got to the end of it, I just decided to end it with 45 mins to run, it was that bad.

What a great little film.
Such a good story line that actually surprised me at different stages throughout with great twists.
Funny, lovely and a pleasure to watch with good acting to boot All and all; a surprising and wonderfully great feel good film and if you enjoy Rom Com's I highly recommend you find an opportunity to watch this delightful movie.

This movie was fab. It was so refreshing to see an Aussie film that has a quality cast, exciting storyline, and was just a solid, feel good, uplifting story. We don't have movies like this anymore so I loved every bit! It was sweet, romantic and great for the whole family to enjoy. A few twists that kept you guessing, comedy, great natural acting, beautiful scenery and a touch of magic. I loved it!! Will be watching again when it streams.

I saw one review that accused people who like this movie as being a relative of one of the actors. I am not a relative of anyone and I honestly liked this movie. It is lighthearted, unique, and interesting. I am not sure why people are bashing this move. This wasn't made with a few million dollar budget or from an enormous movie house, but it doesn't need to be, to be thoughtful. Watch it if you'd like a break from the movies that bring you down or mimic the harshness of reality. I found this on Tubi so sorry to anyone that paid to watch a B/C movie. I've watched bad acting and this wasn't it.
I couldn't get enough of this cast. The guy with moe - hilarious and Steph Tindell had me in stiches. It was so refreshing to see a humor filled rom com hit the screens after such a crappy year. Loved the twist, didn't it coming at all!

I am avid film watcher and I came across this film when I was with my grandmother. She's a John Jarrett fan and loves him from McCleods. After watching this and reading some negative reviews., I understand this is not everyones cup of tea. But, my Grandmother is not in good health at the moment and she lit up watching this film. It's a feel good and TBH I enjoyed the fun in it as well. It's not a film that's hurting anyone. It doesn't need the negative people hounding it and hurting it. For a film and story to make my Grandmother happy gets thumbs up from me. Well done for making people smile.

I'm usually not keen on rom-coms, but this may be one of my favorite movies. The mythological elements were intriguing, and the twist at the end when the police officer proposes was a fun surprise. Add to that the heartfelt performance by Mitchell Hope as Harrison, and the movie was a win for me.
Ignore the people who gave this film a 1. They obviously have an agenda. Steph Tisdell was delightful, delivering one-liners that had me laughing out loud. Mitchell Hope showed us that he is more than a Disney prince. Some scenes in the movie seemed improbable, but with the supernatural theme they were ultimately believable. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves the power of love.

Watch this with my sister and her boyfriend and we loved it. The Mystery of Mim and her influence of the town was an adventure. Loved the all the actors performances, a lot of humour that kept me laughing in my seat. Definitely can't wait to see this movie again. Sisters boyfriend was blown away from how much he enjoyed it. There's really something in this movie for everybody.
