Reboot of the classic film Daibutsu Kokaiku (1934) about a giant Buddha statue (known in Japan as a "Daibutsu") 33 meters in height. It comes to life and tours the country, mainly seeing tourist sights, before flying into the clouds and going to Tokyo. According to some people who worked on the original film, the only copy they had got destroyed during World War II. The only known images are from a magazine article.
Released to Japanese theaters in 2018, with oversight from the grandson of Yoshiro Edamasa, director of the original 1934 film.
