Watched this on the National Geographic channel. A short, but beautifully made documentary on the Mauritania Railway that travels through the Sahara desert, and the people who lives are connected to the railway and iron-ore mining in some way. Superb cinematography, hypnotic atmospheric score. I wish more documentaries were made in this style. Reminiscent of films such as Baraka and Samsara. I just hope this director gets to turn this into a feature length release. Highly recommended.
We could talk about the aesthetically brilliant shots, but this short film is more than that, there is a subtlety, I would recommend the reader to watch it over Vimeo, the film comes alive with the improved quality and less compression
