Cat's Eye , City Hunter author Tsukasa Hojo's another popular manga series in the 1980s, will receive a new anime adaptation on Disney Plus's Star brand in 2025. It was also revealed that Ado will cover the opening theme song for the first TV anime in 1983-1984, "Cat's Eye," originally performed by Anri . A special teaser movie using "Cat's Eye" sung by Ado has been streamed. "With the greatest respect, I covered the original theme song, 'Cat's Eye,' under the arrangement of Yuki Hayashi-san," said Ado. "When I sang the song, I respected Anri-san and mixed her 80's singing style with my own colors. How did you like it? It is a great honor for me to be involved as a singer in a beloved and legendary work that has returned to the present day with renewed brilliance. We hope this song conveys both new and nostalgic feelings. And together,...

Not all heroes wear a cape, especially in this Netflix adaptation of the manga City Hunter. Ryou Saeba is a crime-fighting freelance detective who goes through the painstaking journey of finding the man behind the murder of his partner. When Ryou is not solving cases or fighting crimes, he is flirting with women, or at least leering at them. While I haven’t read the manga, I have heard of the unnecessary ‘fanservice’ in the source material. Fortunately, Netflix has tried to tone down Ryou Saeba’s sexist remarks and perverted behavior.

Who would have thought that Tm Network’s “Get Wild” would be there to accompany us as the ending theme song.

Whether it is their “wholesome sexiness,” their clever original concepts or top-notch production values and scripts, Korean TV shows are generating a lot of talk — among audiences in Asia especially, where in many cases Korean show rate highest after local content.
There are also significant pockets of fans in North and South America, and the Middle East, that drive the social media numbers of stars such as Lee Min-ho (“City Hunter”), Kim Soo-hyun (“My Love From the Star”) and Song Hye-kyo (“Descendants of the Sun”).
More professionally, there was plenty of discussion about South Korean content and business matters at the recent Apos media conference (virtual this year of course), even more at September’s Seoul-based Bcww content market. There will be still more at Mipcom Plus, the online version of the annual South of France rights market.
