Radu Valahu and Alexandru Sinca were convinced to play in the film because of the film's message of hope and resilience.
Two of the film's producers, Paul Ionescu Alexandru and Mihai Theodor Dragomir, continued the tradition of having cameos throughout the film. However, Dragos Andrei Sirbu had two cameos as his voice appeared in a telephone conversation and his hand appeared in a close-up of a fight sequence.
After bearing the responsibility of multiple tasks for the second time in a feature film, Andrei Barbat chose to focus in the near future only on producing and directing.
During the shooting of the scene at Sarmizegetusa a drone was used as well. However, the drone's pilot couldn't fly it above the main stones as he said it felt as if the drone was pushed away. This happened two times in a row and, later on during the post-production, the editor noticed the footage going dark for a little bit when going above the stones. No explanation was found for those occurrences.
The shooting took place one month in Romania and one and a half weeks in UK in 2015. However, a few re shootings took place in 2016 as well as in 2017.
