Audacy’s Cadence13 Studios today announced a partnership with Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning writer, actress, producer and director Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions – the production company behind hit shows including Russian Doll, Broad City and Harlem – for a 30-episode comedy franchise featuring stories that parody and pay homage to popular themes in the podcast space.

The franchise will be broken out into three seasons of 10 episodes. Each will focus on a central character and distinct theme; however, characters will make crossover appearances across stories and seasons.

The first installment in the partnership, Say More with Dr? Sheila, is slated to launch later this year. The 10-episode season stars Poehler as Dr? Sheila, a fictional therapist with questionable methods and credentials counseling a new couple every week. The actor, writer and producer will spoof podcast tropes in a new three-season scripted comedy podcast franchise for Cadence13. Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions together with writer-producer Liz Cackowski inked a 30-episode deal with Audacy’s Cadence13 for the series, featuring stories that parody — and pay homage to — popular themes in the podcast space.

“We are huge fans of podcasts and we can’t wait to poke fun at all the things we love about them, and to do so with Cadence13,” Poehler and Cackowski said in a joint statement.

The franchise will run over three seasons of 10 episodes each. Each season will focus on a central character and distinct theme, although characters will make crossover appearances across stories and seasons.

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert’s original screenplay for award-season juggernaut Everything Everywhere All at Once and Sarah Polley’s adapted screenplay for Women Talking scored the marquee awards Sunday at the WGA Awards.

The WGA, which handed out its trophies for the year’s best writing in dual ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City, also gave Apple TV+’s Severance wins for Drama Series and New Series, and FX’s The Bear for Comedy Series. HBO’s The White Lotus won for Limited Series, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver won for Comedy Variety Talk Series.

Everything Everywhere completed its sweep of the major guild awards with the win, which comes after triumphs at PGAs, DGAs and the SAG Awards, as well as Saturday in the category at the Spirit Awards. It has 11 Oscar nominations including Original Screenplay.

The 75th Writers Guild of America Awards took place Sunday night, wrapping up the final weekend of guild awards before the Oscars next week. Both screenplay categories are tight at the Oscars, but not all the contenders were present at WGA.

That’s because the guild’s strict rules disqualify a number of scripts every year. Fox is flipping genders on Starsky & Hutch, developing a female-led reboot of the popular 1970s cop series, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The update — which hails from writers/showrunners Sam Sklaver (Prodigal Son) and Elizabeth Peterson (The Resident) — centers on Detectives Sasha Starsky and Nicole Hutchinson, who “solve crimes in the offbeat town of Desert City while staying true to their friendship, their awesomeness, and somehow also trying to unravel the mystery behind who sent their fathers to prison 15 years ago for a crime they didn’t commit.”

Tim Robinson, star of oddball Netflix sketch comedy I Think You Should Leave, is one of six cast in the series, which also includes Mitra Jouhari (Three Busy Debras), Dale Soules (Orange Is The New Black), Guz Khan (Our Flag Means Death), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Tim Meadows (The Goldbergs).

The series will air on Comedy Central.

This is the first series written and produced by Samberg, who is best known for his work with the Lonely Island on “Saturday Night Live” as well as leading NBC’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” “Digman!” marks something of a “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” reunion, as co-creator and showrunner Campbell was a writer and co-executive producer on the NBC sitcom while Fumero starred opposite Samberg and Meadows was a recurring guest.

Along with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” Fumero’s credits include “Gossip Girl” and “One Life to Live.” Meadows has also starred in “The Goldbergs” and “Space Force.

“WWE Evil,” the first WWE original series for Peacock, will premiere March 24, the streaming service announced Thursday.

Created and hosted by WWE wrestler and actor John Cena, the eight-part docuseries examines the stories of notable “heels,” or villains, in the WWE’s history. Each episode dives into the career of a different heel, including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Sasha Banks and Roman Reigns.

The trailer previews all of the episodes of the series, showcasing both archival footage of notable events in the various performers’ WWE history, as well as interviews that dive into the psychology behind the people playing the heels.

“I’m not playing the character, I am the character,” Roman Reigns says during a talking head interview included in the trailer.

Three Busy Debras has been renewed for a second season on Adult Swim. It was announced that the series would be returning in a post on Instagram. Sandy Honig, Mitra Jouhari, and Alyssa Stonoha star in the comedy and also executive produce, alongside Amy Poehler and Kim Lessing of Paper Kite Productions. The cabler has renewed the Amy Poehler-produced comedy for a second season. The pickup comes two weeks after the conclusion of the six-episode first season, which drew a decent-sized audience for the late night programming block.

Created by Sandy Honig (Isn't It Romantic), Mitra Jouhari (Friends From College, High Maintenance) and Alyssa Stonoha, who also play the three title characters, the series follows the "surreal day-to-day lives of three deranged housewives, all named Debra, in their affluent suburban town of Lemoncurd, Connecticut."

Adult Swim is continuing its partnership with “Samurai Jack” creator Genndy Tartakovsky.

Coming off the final season of “Samurai Jack,” which aired in 2017, the cable channel has ordered a new animated series titled “Primal” from the Russian-American animator.

“Primal” centers around a caveman at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur on the brink of extinction. Bonded by tragedy, this unlikely friendship becomes the only hope of survival in a violent, primordial world. The half-hour animated series will premiere this fall.

Tartakovsky is also known for directing the three “Hotel Transylvania” movies. In terms of his other TV work, Tartakovsky created “Dexter’s Laboratory” at Cartoon Network and created/directed the original “Star Wars: Clone Wars” series, also at Cartoon Network.
