Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is two films in one, promoted as a third completely different one altogether. You walk in expecting a typical Luv Ranjan film with the twist of both of its lead characters being anti-heroes but get confronted by a Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi-esque love story coupled with family drama.
The film shines the brightest during its comedy scenes (the FRIENDS finale inspired family banter in the car is the highlight of the film). The meta jokes land well. Bassi delivers one-liners like he did when he was at his peak as a standup comedian and while his own subplot in the film makes no sense, he chews whatever bite he's given well. The child actor, Inayat Verma, is the definition of chhota packet bada dhamaka. She plays her character with such ease and brilliance and hits both the punchlines and the slapstick comedy with such perfection, I became a fan. The supporting cast in general is fantastic. Shraddha, as always, looks gorgeous in the film and performs fairly until her shortcomings in the acting department get highlighted in scenes where she has to deliver purely through her expressions. This isn't anywhere close to Ranbir's best performance, in fact he puts his acting skills on the backburner, but apart from some scenes where he unnaturally breaks the fourth wall due to the director's insistence, he does fit in well.
The film, however, tests your patience in emotional scenes in the second half, completely losing both its tonality and crowd pull. Attempts at using songs to pick up pace and audience interest fall flat in the last hour. The film picked up a pretty relevant topic in the second half but chose a convenient way out of it. I would've preferred the realistic ending they were going for until the U-turn that they took in the last 30 minutes but that wouldn't have had the commercial appeal that is needed to carry Bollywood films to the Hit verdict these days. The background score of the film is fantastic and it does have some catchy chartbusters too but it has one too many songs for its own good. The direction is pretty mediocre as is the writing but I walked in leaving my brain in the fridge at home so I was able to look past that.
Overall, the film is a decent one-time watch constructed calculatively to make it flow with the masses and even if you aren't one of them you could enjoy it for its comedy.

Good looks cannot save this dull Movie. Editing is the main villain of this film .Ranbir Kapoor is terrific as usual . Shraddha gave an earnest performance. Veteran actor Dimple Kapadia shines again . 1st half is tiresome ,2nd half picks up some pace but the incoherent writing ruined it completely. The songs are well placed but the problem is build up, screenplay fell flat which turns into a Yawn fest for the audiences. RK is very good in emotional scenes but this time audience unable to connect due to sloppy writing.
Luv Ranjan's monologue didn't work this time as the film .Luv Ranjan lost his mojo ,he should rethink about his cliched formula. If you are a RK fan this is for you if not this is strictly a one time watch (Only for the songs)

The movie could have been better, well in many and indeed many areas.
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, sounds good pair, well they were certainly looking good on screen, there were sort of some moments, some chemistry, but throughout the movie you will be the special element being missed.
First half of the movie, not making much sense, not making any rhyme and you start to feel the boring element rising. Second part, better and interesting, anyone can guess the ending and the entire plot by then. Movie was with a message of being with the family and differences can be resolve, but not given in a much effective way.
All in all, it is a one time watch, nothing extra to expect.
P. S.
Only one song was good, rest, too boring.

A good movie which shows that todays world, the daughters in laws want their own freedom whereas the inlaws are controlling. Today women are independent, have freedom to choose but due to generation gap there seems to exist the expectations that the daughter in law complies to the functioning of the in-laws house.
This movie however shows that some families do have an environment where there is love without a tinge of control and have freedom to be the way someone is.
Great concept by Luv Ranjan and good surprise guest appearances by Kartik and Nushrratt.
Overall great movie!! Ranbir is hot and Shraddha plays a perfect girl!

Typical Luv Ranjan style Rom-Com .
Well balanced Romance and Comedy . Decent plot which tries to be unique but comes under the template . Screenplay has it's own ups and downs . First half was kinda mixed bag , completely dedicated to story building and character establishment . Plot actually takes off in Second half , except few lags it delivers a appealing half . Loud and forced comedy worked in most of the places , especially climax was completely hilarious part of the movie . Ranbir and Shraddha were the pillars of the movie , and justified their characters . Other side casts had good scope to and contributed well . Behind the screen Pritam's mesmerizing music and songs were great support .
Despite some flaws overall a good entertaining and satisfying Rom-Com to watch . If you like Luv Ranjan's style of Rom Com then definitely give it a try .

TJMM : This Modern Rom-Com is a Winner
TJMM serves as the quintessential revival of Bollywood Rom-Coms which was missing. A refreshing yet relatable premise, solid laugh-out-gags, entertaining bollywood music, peppy and vibrant dance numbers and an engaging chemistry between the lead pair all work in favour of the film. Overall a delightful, enjoyable rollercoaster which has fun, emotions and a lot of reliability factor which the masses will appreciate.
Luv Ranjan's trademark style of direction involves a lot of rambling of long dialogues without a break can be tiring at times for all the actors but the othet things mostly go the right way. Amazing cinematography, vibrant color grading, bollywood chartbusters, peppy dance performances and a wonderfully woven genre fusion of rom-com and family drama keeps you engaged till the end. In terms of performances, Ranbir is loud at times but exceptional for the remainder and Shraddha is understated but appreciable in the comeback. Bhassi provides the calm to the chaos and he does relatably good as a debutant.

TJMM is an entertaining joyride. It's a wholesome colourful Bollywood romcom after so long, that we were craving for which has that old school family drama elements. It worked for me at many levels. It's really funny & emotional parts hit right spots as well. Ranbir Kappor & Shraddha Kapoor have such electrifying chemistry. Ranbir is tailor made for romcoms, he was so smooth throughout. Shraddha entry with Maine Pee Rakhi Hai song was complete mass. Bassi is well Bassi here. Dimple Kapadia mothered hard here, special mention to her slaps. People were really enjoying TJMM with laughs echoing at regular intervals. Plus it has good emotional depth as well. Last 30 minutes esp climax was so awesome. Songs were a total vibe, every song is a banger. Overall TJMM absolutely manages to balance humour, drama & emotions seamlessly & delivers in vintage (yet fresh) Bollywood style.
A few flaws. Major ones.
The tone of story telling in few places doesn't match with the intensity or importance of some scenes.
Like, the scenes where Shraddha gets annoyed with too much interference or lack of space from Ranbir's family should have been a tone up. It was almost comedy than being the soul of the movie itself.
Shraddha was upset with Ranbir for not telling her that he knew she wanted to break up with him. Well, looks more like fake feminists crying over everything that is their fault.
Lastly, everybody got to their knees, including Ranbir's grandmother to pacify Shraddha is more like a Karan Johar movie.

As a romantic comedy, it is significant. Comedic material with a serious, current message is performed by this performer. Ranbir's charm steals the show. Shraddha maintains her allure. The acting of Ranbir Kapoor in this film is reminiscent of his earlier parts in Wake Up Sid, Anjaana Anjaani, and Bachna Ae Haseeno. Ranbir has incredible flirting skills, charm, modern taste, and stride. Music has the ability to capture and mesmerize people. Viewing on a large screen is even more fun. The brief appearances of Kartik Aryan and Nusrat serve the tale well. Amit Bassi is accurately portrayed. Possessing a quick wit and an excellent sense of humor. In general, it's a film that the whole family can enjoy. You should definitely take the kids to watch this movie, and you'll understand why after you see it.

I watched the film though I have very excited & exception before but when I watch the film is just like average to me because in modern era love stories youth generation have more values while a classical love story make the emotion between the characters of lovers little stronger although they portrayed their part in a very good & also talk about the family values of boy's is too good and well written & also boy part also good. For me girl part should be little improve rest the movie is good, one time watch but the story looks simple to me. Modern love story (i.e. Drama) is good at that point.

I dont understand why do you make such movies and even dont ask us to not to bring kids with us , worthless acting and hopeless comedy which is b grade and i have lost hope on bollywood again , what do they want to try to signify with such movies which does not have anything except flirts and tapri style acting by ranbir kapoor , bloody harasser does not sound logical, i brought my daughter to watch such movie , what a waste of time and what am i going to teach my kids watching such movies. This concept of movies should be rated adult and only 18 years and above should be allowed to watch it , what more to write as the movie is hopeless.

I watched TJMM after eagerly waiting for it to release on Netflix. This movie had me so excited from the day it was announced to be released. I loved the pairing of Ranbir and Shraddha and thought it will be a fantastic movie to watch and only the start of the movie went smoothly with really nice songs but from the ending I was expecting much more than it provided yet it was a disaster eventually. All what I can say is that this film is really overhyped and overdramatic and only provided comedy than romance. Only good thing about the movie is that from this generation Ranbir Kapoors emotional acting is hats off. After SRK he is one such actor who gives emotional acting a well deserved justice.

Finally a Luv Ranjan movie without women-bashing.
I'm a fan of insta-love when done right, but this one wasn't it, chief. It seemed like an infatuation more than actual love. The chemistry was also lacking. The premise was okay & the movie had a lot of plot holes, but the movie is aware of at least some of them. Without giving away any spoilers, one of the major illogical aspects was like when Superman wore glasses, and no one was able to recognise him.
Ranbir did a good job as usual, Shraddha's acting paled in comparison. The cgi de-aging effect done on them was a bit awkward tho, making it hard to see the micro-expressions Ranbir usually uses to portray his emotions. Their skin looked one-toned. The supporting cast did a splendid job as the lovable family. Bassi was also great as the friend.

Comedy in movie did worked for me. It was quite enjoyable and chemistry of Shraddha kapoor and Ranbir kapoor was great. At a point story felt a bit stretched. But tha climax was quite good and i liked the end sequence. Story was successful in making its point what it was trying to say through the story. Anubhav Singh Bassis dialogue were well written and his comic timing was on point. Dimple Kapadias acting was on point seh did a great job in movie. Bonnie kapoor was a surprise in the movie his role was not so much but he nailed it. Other then some abusive word and some kissing scenes you can definitely watch movie with family.

"Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" is a film that promises a lot with its talented cast, but ultimately fails to deliver a compelling storyline. Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, play the lead roles in the movie, but their performances are overshadowed by a lackluster script.
The film revolves around the story of two young lovers who are in a tumultuous relationship. Despite the promising premise, the plot fails to engage the audience due to its weak character development and unimpressive screenplay. The story feels rushed and disjointed, and the audience is left without a clear understanding of the motivations of the characters.
The acting by Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is one of the few bright spots in the film. However, even their impressive performances cannot save the movie from its flaws. The chemistry between the lead actors is lacking, and their interactions come across as forced rather than natural.
Another issue with the film is its lackluster visual and sound design. The cinematography is dull, and the color palette is uninspired, failing to create any sense of atmosphere or mood. The dialogue is poorly written and at times, makes no sense at all. The music and background score are forgettable and fail to add any emotional depth to the story.
Overall, "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar" is a mediocre movie that fails to live up to the potential of its talented cast. Despite a promising premise, the film's weak script, lackluster character development, and unimpressive technical aspects make it a forgettable experience.

The movie takes you to a trip and the performances are next level. Both Ranbir and Shraddha rock in their roles and the direction by luv ranjan is a master class. The songs are fresh and dance is amazing. You wouldn't realise that the movie is over so soon as it keeps you on the hook. Good movie and a paisa wasool one time watch. The first half is a bit slow but the second half will surly keep you to the edge of your seats. Also the end is non conventional so you won't be able to guess on what happens at the end. Hopefully we get to see similar entertainers from Luv in the near future. Thanks for entertaining us.

I am giving 4 stars because of the songs, ranbir-shradda pair on screen, few one liners in second half, and the climax scene. Luv Runjan surprsingly dissapointed with poor screenplay, poor dialogues and poor script writing.
They had superb casting but could not do character building or make optimum utilisation of the actors. The first 35-40 minutes you will see overacting from all the actors with baseless script and makes the plot very predictible.
There is a scene in the first half where Bassi literally with folded hands tells about Ranbir "Isko koi Chup Karau". All in the theater strongly felt with Bassi said.
I strongly felt to leave in the first half. The monologues by Kartik in previous movies were much better as compared to short monologues by Ranbir.
All in all you can watch on OTT platform, do NOT deserve to be seen in theater near you.

Tu jhoothi main makkaar is a romantic comedy film directed by luv ranjan.
Ranbir kapoor has executed his performance wellvaccording to the pitch of this film. Over the top with his expression in the comedy portions and being ranbir in the serious situations. At this moment, there is hardly an A-list actor more capable than what he is. Ranbir steals the show, once again. His body movements in 'pyaar hota kayi baar hai' was as good as butter. Shraddha kapoor, with her limited range, optimises her potential. In the argument scene, shraddha matches upto ranbir in dialogue delivery and body language both. She was a looking like a dream in this film, almost flawless and glowing, i must add. Anubhav singh bassi, being a sidekick, still holds immense value to the script. He is the mirror which refurnishes ranbir's character i.e rohan. His comic timing is obviously perfect duhh. Dimple kapadia is an outstanding presence in the cast. Seeing her on screen, i could visualise my own animated mom. Mostly hyperventilating, but sweet in her terms. The cameos by kartik aaryan and nushrratt bharuccha were fruitful.
The music by pritam is catchy and welcoming for all types of audiences. When those play on the screen, you tap to it. The lead actors have been given not intro scenes but intro songs as well. They work wonders. O bedardeya catches the pain in our heart through arijit's voice.
I have gripe with the use of monologue in this film. The actors were speaking so fast that it was difficult to fathom what they were saying. Use it obviously, but to some limit please. The comedy in the last 20 minutes is outstanding. The comedy being lukewarm in the first half really kicks in the family sequences. The screenplay in the first half has definite flaws. The comedy was not landing in many places, also the chemistry took some time to set in between ranbir and shraddha. Maybe this is one reason.
The film is not a typical rom-com. It talks about real issues, about clashing egos, trust on your partner, about family, how it elevates you but when overdone, can cage you. The conflict points, and the sequences designed around them are effective and well written.
This is a well made commercial film. And more importantly rom-com is not dead in hindi cinema. Thank god!!

Refreshing and relieving as after bramastra ,my mind was clouded by doubts about whats has gone wrong with Ranvir?? How could anyone with sane mind accept such a role, ofcourse Amitabh ji will accept anything spritual given his age,but ranvir??? After watching TJMM it can be said that bollywood has not lost its idea on how to make movies anymore, shraddha kapoor is simply ravishing and gorgeous ,a bit disapointed though that director had to rope in boney kapoor opposite Dimple kapadia,he is stale and worst thing in the movie. Anubhav Singh Bass as Manu dabbas is humurous and manages to tickle few times, though he could try to be more expressive if he is considering acting. Director could have added an element of doubt and kept audiences guessing just around the intermission, instead of giving itb all up. Ranvir is back to what he does best and cameos from Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha also add to the vibe.
If this is entertaining or romantic, then I don't know where Manmarziyan, Tamasha or Laila Majnu would stand (classics - I guess). A bogus movie with bad acting (overacting). I was expecting layered nuances of modern day relationships & other modern day problems, instead got a mind numbing experience of overacting & pointless scene after scene. What's the purpose of our characters in this movie & why do they exist ? In which world do our characters live, no movie had Covid, no one ever faces competitive entrances, no one faces recession, no one ever has decent conversation over Coffee. Either they dance in slo mo after taking shots or they are sleeping together. Arey Idiots, world is different & beautiful, much more than silliness you guys project. Bollywood movies have lost it completely. May be someday better cinema with better actors will make more moolah at box office. Sorry guys totally wasted my time & money. Meanwhile, we wait for Oppenheimer.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar review
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar s a film about breakups and patchups in a realtionship. One side a person tries to break the realtionship, other side another person tries lots of efforts to make the realtionship work. Very nice songs and music in the movie. Story of this movie was good but presentation wise could have been more interrestin. SOngs if removed from the movie, the movie would be a little boring. Ranbir and Shraddha have really given a best performace when it comes to expressions and dance. Dimple Kapadia was a performance powerhouse in the movie. She could shake anoyone with her performance. Nice acting by all the actos in the movie. SOme scenes and someetimes the BGM was good. I liked watching the movie because of the songs and some scenes chemeistry of Ranbir and Shraddha. Ranbir and Shraddha bot looked hot on screen. I rate this movie 7 stars out of 10. Decent movie.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar review :
He's a jodi breaker by profession. She is a cushy executive in a nine to five job. They meet, mate and decide to tie the knot. The girl then develops a commitment phobia and hires the boy to break their jodi..(she doesn't know he's the same dude, you see). Oops!!
Luv Ranjan's Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (TJMM in short) is a timepass rom com which will leave you thoroughly entertained at the end of it provided you dont ask too many questions; primary one being how can the boy not recognize his girlfriend's voice on phone and vice versa!! Ask no such basic questions and just sit back, relax and enjoy the fun seems to be the funda here. Ok, theek hai!!
The Kapoors - Ranbir and Shraddha - make a wonderful pair. Their chemistry works big time for the movie. Shraddha seems to have exhausted her entire swimwear wardrobe in the first half. Admittedly, she looks ravishing in those multiple bikinis. The romantic hero is a cakewalk for Ranbir and he's a delight to watch on screen. These are the kind of characters he ought to do. No more Shamsheras please!!
The foreign locales (Spain, Mauritius) are well captured and the overall technical aspects are first rate. This is Luv Ranjan's most expensive film till date and you can see the money. His penchant for monologue continues as Ranbir and a few other supporting characters rant à la Kartik Aaryan from Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) and Sonu Ki Sweetu ki Titti... whateva that title was!! And when Kartik himself appears for an interesting cameo, you know this is a luv corner, pun intended!!
