Netflix has revealed its lineup for February 2025.
Reality TV enthusiasts are in for a treat. Netflix is putting a strong focus on this genre with the return of Love Is Blind for its eighth season, along with the debut of Celebrity Bear Hunt, a fresh competition-based reality show. For those who prefer a gripping thriller, Netflix will drop Apple Cider Vinegar, a new series premiering on February 6 that’s worth keeping an eye on.
In other big news, the highly popular series Cobra Kai will release its final batch of five episodes this month, marking the end of the TV series. While it’s bittersweet for fans, this isn’t the last we’ll see of Daniel Larusso, as he’s set to appear in an upcoming Karate Kid movie hitting theaters later this year.
Beyond these highlights, Netflix is also adding plenty of films and shows to its catalog.

Nearly every species in Resident Alien has been proven capable of one very specific trick, but it's something the Greys are incapable of. The show portrays extraterrestrial life as far more advanced than humanity, not only in technological advances, but also from a biological standpoint. However, Resident Alien's Grey Aliens only really have Earth's native species beat on the tech side of things. Regardless, Resident Alien season 3's ending proves showrunner Chris Sheridan isn't ready to move on from the enormous threat the Greys pose to Earth.
Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle and his people have an unpleasant relationship with the Greys, as they have a long history of being at each other's throats. Given the size of the galaxy, it's unsurprising that the show's spacefaring species have developed dynamics of this sort, but the scale of the inky void also makes it far more surprising that nearly every alien...

Resident Alien season 4 will need to continue one of the show's longest-running storylines, but if it's completely resolved, then it opens the door for a forgotten arc that hasn't been a factor for a while. The return of Harry Vanderspeigle's (Alan Tudyk) original storyline could be great news for Resident Alien season 4, although it wouldn't be quite so thrilling for the residents of Patience, Colorado. However, given the exciting ending of Resident Alien season 3, it only seems like a matter of time until Harry's backstory is once more brought to the forefront.
Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle has been at the heart of Resident Alien since the sci-fi dramedy began back in 2021. He can quite often dart between villainy and heroism, although more recently, he has been endlessly trending toward the latter. Although Harry will likely begin the upcoming season sidelined by the Greys, his inevitable liberation could easily kickstart the conclusion of a massive storyline,...

The best Alan Tudyk movies and TV shows include a strong mix of comedy and action roles and a career full of animated voiceover roles. Tudyk got his start in the entertainment industry in 1997 when he picked up a role in the independent film 35 Miles from Normal, which earned him more attention, including a role in the Robin Williams film Patch Adams, where he played one of the patients in that medical comedy-drama. He got his biggest notice thanks to his supporting role in Heath Ledger’s A Knight’s Tale in 2001.
However, most people know Tudyk from his television roles and his animated voice projects. For his television roles, his most popular are as Wash in Firefly and as Harry in Resident Alien, making him a popular actor for sci-fi and genre fans. Since making his debut in Resident Alien season 1, episode 9, "Welcome Aliens," Terry O'Quinn's Peter "The Alien Tracker" Bach has become a huge part of the irreverent dramedy's story. Quinn is not only one of Resident Alien's greatest sci-fi guest stars, but his arc is also one of the darkest and most fascinating in the entire show. His shocking return at the end of Resident Alien season 3, while perhaps half-expected by the audience, came as a massive surprise to certain residents of Patience, Colorado. With Resident Alien season 4's confirmation, his legend was able to be continued.
Quinn has dipped in and out of the Resident Alien cast since he first entered the fray. However, the more Peter Bach features in the show, the more is learned about his devastating origin story and what drives him to track down extraterrestrials on Earth. From red carpets to resident aliens and driving ranges, NBCUniversal’s SpinCo has given its first indication what its programming strategy might look like with the hire of Val Boreland as President of Entertainment.
Boreland will oversee programming for cable networks including USA Network, Oxygen, E!, Syfy and Golf Channel as the Comcast-owned company spins off these assets into its own entity.
Boreland’s background – she is currently EVP and Head of Content Acquisitions, TV & Streaming for NBCUniversal – points to a mix of third-party acquisitions alongside original series.
She has overseen acquiring content for NBC, the cable networks and Peacock and was credited with the latter’s savvy acquisition of the streaming rights to hit Paramount drama series Yellowstone as well as its deal for the John Wick prequel The Continental.
But she does also have original programming experience, as NBCUniversal was quick to point out in its announcement Thursday.

Resident Alien is known for putting many of its characters through a huge amount of turmoil, but the show's upcoming season is gearing up to really pile on for one resident of Patience, Colorado. The Resident Alien cast is filled with character pairings with great chemistry that leads to some very funny moments, but the sci-fi dramedy doesn't neglect its more macabre themes either. Although Resident Alien season 3's ending featured several cliffhangers, it's pretty easy to tell where the next run of episodes will take certain characters, and one arc is very dark.
Resident Alien season 4's confirmation came as a huge relief to fans of the show, as it looked for a while as if Syfy's decision to drop the project meant the story would remain incomplete. Thankfully, after a jump to USA Network, Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle and company are coming back for at least one more run of episodes.

Resident Alien tends to pair the same characters together quite often based on their chemistry, but the show's third season included a relatively unused team-up that worked incredibly well and needs to be revisited when the sci-fi dramedy returns. The brilliant dynamic between members of the Resident Alien cast is a huge part of what has made the show successful. Although Resident Alien season 3's cliffhanger ending looked as though it would go unresolved for a while, the confirmation of Resident Alien season 4 means the residents of Patience, Colorado will be back for at least one more run.
Resident Alien season 4's story could go in several directions, and there are more possibilities than ever before for unexplored character pairings. Although Resident Alien season 3 consisted of just eight episodes (a record low for the show), it still managed to find the time to give viewers something new while continuing the larger story.

Battlestar Galactica has earned critical acclaim throughout the years as the series boasts some memorable performances by actors who've starred in a variety of other remarkable projects. It's not an easy task to impress the cult following of a short-lived series like the original Battlestar Galactica, but the re-imagined sci-fi series from the 2000s managed to pull it off. The Syfy original series ran for four seasons and is filled with compelling character relationships and interstellar conflict. Actors like Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackhoff, and Jamie Bamber lead the series and are beloved by audiences for their sci-fi roles.
The series' main cast is made up of re-imagined versions of characters in the original Battlestar Galactica, but the show introduces some new characters as well. Across its three seasons thus far, Resident Alien has delivered the laughs while also raising the stakes with each passing episode, and now season 4 is coming soon. Debuting in 2021 and based on the eponymous comics by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien follows an alien (Alan Tudyk) who is sent to destroy Earth. However, upon assuming the identity of a physician, he begins to grapple with the moral dilemma of wiping out a species he grows to care for.
Scoring high marks from critics since the debut season, Resident Alien is largely carried by the stellar performance of Allan Tudyk who excels at the sort of character work required by such an odd premise. Likewise, the humorous writing of the series is both raunchy and clever, and Harry's decision to change his mind about destroying Earth is earned instead of assumed. With the show so able to change its basic premise on a dime,...

Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle is Resident Alien's main character, and the show's eccentric extraterrestrial boasts many skills that make him interesting as well as formidable. Tudyk has led the Resident Alien cast since the show began in 2021, playing Harry in a variety of scenarios that have gradually unveiled the character's abilities. Although Harry isn't Tudyk's only character in Resident Alien, he is the persona he has embodied most frequently throughout the story.
Of course, Harry's species (which has never been properly named) isn't the only alien race in the show that boasts interesting powers and abilities. For instance, the lore surrounding Resident Alien's Grey Aliens has also been fleshed out quite significantly since the show's first episode - especially in season 2. However, because Harry is so prominent in Resident Alien's story, it can be much easier to pick up on what he can do that other characters can't.

British Columbia has given Hollywood producers an early Christmas present by boosting the foreign film tax credit for major studios and streamers that shoot locally.
The latest provincial budget has raised the production services tax credit for foreign projects shot locally from 28 percent to 36 percent from Jan. 1, 2025. And tentpole projects with local expenditures exceeding $200 million will receive an additional two percent bonus.
The film tax credit boost follows B.C., which depends heavily on Hollywood film and TV production produced locally, feeling the impact of industry shutdowns during the pandemic and last year’s dual Los Angeles strikes. “Our province is home to one of the busiest film and TV production centers in North America,” B.C. premier David Eby said in a statement as Los Angeles productions increasingly opt to shoot outside of California in rival locales, including Canada.

A sleeper science fiction comedy hit since its debut in 2021, "Resident Alien" has steadily been entertaining audiences with its extraterrestrial hijinks. The show adapts the comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, starring Alan Tudyk as an alien hiding in the small town of Patience, Colorado. Posing as the town's doctor Harry Vanderspeigle, the alien initially intends to wipe out humanity as part of his otherworldly directive, but then he learns to appreciate it. This change of heart is informed by the friends that Harry makes in town, with "Resident Alien" boasting a strong ensemble of actors joining Tudyk.
A lot of the charm in "Resident Alien" comes from its principal cast, along with the solid writing by series creator Chris Sheridan. As the series progresses, much of these characters' backstories are gradually revealed, giving heart to the wacky sci-fi antics Harry unleashes on the town.

Resident Alien stands out as a tasty blend of quirky humor, offbeat storytelling, and heartfelt moments amidst its sci-fi backdrop – and there are more shows like it out there. Resident Alien stars Alan Tudyk as Harry Vanderspeigle, a flawed, genocidal alien who poses as a small-town Colorado doctor and eventually becomes sympathetic to the human cause.
The show dives into everything from offbeat human interactions to larger existential matters. Whether it’s the off-kilter small-town atmosphere, clever humor, or supernatural storylines, there are a handful of sci-fi comedy shows that capture a similar balance likely to tick all the right boxes with Resident Alien viewers.

Resident Alien season 3 seemingly forgot about one of the most fun trends from the show's previous two runs, but the next batch of episodes can revisit it. Resident Alien season 4's confirmation came close to not happening, and it took a switch from SyFy to USA Network for the sci-fi dramedy to continue. Regardless, fans can rest easy that the Resident Alien cast will reunite at least one more time.
Resident Alien season 3's cliffhanger ending certainly left a lot to look forward to when Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle comes back to continue the saga. However, while still entertaining, the last run of episodes fell short of the show's high standard. There were a few different reasons for this, one being that Syfy forced showrunner Chris Sheridan to cram his planned story into just eight installments. The Greys in Resident Alien come with a shocking amount of pre-existing and original lore, making them one of the most fascinating aspects of the sci-fi dramedy. Most members of the Resident Alien cast have had a firsthand encounter with the nefarious extraterrestrial species, and by the end of Resident Alien season 3, the Greys' threat to Earth has been made painfully clear. Since debuting in Resident Alien season 2, the Greys have become fully integrated into the show, and they don't seem to be going anywhere soon. The lyrics to Resident Alien's theme song quickly give away two massive storylines for Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle, and while the clues may seem cryptic at first, they become surprisingly clear after actually watching the show. Tudyk has led the Resident Alien cast since the show began in 2021, and with Resident Alien season 4's confirmation, the sci-fi dramedy will keep the actor in the role for at least one more run of episodes. Although Resident Alien season 3's ending raises many exciting questions, the show's theme song may even predict Harry's immediate future.
An excerpt of Brown Bird's "Bilgewater" plays over Resident Alien's ever-changing title sequence. The song gives the show an ominous feel while maintaining the fun of the story. The band went on hiatus in 2013 after frontman and founder David Lamb received a leukemia diagnosis - an illness that sadly took his life around a year later.

By the end of Resident Alien season 3, the sci-fi dramedy introduced a handful of new interstellar species who had never appeared in the previous two batches of episodes. So, it would make sense for the Resident Alien season 4 to keep that trend going.
Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle is an alien in human form. Although he now sees Earth as his home, Harry originates from another planet entirely and boasts vast knowledge of the other extraterrestrial races, along with their physical and behavioral traits. Some of these fictitious species have been mentioned in passing, but many have only been offhandedly referenced or described. The race in question fits into this category.

Resident Alien has many memorable moments, but there's one scene from the show's inaugural run that doesn't receive as much attention as it deserves. The amazing chemistry between the members of the Resident Alien cast is a big part of what gives the show its appeal, as well as the well-written character dynamics and individual arcs. The scene in question combines many of the best aspects of the show's formula, and it pays off to create one of Resident Alien's best couple of minutes.
With Resident Alien season 4 officially confirmed, the sci-fi dramedy is set to continue. Although Resident Alien season 3's ending promises an exciting future for the saga, the show's past and its rich array of characters have combined to create a solid narrative foundation. Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle is inarguably the main character in Resident Alien, but there's actually another resident of Patience, Colorado who is far more vital to the plot. Tudyk has led the Resident Alien cast since the show began in 2021, and the core group of characters has remained largely intact as the show has gone on. By the end of Resident Alien season 3, the story's stakes are higher than ever, but they never would have got to that point had it not been for a very important character - and it isn't Harry.
With Resident Alien season 4 confirmed and on the way, the character in question will continue to reap what they sowed in the sci-fi dramedy's first-ever episode. While such a statement may sound as though they did something questionable and are getting what they deserve, their actions actually make them the story's biggest hero. Resident Alien season 3 brilliantly changed the show, and it needs to stick with its decision when the next run of episodes is released. Although it looked for a while as though Alan Tudyk's sci-fi dramedy wouldn't be renewed, USA Network inherited the show from Syfy and Resident Alien season 4 is now officially on the way. With Tudyk coming back to lead the Resident Alien cast, the show is likely to continue on its strong trajectory. Hopefully, one of the biggest alterations made ahead of Resident Alien season 3 will remain in place as the saga continues.
Although Resident Alien got off to a relatively slow start in terms of popularity, the arrival of seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix early in 2024 quickly boosted the show's profile as it immediately made its way to the platform's most-watched list. Alan Tudyk largely gets to play Harry Vanderspeigle in his human form in Resident Alien, but there's an interesting explanation as to why a very select few can see through his disguise. Most of the Resident Alien cast look at Harry and see a human face, but some get an unfettered view of his alien visage. The latter is not a common occurrence, and it all comes down to a specific piece of worldbuilding by the sci-fi dramedy.
After beginning in 2021, Resident Alien quickly became one of Alan Tudyk's best TV shows. However, Harry Vanderspeigle is a far cry from Tudyk's Disney characters. Resident Alien's main character is a foul-mouthed extraterrestrial who isn't afraid to turn violent when it's required of him. While he eventually developed into a more traditional protagonist, there's still a lot that's unique about Harry - including how he's perceived by those around him.

A potential release window for Resident Alien Season 4 may be coming into view thanks to a new production update.
The Syfy comedy, whose third season ran from February to April of this year, stars Moana actor Alan Tudyk as an extraterrestrial being who crash lands in Colorado and is forced to adapt to life amongst humans.

There's no denying the success of Alan Tudyk's career to date, and the coming year proves the actor will continue to thrive in the entertainment industry. Alan Tudyk's best movies and TV shows span decades, with his varied back catalog allowing him to play countless colorful characters. Active in the industry since 1997, Tudyk has been routinely sought after throughout his career, and that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. If anything, his workload is set to increase even more in the best possible way.
While many may know Tudyk for his role as Hoban "Wash" Washburne in the sci-fi/western Firefly, his roles before and after display the actor's abilities just as well - if not better. Most recently, he's probably the most recognizable from leading the Resident Alien cast as Harry Vanderspeigle, but the show is far from the actor's only active project. Alan Tudyk's voice...

Exclusive: Netflix continues its push into close-ended procedurals with Pain & Suffering, an hourlong series in development from Don Todd, creator of the streamer’s 2023 limited series Florida Man.
Described as a new way into a fun episodic crime-solving show, Pain & Suffering centers on a curmudgeonly, misanthropic insurance adjuster whose job is coldly assigning monetary value to human lives, teams up with a homicide cop to look beyond the numbers and become the reluctant solver of overlooked murders.
Todd is writing the script and executive producing. Aaron Kaplan executive produces for Kapital Entertainment, which is the studio. Kevin Marco is the creative executive for Kapital. A rep for Netflix declined comment.
After building its streaming business on serialized, bingeable series, Netflix has been looking to supplement that with original broadcast-style close-ended procedurals, starting with the upcoming Pulse, its first medical procedural.

Rogue One was the unlikeliest of Star Wars success stories: a spinoff movie revolving around an entirely new cast of characters trying to steal plans for the Death Star. And then at the end everybody...well, I guess I shouldn't spoil things explicitly. The movie came out in 2016; you can find out happens if you want.
In any case, Rogue One was a big hit at the box office, but it was still surprising when we heard that Disney was going to make a spinoff TV show about supporting character Cassian Andor, a rebel willing to give anything in the fight against the Empire. Once again, Andor turned into an unlikely success; many fans consider it the best Star Wars TV show Disney has yet made.
The upcoming second season of Andor will bring back more of the Rogue One cast, including K-2So, a reprogrammed Imperial droid given to sarcasm and back talk.

There's finally a date in place for when Resident Alien season 4 will be shot, and there's a strong possibility it's not good news. Since beginning in 2021, the Alan Tudyk-led sci-fi dramedy has aired relatively consistently. While the first two seasons aired in consecutive years, Resident Alien season 3 didn't premiere until a notable length of time after the season 2 finale. Although Resident Alien season 4 is confirmed to be on the way, the production schedule suggests the delay will be far more like the one between seasons 2 and 3.
The core Resident Alien cast has remained intact since the beginning of the show, but their amazing chemistry hasn't guaranteed plain sailing in recent years. Resident Alien season 3's ending marked the conclusion of the show's shortest run yet, so rumors started to arise that it would be canceled. Thankfully, that's no longer the case. Although Resident Alien season 4's villain will surely be a tough challenge for the characters to face, the new antagonist needs to be carefully handled by the writers to maintain a steady pace in the coming run of episodes. The newest addition to the Resident Alien cast poses a new kind of threat compared to past villains in the sci-fi dramedy, but the show can only do certain things with him until the time is right. There is one showdown in particular that needs to be delayed until one of the latest moments in Resident Alien season 4.
Debuting at the end of Resident Alien season 3, the Mantid is a shapeshifting insectoid who left Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle trapped on the Grey Aliens' Star Wars-inspired moon ship. Voiced in his natural form by Clancy Brown, the Mantid's ability to physically transform means he has already been portrayed by Tudyk as well.

A big part of Resident Alien's appeal is the fantastic chemistry and various dynamics that exist between the sci-fi dramedy's characters, and the upcoming season is set to shake things up between two figures in particular. Resident Alien season 3's ending made some strong suggestions about where the story is headed when the show returns. While some cliffhangers were more dramatic than others, they all had a lot of potential going into Resident Alien season 4. However, one of the finale's scenes has big implications for one of the show's long-standing relationships.

With Resident Alien returning after a switch from Syfy to the USA Network, the upcoming fourth season has the chance to massively improve upon the previous run, all thanks to two key episodes. Although it looked for a while like Resident Alien season 4 might not happen, the Alan Tudyk-led sci-fi dramedy is set to continue. When the Resident Alien cast returns to add to the story, they have a great chance of bringing an excellent arc to life. Resident Alien season 3's ending set up a brilliant plot, and it will hopefully be built upon when the show returns.
Since the show began in 2021, Resident Alien has cultivated a dedicated following. When the first two seasons hit Netflix earlier this year, the fan base grew even more as Syfy prepared to air Resident Alien season 3. The show's third run of episodes greatly differed from the previous two and for more reasons than one.

Resident Alien's leading man plays the show's main character excellently, but although Alan Tudyk does an awesome job of embodying Harry Vanderspeigle, his acting choices also create a deeper-lying issue. Tudyk has led the Resident Alien cast since the show began in 2021. Although Resident Alien season 3's ending looked for a while as though it would be the show's final outing, a switch from SyFy to USA Network means the sci-fi dramedy will return. It's too late for Tudyk to change how he plays Harry in Resident Alien season 4. However, it'd be a shame even if he did.

Chucky’s murderous days are over — at least for now. The series, based on the classic horror movie franchise, will not return for a fourth season on Syfy and USA Network. The news comes four months after Part 2 of Chucky‘s third season aired its finale on both NBCUniversal cable networks.
Series creator/executive producer Don Mancini had been looking to carry on. He revealed in April that he had pitched a fourth season, saying at the time that “it’s something I really like to do.” His enthusiasm helped spring the #RenewChucky fan campaign, which has been rallying support for Season 4.
Needless to say, today’s outcome is not what he had hoped for, but Mancini, who also created and wrote movie franchise, remained graceful in his reaction, vowing that this is not Chucky’s last spree.

“Chucky” has been canceled after three seasons, Variety has learned.
The horror comedy series aired on both USA Network and Syfy. Season 3 aired in two parts — the first in October 2023 and the second between April and May 2024. According to sources, there had been discussions of bringing the show back for an abbreviated final season or even a wrap up film, but ultimately to no avail.
“I’m heartbroken over the news that ‘Chucky’ won’t be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have,” series creator Don Mancini said in a statement. “I’d like to thank UCP/Syfy/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky’s cold heart. Chucky will return! He Always come back.
