Foo Fighters and Tom Morello shared a bill at Open’er Festival in Gdynia, Poland this weekend. With Morello watching from the side of the stage, Dave Grohl dedicated the band’s performance of “Times Like These” in honor of the former Rage Against the Machine guitarist. At one point, the Foo Fighters frontman also briefly made his way side stage so that Morello could get an up close and personal view of his tribute, before the two ultimately embraced.
“Wild time last night at @Open’er Festival in Poland rocking out hard with Dave Grohl & Foo Fighters,” Morello wrote of the moment captured by photographer Aysia Marotta.
Morello and his mother, Mary, were featured in an episode of From Cradle to Stage, the 2021 docu-series created by Grohl based on the book written by his late mother Virginia, From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars.

Dave Grohl goes in-depth about the Foo Fighters track “The Teacher,” which he penned as a tribute to his late mother Virginia, on the latest episode of the Song Exploder podcast.
Virginia Grohl, a longtime teacher, died in August 2022, about five months after the death of Taylor Hawkins; Foo Fighters’ latest album But Here We Are is dedicated to the two of them.
“I was with her for all of the time leading up to her passing,” Grohl told podcast host Hrishikesh Hirway. “Everyday during that period, I would write something on the guitar,...

It’s no longer just David Zaslav, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels, and a room full of ruthless Warner Bros. Discovery accountants swinging their Excel sheets like guillotines. Stream your bucket-list series and movies (note: 2008’s “The Bucket List” is only available on PVOD) while you still can — content removal is the new power move.
Last month, Paramount+ scrubbed shows “Inside Amy Schumer,” “From Cradle to Stage,” “Tell Me a Story,” “Ghislaine: Partner in Crime,” movies “Fantasy Football” and “Snow Day,” and a crop of Nickelodeon series from its archives, a source confirmed to IndieWire. The library purge followed the cancellation of “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies,” “Star Trek: Prodigy,” “The Game” and “Queen of the Universe,” all of which were also removed from the service.

Paramount+ opened the floodgates to purge content from its streaming platform last week when it removed Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, The Game, Queens of the Universe, and Star Trek: Prodigy.
Deadline reported Monday that all five seasons of Inside Amy Schumer had been banished from the service, with no telling whether the show will return at another destination.
Also removed is Tell Me a Story, which was canceled after two seasons in 2020.
The anthology from Kevin Williamson had previously been leased to The CW to help shore up its schedule during the pandemic.
Blood & Treasure, which began its life as a CBS original before being placed on a multi-year hiatus to return on Paramount+ before being canceled, has also been removed.
The list goes on. Here's the full list of titles no longer available to stream.

After a year of questionable decisions from streaming services that involve password sharing, app overhauls, advertisement tiers, removal of content and so on, the bubble is somewhat bursting as companies look to regain profitability through the purging of shows. It was not long ago that news broke about the streaming platform, Paramount+, canceling a number of projects, including Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Star Trek: Prodigy, The Game and Queen of the Universe. Not only is the streamer canceling these movies and shows, but they’re removing the titles from the application as well to reap the benefits of a content write-down.
Deadline now reports that more shows have been put on the chopping block over at Paramount+. One of the bigger names that is getting purged is the return of the sketch comedy show Inside Amy Schumer, which had returned to continue its run with a fifth season in six years.

For those feeling wolverine levels of hunger for further Duran Duran backstory, Paramount Plus’ revival of the “Behind the Music” franchise plans to meet that need with an episode’s worth of memories — careless, careful or otherwise — devoted to the band. The platform is announcing today the addition of Duran Duran, New Kids on the Block and Bret Michaels episodes, along with a trailer that reveals glimpses of the first eight, dates for which have now been set.
The revived series kicks off July 29 with a double-dose of episodes featuring Ricky Martin and LL Cool J. From there, “Behind the Music” will debut a new episode every Thursday through Sept. 9, in what it’s calling the first half of the season. This initial late summer rollout will also include the previously announced Huey Lewis, Busta Rhymes and Fat Joe.
Jennifer Lopez also appears in the new trailer, but her episode...

Rush’s Geddy Lee talks about growing up the son of Holocaust survivors in a clip from the next episode of Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia Hanlon Grohl’s Paramount+ series From Cradle to Stage.
“From a very early age, I knew that my parents were Holocaust survivors. In fact, I knew that almost all my family were Holocaust survivors,” Lee says in the clip (via Spin). “Most survivors don’t discuss it, but I felt lucky in a way because it wasn’t a mystery in my house.

“It’s brought on an onslaught of incredible projects,” reveals composer Amanda Jones about what her groundbreaking Emmy Award nomination last year has done for her career. Sometimes billed as Amanda Delores Patricia Jones, her compositions underscore five shows that are airing this spring alone: “Adventure Time” on HBO Max, “A Black Lady Sketch Show” on HBO, “From Cradle to Stage” on Paramount+, “Good Trouble” on Freeform and “Impact” from National Geographic. She continues in her exclusive interview with Gold Derby (watch the video above), “It’s been a fascinating and incredible exhilarating year.”
Jones’s projects lately have disproportionately featured women both in front of and behind the camera. She explains, “I’m really grateful to be part of this wave that’s happening where there’s just a lot of female creators that are working on some incredible projects that have a ton of visibility. The women that...

Dave Grohl and Pharrell Williams — a pair of Virginia-bred musicians — talk about the early days of N.E.R.D. in this exclusive clip from Thursday’s episode of Grohl’s docuseries From Cradle to Stage.
Grohl first asks Williams, one half of the superstar production team the Neptunes, whether he ever dreamed of a career in music when he first started out.
“Hell no, we only did it because we thought it was fun,” Williams said. “It was like the only thing that was more fun than skateboarding at the time.

Dave Grohl and his mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, drive around singing Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” in a new clip from their upcoming Paramount+ series, From Cradle to Stage.
The short clip finds mother and son singing Simon’s 1972 hit a cappella with some endearingly shaky harmonies. After Grohl states that “You’re So Vain” still amazes him, Virginia cuts in to say that she still can’t understand why her son never got into the famed jazz vocal group, Manhattan Transfer. “That’s where their genius is,...
