... and proceeds ever-steeper downhill from there.
The "team" (if you can call them that, they're so disconnected with each other - not to mention reality) behind this mess have obviously sipped one too many lattés.
The entire thing feels as if it was completed from inception to release in a single day - an hour spent on the script, eight hours spent on recording, one hour spent on editing. Such is the level of "professionalism" in all aspects. If they actually invested more than that amount of time for each of those tasks then their failure is even worse.
I'd strongly advise staying well away from this heap, unless you're a film student wanting to see how NOT to make a movie.

Marriage breaking down, guy is a massive prick, she leaves. Makes sense so far. Cuts briefly to what looks like a long term hostage situation. Okay. Now there's a cafe woman and a shaman. Random cut back to the past and merge the stories together, except for the hostage part, not sure how that fits in but it has a few more scenes. Why was... any of this happening?
Acting was good enough not to make it too painful.

Not sure why they hated it so much. I guess I can understand if you want a traditional horror movie which this isn't because it's more like a subgenre of sorts. Cool tone, not too long, sort of thought provoking. I'll probably like it more when a watch it again in like a month lol.

And I guess absolute boredom also comes at night.
When I stumbled upon the 2021 movie "At Night Comes Wolves", from writer and director Tj Marine, it was a movie that I had never heard about that I picked up. I found the synopsis interesting enough, given the cult concept of the storyline. So I opted to sit down and watch the movie.
But wow, this movie was slow paced and boring. Running at 76 minutes, I can honestly say that the movie feels like it is 180 minutes long, and absolutely nothing worthwhile happens throughout the course of the movie. So I can't really fathom what writer and director Tj Marine was aiming for here.
The storyline just simply didn't have any proper contents to it. A shame really, because the synopsis sort of painted the movie to have potential. But the truth of the matter was something else entirely. I was bored senseless and to tears from what transpired on the screen.
The acting performances in "At Night Comes Wolves" were actually surprisingly good, taking into consideration that the actors and actresses virtually had nothing solid to work with in terms of storyline and script. I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie.
All in all, then "At Night Comes Wolves" just simply isn't worth the effort. This movie was a boring snoozefest, and it is not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on.
My rating of "At Night Comes Wolves" lands on a two out of ten stars.

Incoherent, no amount of excuse as an "art film" can save this mess of a screenplay. Instead of bantering what this or that meant, we're left wondering how this dreck ever made it this far.

I enjoyed the movie a lot to be honest. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. Acting was great along with production I thought. Production was excellent considering they took footage from previous movies it said in the trivia section. Some of these reviews seem to say they didn't know what was going on but it seem very easy to follow. One user and particular (@Angry_Santa) seems to not enjoy any movie at all with every rating as 1.

Might not be your cup of tea. Kind of reminds me of Mulholland. Not like most horror movies but definitely has eerie moments and some horror stuff.
Sarah Serio's true acting abilities and star power came through in this otherwise messy and confusing script. There were moments the film was good, however Mary May's character, played by Sarah Serio, was the most convincing and consistent part of the movie. Keep your eyes peeled for this up and coming star.
This movie is wild in a way you should prob be ready for. Don't expect it to be everything you want but if you like original stories it's a good one. Not sure I agree with the ending but still cool.
Not like anything I've seen before but you can tell it's low budget. The effects were really impressive though I have to say, she probably should have left her @hole husband sooner! I felt like there was a lot more story they didn't show so that would have been nice but by the end of the movie I'd say it was a cool movie when you don't know what else to watch. Or only have like 80 minutes to kill?

Watched it on a whim since the trailer looked interesting, and I can't say im disappointed. Caught off guard by a few things but overall I enjoyed it. The acting gets it done. The shots are cool. The editing feels like a horror movie from the 70s which personally I like. If you like cult cinema then its one to check out but be aware it's a slow burn.
The negative reviews on here are over the top. It is an interesting movie. Will rewatch.

It's not a horror movie. It's got some eeriness and some tension that I thought was really nice, but don't expect blood and gore or anything. With all of that aside, I thought it was a relatively well made movie with some interesting ideas. Acting is good! Directed well. But the story is a little polarizing.
