Matt Damon is looking epic. Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan revealed a first-look image from his upcoming adaptatation of Homer‘s The Odyssey, which will feature Damon in the lead role of Odysseus. The star-studded ensemble also includes Oscar winners Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron, as well as Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Mia Goth, John Leguizamo, Jon Bernthal, and Benny Safdie.

According to Universal, Nolan’s follow-up to Oppenheimer, which he wrote and will coproduce with wife Emma Thomas, will be a “mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time.” It is slated to open on July 17, 2026.

While he was left off a list of new and returning cast members released by HBO on Friday, Variety can exclusively report that the “3 Nights” singer and actor will indeed reprise his role as Elliot in Sam Levinson’s hit high school drama. Fike is set to shoot a couple of scenes for the show next week, sources say.

Fike joined “Euphoria” in its second season, which premiered in January 2022. He played a guitar-slinging, drug-addicted teen who befriends Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer), wrapping them up in a messy love triangle and serving as an obstacle to Rue’s sobriety. Exclusive: HBO’s Euphoria has been in production for a few days on the long-delayed third season and Deadline can reveal the addition of Grammy Award winner Rosalía, Super Bowl Champion Marshawn Lynch and NAACP Image Award winner Kadeem Hardison, as well as the return of series regulars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi, among others.

The eight-episode third season of Euphoria will feature a time jump that takes the characters out of high school. It is set to premiere in 2026, four years after the show’s Season 2 run.

Coming back for Season 3 are original cast members Zendaya (Dune film series); Hunter Schafer (the upcoming Blade Runner); Eric Dane; Jacob Elordi (Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein); Sydney Sweeney (Anyone but You); Alexa Demie; and Maude Apatow as series regulars. Exclusive: Aaron Holliday (Cocaine Bear), Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You), Michael Abbott Jr. (Fallout) and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) have wrapped on Appofeniacs, an indie horror film from writer-director Chris Marrs Piliero.

Appofeniacs is a riff on the term “apophenia” which is the tendency to find connections or patterns in things that are unrelated or random — common examples being confirmation bias and paranoia. This marks the feature debut for Piliero, who is known for his music video work with Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Kesha, and The Black Keys (for which he won an MTV VMA).

Piliero independently financed and produced the film, which also stars Will Brandt, Paige Searcy, Simran Jehani, Harley Bronwyn, and Sean Wing. Gunn exec produced the pic, with Salvatore Schiavone and Jonathan Voluck handling casting.

Drake is reportedly upset about Kendrick Lamar‘s performance at the 2025 Super Bowl, and he appeared to be clapping back at one of the participants.

On Sunday (February 9), Kendrick delivered the Halftime Show during the big game. He shared the stage with Sza and welcomed Serena Williams on for a cameo. Both women notably dated Drake, who Kendrick has long feuded with.

Kendrick also included two of his diss tracks against Drake in the setlist – “Not Like Us” and “Euphoria.”

Now that the show is over, sources are speaking out about how Drake feels. He also seems to be targeting Serena in a post on social media.

High school can’t last forever, and Euphoria might be ready to graduate.

The upcoming (and much-delayed) third season of HBO’s acclaimed teen drama may be its last, the network’s head of drama Francesca Orsi tells our sister site Deadline. “We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end,” Orsi admits. But she thinks fans “will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.”

Filming finally got underway last week on the much-delayed third season of HBO’s hit drama Euphoria, headlined by two-time Emmy winner Zendaya. And while fans will still have to wait about a year for the new episodes, getting to this point is a small miracle as Euphoria was impacted by the 2023 WGA strike, creator Sam Levinson’s commitment to his other HBO series, The Idol, as well as the unexpected deaths of star Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turen. There was also some disagreement over Season 3’s creative direction, which pushed production back from spring 2023 to January 2024, with the actors allowed to take other jobs.

Now the cast — featuring probably the strongest lineup of current movie stars ever assembled — has been successfully brought back and working on Season 3 in Los Angeles after the series received a $19.4M California tax credit.

The first two seasons were a resounding success because they used a relatively small pool of characters to mine many storylines.
