Was Superman too dark for Jacob Elordi? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
In a GQ interview, Jacob Elordi revealed that DC approached him to audition for Superman. His response? A hard pass. “Well, they asked me to read for Superman. That was immediately, ‘No, thank you.’ That’s too much. That’s too dark for me.”
He didn’t specify which Superman project he meant, but odds are it was Superman: Legacy, James Gunn’s 2025 reboot. And while fans might be scratching their heads — Superman, dark? — Elordi clearly wasn’t interested.
The actor, known for his chilling performance as Nate Jacobs in Euphoria, has spent years playing one of TV’s most twisted high school villains. But even that wasn’t enough to make him want to step into Superman’s boots.

Kanye West only had great things to say about Drake until they started feuding in 2018. Things quickly went south as Ye, who called Drake “the greatest of all time”, accused the Canadian rapper of threatening and bullying him. West was only one of the many rappers who initially loved Drake but went on to turn their backs against him.
Kendrick Lamar and Drake collaborated on several projects before Lamar distanced himself from the rapper in 2013. When he was featured in Future and Metro Boomin’s Like That in 2024, Lamar never thought he would dive into a full diss track back-and-forth with Drake. The Studio, Seth Rogen’s new series from Apple TV+ about a movie studio executive, started years ago with Freaks and Geeks. Director-producer Judd Apatow made a comment to Rogen on the set of the ‘90s teen drama that he’s never forgotten. Ahead, what Apatow told Rogen and how it helped inspire The Studio.
Rogen remembers Apatow telling him studio execs are ‘terrified of losing their jobs’
In a February 2025 Esquire interview, Rogen, who stars in—and writes, produces, and directs—The Studio, opened up about the inspiration behind the comedy. Turns out, the inspiration is decades old, in part from Rogen’s time on Freaks and Geeks, the short-lived 1999 teen comedy-drama that’s since developed a cult following.
So what exactly inspired Rogen? Something Apatow said to him before they hopped on a call with the network way back when. “Judd [Apatow] let me listen in on a notes...

Starry sessions with Robert Pattinson and Jacob Elordi enlivened the Berlin Film Festival Saturday as the actors made waves with high-profile new titles “Mickey 17” and “The Narrow Road to the Deep North.”
Saturday’s premiere of sci-fi adventure film “Mickey 17” was one of the biggest events of the Berlinale so far, as all eyes in the film biz have been on director Bong Joon Ho and his followup to the Oscar-winning 2019 drama “Parasite.” Variety‘s Ramin Setoodeh and Elsa Keslassy captured the buzz in the room as Berlin fest director Tricia Tuttle had to cut the standing ovation short in order to bring the director and star on stage for a Q&a.
“Pattinson, who attended the premiere giving off Batman vibes (in an all-black ensemble that included a leather coat), arrived early in the night — signing autographs and taking many selfies on his way inside the theater.

Jacob Elordi brought the heat to snowy Berlin at the premiere of his new war-set miniseries “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” on Saturday night, debuting his latest adventure in facial hair: sideburns.
Gone was the beard that sent shockwaves through the internet in December when the actor served on the Marrakech Film Festival jury, though apparently it wasn’t all for nothing. Rocking an all-black outfit, which also showed off some chest hair, the “Euphoria” and “Saltburn” actor strutted his sideburns on the red carpet before entering the Zoo Palast alongside director Justin Kurzel and his castmates.

Jacob Elordi had to lose weight to play a prisoner of war in the new Justin Kurzel-directed series “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” — but to him it “wasn’t complete torture.”
When Variety asked how the weight loss affected him at a Berlin Film Festival press conference, the “Euphoria” and “Saltburn” actor said it was actually “a very calming experience” to go through the process with his fellow cast members, whom he affectionally called “the lads.”
“I think there was something quite profound that happened, in that it wasn’t complete torture,” he said. “There was a peace that sort of came over all of us. And you kind of reach a level of love that goes beyond what you’re used to, because everything gets stripped away and you come down to the bare bones of, ‘Is my mate Ok? Am I Ok? How can I help?...

In case you happened to miss the exciting if not unbelievable news, filming has officially started on the long-delayed third season of HBO's Euphoria. Cameras began rolling on the highly anticipated season 3 in early 2025, as HBO shared in February a new photo of Zendaya back in character as Rue. The series had been away so long, many wondered if it would ever make it back to air.
But Euphoria defied the odds stacked against it — like strikes, creative differences, and real-life tragedy — to commence production on what HBO's boss has referred to as the likely final season. One last season for the road, a victory lap for the Emmy Award-winning series if you will. We've heard reports about who won't be back, and now we're learning who's joining season 3.

When Sam Levinson's "Euphoria" debuted on HBO, the coming-of-age series quickly became a phenomenon. It provided Zendaya the platform to become the youngest two-time Emmy winner in history as well as the youngest person to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as high schooler Rue Bennett, undoubtedly the role that changed the trajectory of her entire career. Despite its edgy nature, "Euphoria" became a runaway mainstream success, one of the most discussed TV shows on social media, and the launchpad for a new class of Hollywood performers including Hunter Schaefer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Eloridi, Storm Reid, and the late Angus Cloud.

“Euphoria” Season 3 announced its cast on Friday — and some new names are in the mix. Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch and Kadeem Hardison will all join series regulars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi on the HBO drama’s latest outing, with Dominic Fike also set to return. Notably absent from the new season’s casting news is Storm Reid.
“Euphoria” resumed production this week for its long-awaited third season. The show was marred by delays caused by the Covid pandemic as well as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Its return comes almost three years after the second season premiered, and for awhile, particularly following the death of actor Angus Cloud, the matter of its return was a big question mark. HBO and Max boss Casey Bloys dispelled rumors concerning a potential cancellation for months.

Dominic Fike is returning for Season 3 of “Euphoria.”
While he was left off a list of new and returning cast members released by HBO on Friday, Variety can exclusively report that the “3 Nights” singer and actor will indeed reprise his role as Elliot in Sam Levinson’s hit high school drama. Fike is set to shoot a couple of scenes for the show next week, sources say.
HBO declined to comment.
Fike joined “Euphoria” in its second season, which premiered in January 2022. He played a guitar-slinging, drug-addicted teen who befriends Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer), wrapping them up in a messy love triangle and serving as an obstacle to Rue’s sobriety. Fike’s talents as a Grammy-nominated recording artist were highlighted in the Season 2 finale, as Elliot performs an original song on the acoustic guitar for Rue. Fike and Zendaya released a version of “Elliot’s Song” on music streaming services.

Rafi Gavron and Shiloh Fernandez have joined the ensemble of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” sources close to the actors confirm.
The Universal film’s previously announced cast members include Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal and John Leguizamo.
Universal shared in December that the film “is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time.”

Exclusive: Aaron Holliday (Cocaine Bear), Jermaine Fowler (Sorry to Bother You), Michael Abbott Jr. (Fallout) and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) have wrapped on Appofeniacs, an indie horror film from writer-director Chris Marrs Piliero.
Appofeniacs is a riff on the term “apophenia” which is the tendency to find connections or patterns in things that are unrelated or random — common examples being confirmation bias and paranoia. This marks the feature debut for Piliero, who is known for his music video work with Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Kesha, and The Black Keys (for which he won an MTV VMA).
Piliero independently financed and produced the film, which also stars Will Brandt, Paige Searcy, Simran Jehani, Harley Bronwyn, and Sean Wing. Gunn exec produced the pic, with Salvatore Schiavone and Jonathan Voluck handling casting.
Previously seen in Universal’s horror comedy Cocaine Bear, Holliday has also been seen on HBO’s Euphoria and Sharp Objects.

HBO hasn’t confirmed the story, instead declining to comment when approached by the outlet. Given the outlet’s source is likely to be fairly official,...

Drake is reportedly upset about Kendrick Lamar‘s performance at the 2025 Super Bowl, and he appeared to be clapping back at one of the participants.
On Sunday (February 9), Kendrick delivered the Halftime Show during the big game. He shared the stage with Sza and welcomed Serena Williams on for a cameo. Both women notably dated Drake, who Kendrick has long feuded with.
Kendrick also included two of his diss tracks against Drake in the setlist – “Not Like Us” and “Euphoria.”
Now that the show is over, sources are speaking out about how Drake feels. He also seems to be targeting Serena in a post on social media.

A source told Et that Drake is “angry” about the performance. However, “he’s not trying to outwardly show it” and is “acting like he doesn’t care.”

High school can’t last forever, and Euphoria might be ready to graduate.
The upcoming (and much-delayed) third season of HBO’s acclaimed teen drama may be its last, the network’s head of drama Francesca Orsi tells our sister site Deadline. “We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end,” Orsi admits. But she thinks fans “will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.”

HBO pulled all the stops with a glitzy Thailand-themed premiere event Monday night for the upcoming third season of The White Lotus, Mike White’s social satire anthology wrapped into a murder mystery. It was a throwback to the network’s signature must-attend elaborate shindigs of years past while still reflecting the recent tragic events, with Thai restaurants impacted by the fires catering the afterparty.
The White Lotus, along with the rest of HBO’s drama series output, is overseen by EVP Francesca Orsi, the longtime top HBO programming executive whom both White and Orsi’s boss, Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, acknowledged onstage Monday.
She spoke with Deadline at the afterparty about Season 3 as well as the already greenlighted Season 4 of The White Lotus, including where the next installment may be set and whether it would be an all-star affair. She also teased the...

Filming finally got underway last week on the much-delayed third season of HBO’s hit drama Euphoria, headlined by two-time Emmy winner Zendaya. And while fans will still have to wait about a year for the new episodes, getting to this point is a small miracle as Euphoria was impacted by the 2023 WGA strike, creator Sam Levinson’s commitment to his other HBO series, The Idol, as well as the unexpected deaths of star Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turen. There was also some disagreement over Season 3’s creative direction, which pushed production back from spring 2023 to January 2024, with the actors allowed to take other jobs.
Now the cast — featuring probably the strongest lineup of current movie stars ever assembled — has been successfully brought back and working on Season 3 in Los Angeles after the series received a $19.4M California tax credit.

Since its inception, The White Lotus has been a study of the human condition. Putting a wide array of wealthy individuals in an exclusive resort, the series has charted what makes them tick and their wide-ranging questions about their lives.
The first two seasons were a resounding success because they used a relatively small pool of characters to mine many storylines.
The White Lotus Season 3 aims to expand on that, with its most enormous cast yet, and it falls very short.

Since The White Lotus Season 2 was on par with Season 1, I figured the show would scale new heights with a brand-new cast and location for its latest chapter.
However, a large cast is only worthwhile if it is being utilized. Sadly, only a handful of the characters make an impact in the first six episodes screened for critics.
