I saw this as part of a block of science fiction shorts at the Satisfied Eye International Film Festival and it was one of the stand-out films of the festival. A nuanced, multi-layered film, like all the best science fiction it looks outwards while placing a microscope on our world within. A real testament to what can be done in the short form, it's a film that shows everyone involved at the top of their game, from the directing, cinematography and script to the production design, costume and score. Watched on a huge screen with surround sound that shook the cinema, this film stands its ground against any big budget blockbuster. It's all brought together by an incredibly nuanced performance by a young leading actress who is clearly someone to watch. I would have quite happily sat and watched a feature length version.
