Don't let the title or synopsis fool you, this one is about far more than a few games of chess. You will go on a thrilling ride with Beth as she battles through adolescence and addiction while nurturing a powerful gift in her ability to play chess with the best players in the entire world. I enjoyed every single episode of this series, but the end actually brought me to tears. After that, it was deserving of a rare 10 rating for me because I can't think of a way to have made it any better. I'm actually nervous about the new season more than I am excited because I don't want it to disappoint after such an incredible Season 1. I can't wait to read the book next, I just ordered it immediately after the last episode finished.
