Plot: Follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive. Inspired by the New York Times bestselling novel “Stinger” by Robert McCammon.
Review: The name James Wan attached to a production likely makes you think you are in for something similar to The Conjuring or Insidious. The filmmaker has become synonymous with scary movies as much as he has directed big-budget tentpoles like Aquaman and Furious 7. Still, his prowess as a producer has fostered several cool projects under his Atomic Monster banner in recent years. The new series Teacup carries Wan’s name recognition but is the brainchild of Ian McCulloch. Inspired by the Robert McCammon novel Stinger, Teacup is a unique and original foray into genre storytelling that combines horror, science fiction, and family drama for a creepy drama series that is much...

Robert McCammon's cult classic horror novel Stinger is getting the screen treatment, with a twist, from Ian McCulloch in Teacup. Prior to the Peacock horror show, McCulloch had primarily worked as a recurring writer and executive producer in the world of television, having contributed to the likes of NBC's Chicago Fire, Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone and the short-lived Stephen Dorff neo-Western drama Deputy. While only a writer for 23 episodes of each, McCulloch was a consulting producer for far more of each series, with Chicago Fire being his biggest tenure for all 23 episodes of season 4.
With Teacup, McCulloch takes a very unique approach to adapting McCammon's novel, doing away with a large amount of it and instead focusing the story on three families on a rural Georgia farm rather than a small town. The families find themselves trapped by a circle painted by the mysterious McNab, a man wearing a...

Peacock is developing a limited series about Thomas Randolph called “The Thing About Tommy,” sources tell Variety.
In April, Randolph was sentenced to at least sixty years in prison for the murder of his wife and the man he hired to kill her. This was not his first conviction or his first deceased wife, however; Randolph is also known as Black Widower for having been married six times, with four of his wives ending up dead, though he maintains his innocence.
The true crime series will be written by Bruce Marshall Romans, who has previously written and produced on “Shantaram” on Apple TV+, “Deputy” on Fox and “Messiah” and “Marvel’s The Punisher” on Netflix.
Romans serves as executive producer alongside Jason Blum, Chris Dickie and Jeremy Gold for Blumhouse and Liz Cole for NBC News Studios. Universal Content Productions is the studio.

Exclusive: Another true crime limited series franchise, The Thing About..., is looking to join the likes of American Crime Story, Monster and Dr. Death. Peacock is developing The Thing About Tommy, from writer Bruce Marshall Romans and the companies behind the 2022 NBC limited series The Thing About Pam, NBC News Studios and Blumhouse, sources tell Deadline. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
The Thing About Tommy is inspired by the true story of Thomas Randolph, nicknamed “Black Widower,” who has been married six times and four of those wives ended up dead.
Like The Thing About Pam, which chronicled Pam Hupp’s involvement in the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria, The Thing About Tommy stems from Dateline’s coverage of the case. (The venerable NBC newsmagazine profiled Randolph in the multi-part series The Widower.)

Tucked away in the mountainous backroads of rural Washington lies the sleepy town of Jericho Ridge. At the local police station, Deputy Tabby Temple is gearing up for her overnight shift despite a busted ankle slowing her down. As the senior officer left on duty, Tabby had to juggle responding to calls, watching the front desk, and keeping an eye on the intoxicated offender locked away in the holding cell. Little does she know that the long night ahead will test her limits in ways she never expected.
When Tabby’s colleagues start disappearing while out on patrol, things take a dangerous turn. A suspicious repairman at the station may not be who he claims, and soon Tabby finds herself cut off and under siege, right where she thought she was safest. Outnumbered and injured, she’s the last line of defense between the town and whatever threat is closing in.

The explosive growth of film and television production in New Mexico has broadened perceptions about its eclectic landscape in a short amount of time, but despite increasingly well-documented evidence to the contrary, some misconceptions stubbornly persist.
“One of the main comments I hear is ‘I didn’t know New Mexico has trees,’” says Amber Dodson, director of the state’s film office.
While the state’s natural elements are undoubtedly beautiful and have stood in as a range of locales for countless film and TV productions, they’re only one factor in the state’s transformation from a short-term production location to a true hotspot for studios looking to put down roots.
New Mexico first established its production tax incentives in 2003, at the same time many states discovered the economic benefits of attracting entertainment industry business. State leadership quickly began developing infrastructure to support production.

Have you watched "Knives Out" and "Glass Onion" and found yourself in desperate need of more tales of murder from writer/director Rian Johnson? Or perhaps you've binge-watched both seasons of "Russian Doll" and are ready for another show where Natasha Lyonne attempts to solve a mystery with a lackadaisical attitude and some sharp wit. Or maybe you just want to see Adrien Brody, Stephanie Hsu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ron Perlman, Benjamin Bratt, Chloë Sevigny, Lil Rel Howery, Clea Duvall, Tim Blake Nelson, and a whole clown car of other acclaimed actors all in one place.
If any of the above apply, then "Poker Face" might be the show for you. Created, written, and directed by Johnson, the 10-episode case-of-the-week murder mystery series stars Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a casino hostess turned detective with an uncanny ability to know whether or not someone is telling the truth. While that might sound...

Last month, we learned that Lionsgate is funding a horror film based on the novel Creepers (pick up a copy Here) by First Blood author David Morrell. At the time, it was said that Skylan Brooks (The Darkest Minds) would be one of the film’s cast members – but Deadline reports that Brooks is no longer involved with the project. Taking over the role he was going to play is Shane Paul McGhie, who is best known for playing the role of Landon in After and After We Collided. (McGhie then passed the role over to Chance Perdomo for After We Fell.)
Creepers tells the story of
a group of young urban explorers who plan to investigate an old, boarded up, seemingly abandoned hotel, only to encounter danger at every turn in the form of a competing group of hostile urban explorers seeking to find a legendary hidden treasure as...

Exclusive: Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to the WWII-era romantic drama I’ll Find You from director Martha Coolidge. The Anthem Sports & Entertainment company plans to release the title starring Adelaide Clemens (To the Stars), Leo Suter, Stephen Dorff, Connie Nielsen and Stellan Skarsgård in theaters and on demand on February 25.
Inspired by true stories of Polish musicians from the 1930s and 1940s, I’ll Find You centers on the tender, music-infused relationship between Robert (Suter) and Rachel (Clemens) that is forged when the pair meet as music school students—he, a promising singer and she, a violin prodigy. While Robert is torn away from Rachel following the German invasion of Poland, he vows to find her, no matter the cost.
David S. Ward and Bozenna Intrator penned the script for the film, which was shot on location in Poland and New York. Intrator also produced it alongside Lukasz Raczynski, Zbigniew John Raczynski and Fred Roos, with Alexander Roos exec producing.
“I’LL Find You is a beautiful romance film set against the harsh background of World War II,” said Gravitas Ventures’ Manager of Acquisitions, Brett Rogalsky. “What director Martha Coolidge was able to do with these elements is truly impressive, and we’re excited to be able to bring this film to the public.”
“From the beginning I loved the theme in this film that music has an almost magical power to heal,” added Coolidge, “and that it can inspire and move all people even those at opposite ends of the ideological spectrum.”
Coolidge is an Emmy nominee and DGA Award winner who has previously directed films including Material Girls, The Prince and Me, Angie, Lost in Yonkers, Rambling Rose, Plain Clothes, Real Genius and Valley Girl, along with episodes of such series as Siren, Angie Tribeca, Madam Secretary, The Night Shift, Psych and Weeds.
Gravitas Ventures was founded in 2006 and sold to multi-platform media company Anthem Sports & Entertainment in November. Recent releases from the company include Michael Lembeck’s Queen Bees; Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s Our Friend, starring Casey Affleck, Dakota Johnson, and Jason Segel; Vanguard, directed by Stanley Tong and starring Jackie Chan; and Andy Tennant’s The Secret: Dare to Dream, starring Katie Holmes. Gravitas has also recently acquired titles including Adrian Martinez’s feature directorial debut iGilbert; the Kathy Bates drama Home, from writer-director Franka Potente; family adventure film The King’s Daughter, starring Pierce Brosnan; Jason Pollock’s doc Finding Kendrick Johnson; and The Accursed, a horror film marking the feature directorial debut of writer-directors Elizabeta Vidovic and Kathryn Michell.

It has been some time since a slasher sequel has had such expectation stalking it. But after David Gordon Green’s 2018 Halloween revitalised the franchise, Halloween Kills marks the next step in Green and fellow screenwriters Danny McBride and Scott Teems’ follow-up trilogy to the John Carpenter landmark. Premiering at this year’s Venice Film Festival, the film would receive very polarising responses, a matter that remained when it was released in cinemas and streamed on Peacock simultaneously. However, were these (admittedly rather asinine) criticisms of “Empty anarchy”, “a middle movie”, “too much like a Halloween sequel” on point? Well, as we approach the home video release of the Extended cut in January, we can tell you…no they weren’t.

Well, things could get interesting very soon.
Big Sky Season 2 Episode 2 was all about setting up the long game, which appears to be an eventual showdown with a woman and a man who aren't at all familiar with the beauty of Montana or the people that inhabit it.
They are ready to make waves, and it's only a matter of time before they make new enemies out of Cassie and Jenny.
This show has no problem dropping a bunch of new characters on the audience and then watching us try to connect all the dots.
They did it throughout Big Sky Season Season 1, and that trend is continuing here. There have been about nine new characters introduced to us within the first two hours alone, and before we even figure out their names, we are scrambling to figure out how they fit into the narrative.
And man, it gets hard...
