The co-founder of Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival and Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival is launching a new event dedicated to imaginative cinema.
Amazing Fantasy Fest, a new film festival created by cult filmmaker and Buffalo resident Gregory Lamberson (Slime City, Killer Rack) will debut in the Nickel City in 2024. Lamberson previously co-founded Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival, which ran for three years, and Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, which just concluded an acclaimed ten-year run. Amazing Fantasy Fest (Aff) is his first festival as solo director.
Like its predecessors, Amazing Fantasy Fest will be a week-long celebration of independent films from around the world in the genres of Horror, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Action, Animation and Experimental. Lamberson will continue to spotlight the work of local artists, including Western New York students. Gregory Lamberson will direct the indie action thriller Guns of Eden from his own screenplay in western New York this summer. Described by the filmmaker as “Deliverance meets First Blood, with a dash of The Warriors,” the film is about four weekend campers, including two police officers, hunted by different factions of an armed militia after witnessing an execution. Newcomer Alexandra Faye Sadeghian will star as Megan Forrest, a Buffalo cop suffering from Ptsd who takes on the mantle of a vengeful warrior.

This originally premiered at a few small genre festivals last year. Widow's Point follows a writer who spends a weekend locked in a haunted lighthouse to help promote his next book, where he is targeted by supernatural forces. Of course - haunted houses usually are haunted! Ha. Craig Sheffer stars in this as Thomas Livingston, along with KateLynn E. Newberry, Dominic Luongo, Kaelin Lamberson, and John Renna. Widow's Point is a horror film based on a best selling book. The book was written by both Billy and Richard Chizmar, with Gregory Lamberson (Slime City Massacre) adapting the book for screen. This title was shot in Dunkirk, New York. And, the story focuses on a horror writer, who holes up in an old, haunted lighthouse.
