The working title of the film was Mario. Initially, the character Swapna was supposed to sport a Mario tattoo on her wrist. It was later changed to a joystick.
Since the leg braces took a lot of time and effort to put on and also remove, taapsee had to remain mostly on the wheelchair for eight to twelve hours.
A special rig was designed and attached to Taapsee's wheelchair to ensure that the camera movement is completely dictated by how she would move around. There were both frontal and back rig to shoot both side perspectives.
Playing the role was emotionally and physically draining/demanding, so Taapsee Pannu would play video games and ludo during the setup changes to cope.
Although a South Indian film, Taapsee's voice was dubbed in both the Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie. She did however, provide her voice for the Hindi dub.
