It is feel like I am watching national geography channel or discovery channel and 2nd thing is there is nothing like "Rohosyo Bhed" which we saw in other kakababu franchisee's means kakababu did not solve any mystery in this film .. so I would suggest don't waste your time to watch this film..just because it is a kakababu franchisee's and bumbada is there in the film.. that is why I am giving 3 stars.
Let me cut to the chase:
Pros
1. Susoenseful scenes of danger involving wild animals
2. Anirban Chakrabarti's acting
Cons.
1. Shamless contextual advertising marring the plot 2. Too much reference to Feluda and Lalmohan Ganguly. Almost as if Srijit knew his Kakababu didnt have it in him to carry the entire script on his own shoulders and therefore the desperate attempt to cling on to a character that Bengalis would warm up to with 100 % certainty.
3. Hardly any whodunnit angle. The bad man revealed himself and solved the mystery for Kakababu 4. A sorry Kakababu (in Sunil Ganguly's manuscripts, where did the old man go to highlight his hair I wonder?) and a sorrier Shontu ( i expect a more cerebral looking fellow as Shontu. How about Riddhi in the next one?)
Overall a good watch but a slightly disappointing one. I have said this earlier about Srijit messing with famous Bengali literature. If you do take up the job of fliming originals penned by folks like Satyajit Ray or Sunil Ganguly, you got to live up to a certain standard. Else, just film stories of your own. You do a much better job with originals (dwitiyo purush notwithstanding).

Finally the 3 years of prolonged wait came to an end. Watched the First Day First Show of #KakababurProtyaborton directed by #SrijitMukherji, followed by a great refreshment welcome bash.
Direction ( narrative style ) is far better than the previous two franchises. But Screenplay by him rendered sloth in some parts.
Adapted from the story #JongolerModhyeEkHotel by #SunilGangopadhyay, the film do has some edge-of-the-seat moments, with showcasing animals in their respective scenes were real, true & honest. But, the wilderbeast stampede sequence could not match upto the audience experience for poor CGI and VFX combined. So, the whole effort went zero. It reminded of the volcano sequence poor effects from Chander Pahar. The scene looked like that from a substandard video game.
Production by #ShrikantMohta & #MahendraSoni is applaudable to have gifted us with this amazing production.
Starring none other than the impeccable #ProsenjitChatterjee as the sleuth Raja Roy Chowdhury alias Kakababu and the dapper #AryannBhowmik as his nephew Santu always steals the show, but this time #AnirbanChakrabarti also did a good job playing #AmolDev with his moments. Riju-da ( the director ) himself gave us a visual treat with his extended cameo for unravelling the mystery of the missing 2 German tourists from the remote hotel in Masaimara. Watch the film to know more.
Cinematography by #SoumikHaldar deserves special mention for capturing the beauty of Kenya Nairobi's #MasaimaraForest region in such a large scale canvas. Has been his fan since #ChanderPahar.
Music by #IndraadipDasgupta is average, but the score is good.
Again a grt attempt by #SVF aka Shree Venkatesh Films for making and distributing such a massive production schedule of 12-13 days in Kenya.
Editing could have been at least 15 minutes crisper to make it a gripping and intriguing narrative.
Overall this Saraswati Puja is gonna be merrier with this film for all ages. Do visit ur nearest theatres to celebrate the comeback of Cinema to the theatres and the soon-to-be-demolishing pandemic.

Kakababu Protyaborton is another dismal entry in Kakababu trilogy made by Srijit Mukherji. Pretty bad choice of story, but the director only wanted to showcase foreign locales. I'll give the positives (if any) and negatives down below -
Negatives - 1. The wooden performances from Prosenjit, Aryann, Srijit himself, and the extras. They just remembered the dialogue and read it like it is.
2. Distracting product placements from a biscuit ad to chocolate, even a cough syrup takes you out of the film.
3. The same drone shots. If you have watched Chander Pahar or Amazon Obhijan, the shots looks eerily similar to one another. Also the bland colour palate used in this kind of adventure movies is getting repetitive.
4. No true sense of adventure or mystery.
5. Background score and songs.
6. The tongue in cheek reference to Anirban Chakraborty being Jatayu (whom he played in Srijit's Feluda) is too many.
Positives -
1. Its the end of the series hopefully.
I really hope some better director with suitable actor adapts Kakababu in true sense and adapts the good stories which has thrills and doesn't need to focus on foreign location. Watch Sobuj Diper Raja instead or underrated Kakababu Here Gelen. Dare I say even Ek Tukro Chaand is better than this.

Story has hardly any substance - should've been a 15 min movie. Rest is filled up with shots of African Safari. Just because the cast & crew spent money to shoot in Masai-mara, the audience has to sit through 1.5 hours of safari stuff which is better shown in National Geographic.

Worst Kakababu movie in the franchise. So much different from the book, includes lots of nonsense extra plots. It is a Discovery channel documentary than a movie. Srijit Mukherjee should stop making Kakababu movies.

Film review : Kakababu Protyoborton ( in theatres)
#sanjuzzreviews #kakababuprotyoborton
Directed by Srijit Mukherji, this is the 3rd installment of the Kakababu series, the first first two being Mishawr Roshoshyo and Yeti Obhijaan. I had great expectations frm this one but it left me a tad bit disappointed.
The storyline is very simple, Kakababu and Shontu are on a vacation in the African Savannah's where they get involved in a sinister mystery.
First the positives, Prosenjit and Aryan Bhowmik rock as Kakababu and Shontu. A surprise package is Anirbhan Chakraborti ( aka Eken Babu ) in a special role aping Jatayu from Feluda as the third musketeer.
Starts off very well with stunning views of the African forests, animals, quippy one-liners & the banter between the three protagonists. There is also a twist in the 2nd half that is interesting.
Now the things that I didn't like.... The story tends to drag with nothing happening for long periods of time. The story might have been a great read but when translated into a movie ... It pales a bit and makes u feel like u r watching an extended animal planet video. Thrilling moments sorely missed.
Crisp editing could've easy reduced the runtime by around 45 mins . Or it could've been released as a 3 part mini web series which would have appealed more to true blue Kakababu fans.
But hey.. don't be too sad, watch it anyways. Not a bad film and I'm sure many of my bangla bondhu's will enjoy it for the sheer nostalgia involved in seeing their childhood heroes and characters come alive on the big screen.
I'll go with 2.5/5 for this .. Adios 🙂

The movie is waste of time. One star for how Amal Dutta slapped Santu, and said," Next time behave appropriately with your elders". Excellent scene made my day.

The rating reflects the bad choice of people... unfortunately the film might have not reached to the correct spectators!!
I like this and do refer to others to watch and enjoy this piece of great work....

It is a very uncomplicated and an easy going film which I am sure you will enjoy. However I felt this movie was made for kids and families. So people who are bit critical perhaps not gonna enjoy.
It is not a movie at all. It's an adventure travel vlog. Wasted my money. Should have re watched Tonic or watch 8/12. Srijit is as usual nonsense. Saraswati Puja wasted. Now booked tickets for Tonic on Sunday to get me and my family refreshed and entertained.

Srijit Mukherji's Africa traveling vlog. With lots of random wild animal shot for one hour and a plot of 15 minutes including Kakababu crew talking about Feluda for 1 hour 15 mins. Great content to upload on YouTube.
Not much in this movie except shots of African safari. Big disappointment. No thrills, no mystery.. A very straight forward story. A few instances seem too stretched which could have been made smaller.
Overall, you can very well let this pass.

Poor man's Nolan has surpassed himself again. Every new effort is a new low, and spending any more time even writing a review is a waste of time. I'll now have to watch Gunda and Jaani Dushman back to back to wash down this taste.

Very very poorly acted. Specially the guy acted Shontu. Started watching this with huge anticipation, however, couldn't tolerate this for more than 15 mins. Prosenjit was way off actual Kalababu, guy who played Shontu should immediately stop acting and go to acting school first and director and script writers should learn how to direct and how not to ruin a great story.

I thought the previous movie, yeti obhijaan was really bad and it can't get any worse. I was so wrong.
Note to srijit..please stop messing with our childhood memories.

I have seen very few such bad movies in my life. I wasted the time watching the movie, the whole thing got burnt. I just thought how to make a movie with such a bad story. The earlier parts were pretty good. The way "Kakababu" is presented in this episode looks like they went on a picnic. Then "Azaira" brought some Shoot, And when the dialogue seems to have been narrated by the artists,
In this busy life, I take out time to watch a movie, and if I forget to watch this movie, then I think what is the point of living? For example, Required Character 600 is needed to give a movie review. I think it is difficult to make a 2 hour movie because it has to be 2 hours long. Shame on the director of this movie. And kudos to dear Prasenjit sir.

First of all, the story is not a movie material. As a result, it seems a waste of time throughout the movie-play. There were no proper reaction or reasoning behind any of the move from the main characters. None should go and waste their valuable time watching this movie.
